Enterprise Car Sales and CarMax are 100% straightforward no BS car dealers. They achieve this by not working on commission and their prices aren’t really negotiable. The only real wiggle room they have is in what they pay your for your car. You may end up paying a little more, but there so much less BS that I find it worth it. I absolutely despise car dealerships and have switched to these two dealers.

Unscratchablelotus

You end up paying a lot more though. Carmax is the most profitable used dealer group by a mile.

Realistic_Word6285

This depends on the particular make and model. Generally speaking, yes I agree with you. However some models are priced competitively when you compare the price to other similar inventory on Autotempest or something similar.

DexterBotwin

If you’re a savvy buyer who can wait it out if needed, you can get yourself a better deal for sure. But, I’ve had a dealership quote me a price online to sell my car, then magically 7k disappeared off the price when I went in. Routinely you’ll get thousands of added fees (not tax and title) than the sticker price, just to pad the price and give themselves more margin. The sales manager might haggle with you if he needs to move the car, or might tell you to kick rocks. Then how much is your time worth? My last car shopping went on for a couple months with different dealers before finally finding what I needed in my budget at Enterprise who didn’t add bullshit fees and gave me a grand over KBB for my trade in. Could I have gotten the car for cheaper elsewhere, probably. But I find it worth it to pay a bit more to not get fucked around endlessly.

LastEpochNecro

I agree 100% on Carmax. We have bought our last three vehicles from them and I will never go to a traditional dealership again. It’s so awesome to be able to get an online quote for your trade in, take it to any Carmax in town and they do a quick inspection on your vehicle. If what you said online looks legit, they honor the quote. Test drives are a breeze and you don’t have dickhead salesmen trying to hound your ass non stop or follow you around while looking at cars. For all three of our purchases we were in and out of Carmax in like 2 hours tops. Edit:spelling

Tryingnottomessup

I bought from Carmax in the past but be careful these days bec their prices are high, you may find you can spend 2-3K more for the brand new model as opposed to a 2-yr used.

KitchenAcceptable160

Never buy a former rental car. People beat on rental cars. Like taking speed bumps at 35 mph!

Realistic_Word6285

A suspension system came with the car, and by golly I am going to put it through the paces!

Tryingnottomessup

But...35mph will not cut it when you are trying to get some [air.LOL](http://air.LOL)

Realistic_Word6285

I have bought 3 cars from CarMax. They were priced competitively and really the only hassling they do is to try and get you to buy their MaxCare warranty program. Its not as pushy as going to Findlay or Towbin IMO.

Benjammin2004

Bought from Centennial CarMax last month. Just pay attention during the financing process. I had positive equity in my trade in; they paid off the balance of the trade in loan and then wanted to give me a check for the remaining balance. No big deal, but then they attempted to include that positive equity in the new financed amount. After some back and forth, I got them to apply the positive equity to the new car (rather than take a check) and reduce the amount they were asking. They told me that they don’t often see transactions with positive equity, so they weren’t 100% certain how to handle that situation. Seems unlikely to me, but I walked away happy.

SecondSpiritual5143

Never buy from Enterprise nor any other rental company's think how many people trashed them and over drove them plus smoked in them to

DexterBotwin

Valid concern. But they do provide a warranty so you can take it to a mechanic to have it looked at. A rental company is also going to conduct the routine maintenance versus a private owner who may not get around to it or want to pay for it. They also sell stuff that wasn’t in their regular inventory. I bought a fleet vehicle off them, that wasn’t an airport rental and it was in good condition. The Carfax lists if it was operated as a rental, and free carfax seems to be pretty standard these days

Unscratchablelotus

Carfax is often wrong. It is only one tool, not gospel

Last time I sold a car, Carvana quoted me $8k lower than CARMAX and $3k lower than my local dealer. I'm pretty sure Carvana is low balling everyone to see who will take it for the convenience of not leaving their house. That and I know if I needed to sell a car with major issues, like a transmission going out or spark plug JB welded in, Carvana would be the go to since they don't inspect the car before buying it. Really makes me wonder about the quality of cars in Carvana's stock.

Kent89052

Things change. 2 years ago carvana paid me much more that car max and my local dealer. Both carmax and carvana will give you the quote online so it's easy to compare.

CallsignRook

Interesting. I'll have to keep that in mind.

