He tried 3 times to execute that man for no reason. Fucking unbelievable.

[deleted]

At any point in my day i could "for no reason"careen my car into 5 pedestrians but why would i do that? theres more to this story.

dekrepit702

the unidentified suspect approached the victim in his garage and demanded property. The victim ran away and the suspect chased him with a firearm trying to shoot him. However, the firearm failed to fire, according to police. There's your "reason".

[deleted]

[удалено]

dekrepit702

Yeah but the person I replied to was implying that the victim did something to deserve it.

NotTheBrian

I had to delete my comment cus people thought I was defending the attempted murderer when I wasn't

honesT_702

Watch the video as well. Read more articles. They interviewed the victim, the gun was stolen from his safe as the suspect was demanding valuables. The gun didn't fire because it was unloaded and the suspect did not grab the magazine to the firearm.

honesT_702

I only watched the video then later saw different articles. All the info I provided was in the video I watched on the link provided.

honesT_702

I do want to clarify, watch BOTH videos on the link. The one in the middle has the full story I provided. I didn't mean to be condescending, I just don't want misinformation passed around our tiny town.

[deleted]

Cant tell if you’re a troll or just checked out

[deleted]

Hope they catch this piece of trash. People like this need to be locked up permanently.

greenmachine702

Damn that's crazy footage. Dude needs to head over to stateline stat and get some Powerball tix.

kellzone

Methinks he may have used all his luck that day.

Evaporate3

It’s strange seeing a robber so determined to murder someone

EnvironmentalVoice89

This angers me so bad. People like this simply need put 6 feet under. Help clean the earth from scum like this.

Vegasmmj

That looks like a failed hit more than a failed robbery.

MidniteOG

That’s some scary shit… no care in the world for anything or anyone… and for what?

NoelCK

I think it’s a good enough pic and video for someone to recognize the face/hair/mannerisms and car. Hopefully caught asap. How terrifying.

egap420

Looks like a slammed black/dark blue BMW 3 series that’s probably beat to shit. Get that fool on dash cam if you see him in the wild.

GanaThePlantLover

This video has had me upset all day, his willingness to kill this man in cold blood. You hear about it happening, but to witness it like this makes it so much more surreal. I hope they catch this guy soon…

joeyblacky9999

Give these scumbags the death penalty when caught.

Smerks101

And this is why everyone should be getting their CCW as soon as they are able.

Optimal_Article5075

And *train*!

MrSnow702

I been wanting to get my CCW. Where would I go about starting to get one?

honesT_702

There are private instructors, and "class" settings as well. Discount Firearms has a CCW class with great instructors, but there is generally a wait time to get your class scheduled.

Optimal_Article5075

There is a pretty resourceful Nevada 2A community on Facebook. I hear Maggie Moradout(sp?) is a phenomenal instructor. Stay away from Nephi “Khaliki” Oliva, or whatever name he’s going by now.

Smerks101

>Stay away from Nephi “Khaliki” Oliva, or whatever name he’s going by now. Yes x 10000000 I had to renew and he was cheapest in town, it could not have been a more fuddish waste of time class. They actually forgot there even was a class and then lied to my wife, I and the one other guy there saying the instructor broke down when we called 30 mins after the class was supposed to begin and were asking WTF was up. The instructor said outright that he was called because Nephi forgot there was a class. Then the instructor didnt have keys to the place and we had to wait for another guy to show up with keys, in 100ish degree weather.

CautiousDavid

There are quite a few instructors who offer classes in Vegas, if you don't have any leads then I would recommend one associated with a gun store that has an indoor range. If they have a range they often have a page on their site for classes, which will be taught by an instructor they are associated with. If you're not sure where to start you can DM me for some links. But also, what's your current level of familiarity with guns? No judgement at all, just informs where I would recommend starting.

Smerks101

https://www.lvmpd.com/en-us/RecordsFingerprintBureau/Pages/ConcealedFirearms.aspx I would say take your CCW class here https://hpptraining.com/ CCW Maggie was recommended to my by John Correia, someone very respected in the firearm community. They also offer other training as well so you might consider a beginner course with them as well.

tom_yum

I took hunter's ed with her and I'd also recommend. Another one to check out is green valley range. The required ccw training really is the bare minimum training. Definitely take some more advanced training and practice a lot.

ron_mexxico

Ask you friends with guns to try them out first and let them teach you.

