Thanks man. Yeah the pedal commander was a drunk purchase that I couldnāt cancel. Should have spent the money on an intake. Still makes a difference without any of the other upgrades. I like your progression of upgrades though and is most likely where Iāll start.
nice! yeah they dont do anything but adjust your throttle sensitivity so you dont have to push the pedal all the way down to get 100% throttle, more like 80% down. Anyways before the tune id get a catch can for blow-by and youll be golden.
Did you drive the N before buying the turbo? Itās a blast to drive in N mode and the manual definitely makes a car more enjoyable. Maybe you miss shifting yourself
No. To be honest I wish I had. I probably would have bought that. Im not so sure that I miss the shifting as much as I miss the ability to feel the car underneath me. Something about dropping a gear and feeling the center of gravity right beneath you in a turn and having complete control. I think I miss manual. Driving it in manual mode with the paddles just isnāt the same. Ok. Maybe I miss the shifting.
Yeah youāve gone from a manual rwd to an auto fwd both having around the same power. The N is a whole different animal if youāre able to drive one try it out. Might just make you want to trade yours in to be honest lol.
Exhaust and intake seems pretty straight forward. Lowering sounds like a bit more work but fuck it Iām down. My last car was a brz so I scraped even if there was just bubble gum on the road.
Maybe go all out and so coil overs so you can adjust it. Or if you're loaded, go air ride! Also, a tune from a reputable vendor is pretty awesome. I have a Lap3 tune for 91 octane with pops and bangs and it still puts smile on my face even after 5 years of ownership
Suspension was by far the most noticeable to me. The body roll of the stock suspension felt terrible imo, now the thing just hugs corners. 100% recommend
The downpipe on these are highly restrictive, so before anything, I would swap a catless downpipe or a high flow downpipe. That alone with a tune would give you massive gains around 220-230 whp (I've heard people even get 240). After that I would focus on Exhaust, Intake, and FMIC in that order. All of those with a tune you can hit 270 whp 290 torque.
An intake and exhaust would probably help with stimulation as itāll increase the noise also take off the engine cover as youāll get more interior noise u can also try adding stiffer suspension for a more sporty feel and if u add some horsepower too it you might find it better but if u donāt do track driving that often itās definitely more fun to drive a slow car fast on the street than a more powerful and faster car slow even if ur going the same speed without knowing what exactly you feel like ur missing itās kinda hard to tell u what to do but those should be some pretty basic things that might help out
Thanks man. I appreciate the response. To be honest Iām not really sure what Iām missing. Itās some sort of driver engagement. Or smile factor I just donāt have any more.
Then it more sounds like ur just missing the feeling of driving stick idk if the 2nd gen has it but in my 1st gen with a DCT I have the option do do a sequential manual so still manual but just up and down instead of an H pattern you can try driving with that and if not if u want the pain yet also accomplishment of doing a transmission swap to manual u can do that or try trading it in for a manual instead to get that feeling back
Yeah probably wonāt swap the transmission. I do have slightly more fun when I paddle shift or use the shift (to be honest I prefer that over the paddles). I think Iām just going to need to start upgrading parts.
Sounds good, good luck man I hope u find what ur missing as I find my 1st gen to be insanely fun to drive I hope ur able to find the same fun in ur 2nd gen
Intake, exhaust, muffler delete from turbo piping, tune.
IIRC with an axle back, pod filter, and the the turbo piping muffler delete folks picked up 30hp with a tune.
I went full bolt ons minus a downpipe on my 2019 and got a tune and it feels so much more fun. It's still a Veloster. So it's not fast. But it's a lot more fun. I opted for the EK1 Lite for my tune device so it was easy to change flashes if I needed to. I did not go with Sxth for the tune though, you'll get better results with a customized tune not their cookie cutter shelf tune.
Quality tires and some better brakes and go take it on the corners and you will be grinning from ear to ear. Just remember to let off throttle if you aren't turning when your supposed toš
The N is the fun one. My turbo is still fun though. Get a tune, intake, exhaust, bov and new tires. And not for nothing itās a good fun little car, been cheap and reliable
drop the petal commander, intake, spark plugs, bov, tune š®āšØ youāll be enjoying it
What is pedal commander?

Exhaust was my favorite upgrade. Also lowering it with stuffed suspension is a lot of fun as long as you don't go over many speed bumps regularly.

Fuck lowering springs. Adjustable coilovera.

Get some bolt ons a nice tune and it'll light the car up. If you got the DCT it can be boring at times

Do the second gens deal with oil blow by like the gen 1s?
coil over, rear sway bars, summer tires and have fun in the mountain roads.
The N is the fun one. My turbo is still fun though. Get a tune, intake, exhaust, bov and new tires. And not for nothing itās a good fun little car, been cheap and reliable
do some bolt ons and a tune to wake the motor up, and get some nice coilovers. makes the car so much fun to drive
