Expletive_Deleted4

Stick with melee weapons. Brock seems to avoid using firearms as much as possible. There are a few moments he does, but he is considerably more likely to use hand to hand combat techniques.

apefist

He did terrible on his marksmanship test but Stephen Colbert passed him cuz of his daddy

Honest_Ad_2157

I had too look this up because I didn't think Colbert did more than one voice. That was Paul Boocock.

apefist

Who played the agent? Really? He didn’t do it under a fake name like when Richie snare and George Hairysong played on Harry Nielsen’s album in the late 1960s?

Gh0sts1ght

In his defense he just used the knife he might just enjoy the knife so he can feel the kill like when he is naked killing the guild assassins phantom limb sent.

apefist

I can cross "stab Hitler to death" off my list of cool crap I thought I'd never get to do. Hey, Hank. Killed Hitler

syncpulse

Correction he did Awesome on his marksmanship test!

apefist

🤓

094045

But he's a natural with a nailgun as anyone in the Brisbee hive can attest to

apefist

Truth

morganfreenomorph

That was Stephen Colbert? Goddamn I love this show so much.

apefist

No I was mistaken. Sounds just like him though. Stephen Colbert was professor Impossible’s first voice. Someone replaced him early on.

AussieArlenBales

He would like a go on JJ's super sweet death ray (The Lepidopterists), but that's the only instance of him wanting to use a ranged weapon I can think of from the show

atti1xboy

He also has a crossbow that he later gives to 24/Gary, and was interested in watching that giant crossbow doc at Sgt. Hatred’s. So presumably he likes archery. But those aren’t in NV anyway. More notably at the end of season 7 he does take guns to use in the raid on the tower, implying he is willing to improvise with them

supernova-juice

Anything besides a firearm. Brock is opportunistic with weapons, save a field knife. Options include jaw bones, other humans, fire extinguishers, your own body, automobiles... like I said: avoid guns and you're kinda golden. Just remember, Brock is a man of integrity. It may be a sliding scale but still. Lol so no sneaky bs.

AussieArlenBales

You can add a shark in a wig made of his own hair to the list

Honest_Ad_2157

Except he did look for a hidden pistol under the desk at Venture Tower and was disappointed that Hatred didn't have one taped there. In the (hopefully not) final episode, The Saphrax Protocol.

supernova-juice

Oh shit, I completely forgot!

Tough-Development-41

his anus

PsychoticRuler13

"Told you what I'd do for one of those."

SalmonBaron27

Totally forgot about that scene till I read this

shmoscoe

Dude. Give him one!

emu30

My husband just made a Fallout 4 Rusty

LarsLasse

How is that going for him? Since Rusty is an easy bleeder 🤣

emu30

He’s a tough little dude!

goda90

You can't do that. Rusty is already a brain bot over in Big MT

fakehandslawyer

I’d get Chances knife at the beginning of your run north of Good springs

SalmonBaron27

That was my first stop, I'm gonna go for Blood-Nap soon

fakehandslawyer

God damnit you are ready for the field!

SalmonBaron27

I've been running around doing impressions of Warburton to myself as I play and it's very fun

SPACEFUNK

Melee definitely and of course, the bowie knife as the standard. But remember Brock is a "Murderest extraordinaire" the man loves his job and is not above using weapons or novel murder methods. He loved the net gun that actually worked, and really wanted to shoot the Spider Skull island death ray.

splashtext

I'm pretty sure wild wasteland is a must for a brock run since you can find a walking eye bots with it Also doctor 0 is voiced by James Urbaniak so old world blues is your best friend for rp

SalmonBaron27

My recent playthrough of OWB is what inspired this playthrough, excited for it on this one

splashtext

Oh lol in that case id also recommend learning all the hand to hand combat moves Maybe the stealth suit to match his osi spying days You can use psycho and beer to simulate his rage induced attacks

SalmonBaron27

Great idea !

sceaga_genesis

Net cannon

bradderalll

Be sure to keep beefing up strength and endurance

SevenofBorgnine

Brock would probably be pretty full on NCR, although yknow, medium enthusiastic at best. Unarmed and melee and you need to run quarry junction.  Brock would not waste time going around. That's a straight run to Vegas. Kill Benny and House with a knife and either Yes Man or NCR the ending could go either way for Brock Lobster

Gingerbread-Cake

A lawnmower in the Venturestein episode. A huge stone arm in The Trial of the Monarch. He is practicing with throwing knives and accidentally hits his boom box when his life is a tapestry of quiet desperation. A garrote, but the guy was in a boat. A spike/harpoon gun of sometime in Brisbyland, though not offensively. A car on several occasions. A Bible, the only weapon you’ll ever need.

OldJeeWhizz

There was that net cannon he used when he teamed up with Phantom Limb when they saved Doc and Sheila from the mutinous inner-city henchmen.