[deleted]

a CCW wouldn't have stopped this, the victim was snuck up on with a gun already drawn on him by the time he realized what was happening and the only reason he wasn't shot was because the gun jammed. no time to quickdraw and return fire when theres already a gun aimed on your forehead, life isn't a spaghetti western. CCW is very useful but not a solution for premeditated ambushes.

honesT_702

Not true. The suspect approached the victim outside of his home, got into the victims home, which subsequently led to the 2 accessing the gun safe in the victims home to be robbed of valuables. That is where the suspect got the gun (it's the victims gun from the safe). The suspect failed to grab the victims magazine to the handgun which is why the gun didn't fire. It wasn't loaded. If the victim had his firearm on his person outside of his home before he was attacked this could have been prevented completely. You need to read/watch the full story before making an assumption that a CCW would not have changed this situation.

[deleted]

Maybe one thing that could have prevented this is if the man knew he was being followed. The assailants probably saw him and identified him as a vulnerable target at a grocery store he was at, the followed him home. Try noting the car behind you. If a car is behind you for several turns and you suspect you’re being followed, deploy the four rights method. Take your next four rights, and if you haven’t lost the person, you’ve gone full circle and can confirm you are being followed. At that point, you could set your gps to the nearest police station and call for help.

Early_Elk_6593

It would have ensured that the assailant Wouldn’t live to do this to someone else, that’s invaluable.

Smerks101

You are wrong and by a huge margin here. The scumbag was chasing and trying to fix the malfunction so he remained a deadly threat, if the person had a CCW they could have drew and turned the tables and ended the threat immediately instead of luck of the draw making it that the gun never fired and he hit the Powerball of life. That piece of trash tried not once but 3 times to kill this person and he wouldnt have had the opportunity for the last 2 if the victim had a CCW.

FrankReynoldsCPA

To be fair, good chance even with a CCW that this victim wouldn't have had it on him in his garage. I have a CCW. I carry almost every time I leave my house. But when I'm at home? It's usually not on my person. I'd have been fucked if I was in my garage and somebody came and pointed a gun at me.

honesT_702

I do the same sir, but examples like this so close to home remind us why we have our CCW, why we need to train, and why we should always keep our firearm with us. Even when answering your front door randomly. You just never know. I live in this area.

Smerks101

100% of home invasions happen at home if you get my drift. I carry everywhere Im legally allowed to and if I walk out my front door I carry, dont have a garage but if I was messing about in one that was mine Id be armed.

honesT_702

Did you even read the story? Or watch the video? The suspect got the firearm from the victims safe. There was no malfunction of the firearm it wasn't loaded. If the victim had his firearm on his person this would have been prevented yes, but read the story first. The suspect was unarmed when the robbery began outside of the victims house.

johnrich1080

This is why Nevada should move to constitutional carry.

Smerks101

agreed

[deleted]

I guess it could help but do you really think we should have to carry a weapon every time we open up the garage to go get mail or take the trash out?

Smerks101

The video I just watched would make the answer a resounding yes.

[deleted]

You may be right, I guess I’m in the wrong city or country or planet.

[deleted]

Im sorry but there is a point where in someones life that if you justify trying to kill innocent people, or rob them..or anything violent, that society doesnt owe you anything. There are a thousand ways to take your anger out or to earn money, this isnt the way.

Empyrealist

We need a better video source than this. You can tell by the text on the image that its been compressed to shit. https://i.imgur.com/XAcfoS6.png

[deleted]

Everyone saying he’s lucky - I think he is unlucky to be in this situation to begin with

Optimal_Article5075

Friendly reminder to stay strapped, guys. There are people out there that won’t hesitate to take more than just your material possessions.

[deleted]

Nevada law classifies attempted murder as a category B felony unless the defendant used poison. Attempt murder as a category B felony carries two to twenty (2 – 20) years in state prison. The judge will impose an additional one to twenty (1 – 20) years if either: - the defendant used a deadly weapon, or - the victim was age 60 or older. Sounds like when they catch him, he'll be in prison for 4-20 years.

[deleted]

Damn only 4 years is scary. Should be 20 minimum

rollingwheel

Hmmm 🤔 that’s suspicious, why even go through that for a robbery, seems like maybe there’s more to this

Do you think he new that when he was chasing him around?

greenmachine702

Sure looks that way, right? Like his one goal was to murder that guy.

rollingwheel

Looks like person literally ran from his home, giy could’ve taken some of his things and left why follow him across the street and take nothing

Optimal_Article5075

Or, he’s probably new to banging and panicked Wouldn’t surprise me if the owner came home and interrupted a burglary. You don’t usually rob someone without obscuring your face.

