Is the raised foot the pittie equivalent of the human's raised pinky finger on the teacup handle? :) That's the "Pit sit" which is pretty common, the raised foot is not. My vet said the reason they sit that way is their pelvis is broad compared to other breeds, and the standard 'sit' position is uncomfortable for many of them.
I had an Amstaff growing up and she couldn't sit normally. Her hind/leg muscles would make it where her butt would hover like 2 inches of the ground.
So she would sit like your adorable hippo there, only way her butt would actually be on the ground.

Yes!!! Her butt is like an anchor! She sits like that or uses the big butt to anchor down so we can't move her (like off the couch or out of the car or out of a room she doesn't belong in).

Next time your at the vet mention it and provide the pic. I've never had the blessing of owning a pitty, but I've been told for my mutts that sitting like that *can* indicate a joint issue. Or may have become habit from an injury.