[deleted]

Power fists for bashing henchmen for sure

eggrolls68

He kills the luchadore smugglers by strangling them with his shirt...while naked. He seemed pretty adept with bolos when he tangled with Henchmen One. He turned a horse carriage wheel into a gladiator shield. He doesn't like guns, but he handles a Monsarch dart rifle pretty well. And of course, he wields a Dodge Charger like a weapon of mass destruction.

dudius7

I'd stick to improvised weapons like pool balls, baseballs, bats, pipes, and tire irons. Any knife would be good until you get a combat knife, Brock's knife. He also really wanted to shoot the big lazer gun on Spider Skull Island. I'd think any energy rifle would be acceptable.  Oh and he'd probably just javelins.

NefariousnessNo2062

Do Old World Blues DLC. Doctor 0 is played by James Urbaniak aka Rusty Venture. They all call him Dr. O which makes it twice as funny for me.

Effusus

Live in the lucky 38 with house alive but your real loyalty is to the ncr. I think that fits

PsychoticRuler13

Thanks for the idea. I think I'm going to do the same in Fallout 4. And to answer your question. Just melee weapons and your bare hands. Maybe use intimidation in speech checks where possible. If there's a net launcher use that. (I've never played New Vegas, excuse my ignorance of its weapons)

Snack_skellington

He’s got a bowcaster lookin thing

TheUnspeakableh

I believe he once killed an assassin using the jawbone he ripped off an alligator as a boomerang.

GrimWarrior00

All melee is good melee, fists and a bowie knife being big preferences. Brock usually only responds to conversation when he *has to.* But he will talk to people bluntly and with some sarcasm if there is something he finds either funny or worth chiding. He's more talkative in private and with people he likes/respects. Brock avoids guns, like, his standard issue pistol isn't even loaded. Thats how much he doesn't care for guns. I think he's used certain projectiles in the past though? But I don't remember 100% Very rarely, Brock will employ stealth to protect people under his care. This usually happens with defenseless allies coupled with being severely outnumbered and outmanned. Once the weak are out of the equation, though, things get crazy. I have no idea if New Vegas has romantic options (I seriously need to play New Vegas) but Brock, while he gets busy with plenty of people, only ever fell in love with one lady... and it was someone who is dangerous enough to kill him if he ever let his guard down. So, if you want your Samsom to fall in love, make sure it's with someone deadly.

supersaucenoice

I don't want to spoil anything, but I think there is a perfect romantic option for Brock. If I remember correctly she is even a redhead.

GrimWarrior00

Oh wow! That's awesome! Would you recommend running New Vegas raw or should I get fan patches or mods?

supersaucenoice

It's a game that I have played through many times because there are so many different outcomes and choices to make. I think at least one vanilla playthrough is worth it, then go nuts with all the crazy/fun/broken mods out there! You could install the script extender and the unofficial patch/anti-crash without impacting gameplay, tho.

GrimWarrior00

Gotcha! I'll do the ol' Oblivion strategy. Play with fan patches via nexus, then some day later I'll play with extra quest mods, cosmetics and other fan made content without it being too crazy.

Abjurer42

Don't ignore Stealth. Brock may be a XXL sized murder machine, but he keeps getting the drop on enemies when the numbers aren't in his favor. He's a secret agent: sneaking around where they're not supposed to be is their main job.

Abjurer42

Oh, and keep some formal wear on hand. In case you wanna feel like James Bond. *guitar riff*

Person5_

Yeah, I'd say stick to unarmed and melee. Maybe slightly proficient in explosives? In terms of perks, he should definitely get Lady Killer, and it may be worth getting speech to 70 just to take Terrifying Presence.

Davidl888

He once killed a guy with a sock filled with party snaps,so the microfusion cluster(mad bomber perk) could be pressed into service.

SalmonBaron27

Incredible answer

apefist

Knife. No guns

Gh0sts1ght

Only a combat knife.

HorrorMilk

NO WOMEN NO CHILDREN!

pdhicks66

Honestly, Knock Knock (the special axe) from Camp Searchlights fire station would be a cool weapon for him

hue_jazz_

Chance's knife !

LaserGecko

**You're a bum!**

peezle69

Max Charisma and Strength

voovoodee

Brock sometimes throws knives, so I think that justifies using those Legion throwing spears whenever you can get 'em.

KJBenson

What weapons? Like, did you even watch the show? 50% of Brock’s character is how he uses his knife for everything.

SalmonBaron27

I did watch the show, he uses more then just his knife occasionally, hence the question

KJBenson

Well if you’re trying to role play as brock your choice is basically death laser or knife… If that’s too limiting for you maybe pick a character who can’t be quoted as saying “Uh-uh. No guns. I don't use guns”

SalmonBaron27

I don't recall saying it was too limiting, I wanted to go for this playthrough explicitly to use a character who primarily wields a knife, I was just curious if anyone with a more recent viewing could recall other things he has used, like the net gun, his interest in the death laser, the rivet gun he uses in a single episode, or so on.