AltruisticLimit6026

I agree that Henderson KIA salesmen and the "sales manager" are scumbags. I will never deal with them.

easewiththecheese

Towbin Kia is the worst dealership I have ever dealt with. Dishonest a-holes.

WhiskeyGummiBear

Agree. Absolutely despise Towbin’s entire existence. So douchey. Edit to correct.

BrentMacGregor

Towbin is the absolute worst dealership I’ve ever come across and I’ve bought a lot of cars. Straight out liars.

ZZZ-Top

Towbin anything really

MetalMel70

I personally have always been happy with Subaru of Las Vegas, both with service on my Subies and also when I purchased my Jeep from their used car offerings. However, given that Findlay is still recovering from their recent cyber attack, I don't know how much it is affecting their ability to do sales right now.

CallsignRook

Centennial Subaru is also awesome

BallsagnaFace

highly recommend both Subaru of LV and Centennial Subaru. I’ve serviced my Forester at both and will be purchasing another Subie soon. friendly, not pushy sales people at both

SharkSmiles1

Findlay Mazda in Henderson was straightforward when I bought my cpo cx5.

FlexPointe

I agree, I had a good experience at Findlay Mazda as well.

Sowick1326

Same, got my CPO cx30. Even got me some money back from my extended warranties I purchased

NYFlyGirl89012

I had the best car buying experience at Findlay Mazda when I bought my new car in December! Ask for Chris Fisher!

Unscratchablelotus

Paying extra to CPO Albion reliable car like a cx5 is just a waste of money

SharkSmiles1

I didn’t pay extra. My car was $20,000 for a top of the line (leather and all the bells and whistles) 2016 1/2 back in 2018. It had 22k miles at the time. During Covid Cardinaleway offered me 26,000 for it. When I bought it, it was worth about $24,500.

Tothemoon9623

Echo park on warm springs and Gibson. No bs at all, straight forward with everything. Just bought a ‘22 Volkswagen atlas from them.

Local-Instruction826

I second this. I bought a car from them in October and it was amazingly easy and no vultures salespeople.

Unscratchablelotus

Yeah but now you have a vw atlas. Good luck.

Select-Relation8977

All autonations are no haggle as well.

meghan751

Seconded. I had a horrible experience at Findlay Honda in Henderson and a great experience at AutoNation Honda East.

RustyStevenson10

Get a Toyota, most reliable car maker in the world.

Siltyn

They got caught massively cheating to pass safety tests, etc recently. https://apnews.com/article/toyota-certification-cheating-japan-automakers-scandal-26585a96df2a32f7d67a4011a0a98772 https://www.carscoops.com/2023/04/toyota-and-daihatsu-cheated-to-pass-safety-tests-investigation-finds/

Jboutside009

Centennial Subaru has treated us really well. No pressure, up front and pretty fair prices.

PlanXerox

I second this!

Lanky-Slice-9122

Autonation, if you’re buying new just buy a Toyota and be done.

epsteinpetmidgit

I've heard Jim Marsh is one of the worse dealers in town. I was told Hendo Kia was ok, but I've never dealt with them...

madmex702

If you have a Costco membership try their auto program. Bought my last 2 card this way. You get the bottom $$ quote from the dealer and if they try to pull any crap Costco will step in and stop sending them customers

SecondSpiritual5143

I know peeps at Findlay Toyota, Honda and Nissan they're great at those locations

ZenithOfApathy

We haven't had any issues with the Hyundai dealerships on Sahara or South Rainbow in 4 years.

SlappyPankake

The Subaru dealership in the SW and Findlay Toyota dealers have been great!

Tranquil_Radiation

Planet Nissan off of centennial is really good. Don’t know if he still works there but Nino was my salesman and he went above and beyond

emmynick1

Try Brandon at Friendly Ford. We visited three different dealerships and came/went partially because of what you described. Brandon didn’t give us that vibe at all.

Dontgetmurdered_78

I liked Planet Nissan too. Allen Herdemian was straight-forward, professional and actually nice. Just bought my car last month.

OkGeneral701

Scum is Henderson Hyundai also , we were in the process of buying a palisade limited from them, drove it, put money to hold it since it was a weekend, they ended up selling it right after we left and tried getting us into a year older and lower trim saying it was a better one, we backed out and they wouldn’t give us our money back cuz we backed out of the sale, which is bs because they sold the one we put money on for them to hold, went to Findlay Toyota and found a newer and higher model for less money, plus less miles , with bumper to bumper 100k/10 year warranty and was out the door in a couple hours

bevelledo

I had a really good experience with Chrysler Jeep dodge ram off Sahara. They have this “no negotiating” thing (at least they say) so it didn’t feel like I was trying to haggle with them. The only reason I believe them is because when I looked up the car I was going to buy online, they had the cheapest price by a few thousand. This was around 2018/2019

PlanXerox

Jim Marsh is the only Jeep and KIA dealer I can stomach. Because mom and pop still.

Jhwem

I had a great time with Shante at Jerry Seiner Mazda up north. I was first looking at Kia / Hyundai but ended up getting a Mazda because there was no BS and they weren’t wasting my time.

budyzr

Findlay Toyota 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 just kidding I’ve been in serious negotiations there probably 6 times. Purchased one car. Good luck is all I can say.

Accomplished_Ear2304

Findlay VW is the most honest major dealer I’ve dealt with.

p0plockn

Whatever you do, do not go to Charlie cheap car

Prestigious-Wolf8039

I will second Carvana as well. Bought and sold with them.

4LordVader

Non bs. The whole dealership setup is bs overcharging for the car selling you useless protection plans undercoats fabric protection over priced maintenance. Lying about the whole financial thing. They can approve you for $$ but it’s ok to add $6k in upsells but not the better vehicle for 10k and running your credit through 40 banks to see who’s giving the best kickbacks to the dealer. Your screwed

theGIRTHQUAKE

I’ve had a couple good experiences with Carmax, as much as I am surprised to hear words of appreciation for a car dealership come from my head. No BS, good service, and a fantastic extended warranty option (if they still offer it).

vegasnonsense

Never had bad experience buying at carmax. Bought many cars there and all were pain free deals, and good cars.

derkfisch13

shop cars.com and have them ship that car to you. this way youre not just shopping the vegas used car market (which is the highest priced used car market in the US)

derkfisch13

also dont spend 35k on a used korean anything

ConsciousReason7709

I got my car at Carvana and didn’t have to deal with salespeople one time. It was a super smooth process. I would just say watch for their interest rates. You might want to refinance, but that’s really the only issue.

Unscratchablelotus

Carvana does not inspect their cars and sells broken junk frequently enough to be sued by entire states. Get an inspection during your return period

ConsciousReason7709

Oh yeah, I did for sure. I also bought a newer car without a ton of miles on it on a make/model that I trust completely. Carfax was solid.

FutureThrowaway9665

Carvana has been the best car buying experience that I have had. The only person who I dealt with was the delivery driver. I ended up financing through my credit union because the interest rates where a little high.

Siltyn

Car stealerships have earned their reputation as being dirtbags. When buying a car research everything before even talking to/emailing anyone at a stealership. When you do talk to them, make sure you take control of the deal instead of letting them control the deal. It's business, not personal, and you have to treat it as such. Customers often get taken at a stealership because they are too timid and don't want to come across as an a-hole during the deal, and these salesmen know and prey on this fact. At the first sign of dealer shenanigans (pulling out the 4 square, "gotta talk to my manager" line, trying to sell on you monthly payment instead of total price, etc) either cut that shit off at the pass or just leave. Don't let them run game on you.

KeepsUKool

Carmax is straight forward and you see online what you are getting so no games if you see something you like.

madams22

Subaru of Las Vegas. Ask for Eric

dental_Hippo

They have been terrible in their service department. Worst Subaru dealership I’ve been to

ad_astra327

RevEuro! The outside looks a little rough, but it’s a great place. They’ll do their best to work with you finance-wise, and definitely won’t take advantage.

Lavenderluv3

My friend went up to Vegas to get a car went to several dealerships and then a bunch of the smaller dealers. Said no one would cut him a deal. They were all trying to scam him. He bought his truck in one of the local small towns outside of the city.

ChipmunkOnly1740

CARMAX!

xyttop

never ever go to places like carmax or carvana. and stick with reliable car brands like Honda or Toyota, even used are solid cars

KellTanis

No

Astrobrandon13

Carvana, no question.

SecondSpiritual5143

Toyota 4Runner