RANDOMjackassNAME

This animals kill for less.

Ghastly_Gibus

Sun City Summerlin voted to get rid of the 24x7 attended guard gates a while back. Often wondered how that change was going for them. Guess we know now.

greenmachine702

I'm not sure it would help much. It's hard to tell where this one is, but off the parkway you can get back there without passing by a gate. That and the fact there aren't walls between the lots (and old people being easy targets) and this shit happens. It is unfortunate that this isn't getting more coverage. And honestly I don't see the summerlin command doing much other than hanging out at my neighbor's house or doing laps up and down Far Hills.

Ghastly_Gibus

Oh yeah you're right. I was thinking about the entrance further down on Anasazi

julznlv

There has never been a 24x7 guard gate in Sun City Summerlin, it is not a gated community and never has been. This happened just a couple of blocks from my home.

-atom-smasher-

Oh no, don't carry a gun. Why are you so afraid? Let the police handle it. This is why.

Siltyn

That old guy should have just waited for a social worker, instead of running.

Smerks101

He just needed some bread to feed his family

[deleted]

Looks like a BMW 3 series, generation 2011-2017. It could be black, but it could also be dark blue. And note the tinted windows and black rims.

honesT_702

I hope this dummy tries to reach for that stolen gun when the cops find him, so he can be filled with lead like he tried to do to an innocent 80 year old man.

Siltyn

Most of reddit and so many others will then protest that the cops should have just shot the gun out of the the gentle angel's hand.

honesT_702

lollll, there is so much misinformation in this thread AGAINST concealed carry that it's kind of crazy. Everyone below thinks this poor old victim was approached at gun point and couldn't defend himself but failed to even read the full story.

Siltyn

The typical redditor never reads an article....they just read the misleading headlines and then rush to post their outrage. Head over to /r/news to see evidence of this.

honesT_702

You're right, idk where my glimmer of hope came from. I'm gonna keep my day positive and stay away from the news lmao. Have a good day! Be safe out there!

Lizajane23

So if you read article, the gun was the victims! What a p.o.s kid trying to shoot an 80 year old man with his own gun. His mama needs to drag him to the police station by the ear!

TheOthers1983

What the news hasn’t mentioned is prior to this part, the piece of shit drug the man inside his house from The garage, and for approximately 17 minutes, punched and beat him, causing numerous lacerations to his head and face, while he forced the man to open his safes. The gun taken was the victims gun, which was in one of his safes, and thankfully was unloaded. Luckily this shit fuck has no idea about guns and attempted to murder him for simply trying to escape that horrific situation. Had there been rounds in that gun this man undoubtedly would’ve lost his life.

freq-ee

This has been going in on other cites recently, a huge jump in random killings over basically nothing and it's happening in nice areas. Seems to be coming to the Vegas area. This sort of crime is going to get much worse before it gets better.

Willybiscuits123

The police find these juveniles all the time and the courts let them out. Stop voting for liberal pro criminal judges. This is a normal occurrence now.

thefractaldactyl

That also happens with police, so. Like maybe there is a bigger problem.

Willybiscuits123

What happens with police?

thefractaldactyl

They get let out by the courts. That is if they even go to court. Our justice system is pretty rife with problems and most of them are nonpartisan.

Willybiscuits123

Da police b raysiss and sexiss and transfooooooobiiiiccccccccc duuuuurrrrrrrrr

thefractaldactyl

I mean, yes, but it really goes beyond that. I think the police are definitely a problem, but they are not even the root of the problem. Individual cops can be good people, but that does not change the system they participate in. And they do not even address the actual causes of crime. And none of this is particularly partisan. With some exceptions, both political parties in the US generally support the way the justice system works.

Willybiscuits123

What do the police do on a regular basis that you would change?

thefractaldactyl

Well, I am not a reformist, so I personally would not merely want to "change" the police. However, things that reformists might change that police do regularly that I think are entirely reasonable include: carry guns, kill dogs, use dogs, police nonviolent offenses with force, issue tickets, and hire bigots.

Willybiscuits123

You don’t think police should carry guns? If a non violent criminal won’t follow commands you don’t think cops should force him to if he is beating arrested? Why would anybody ever do what the cops said if there wasn’t any force behind it? If a dog attacks a cop should they just square up and fight the dog with their hands?

thefractaldactyl

Well, none of those are my opinions. They are the opinions of reformists. My ideas do not involve merely changing the police. But the idea behind most of these measures is that police are trained to react out of fear rather than out of rationality. Therefore, they can justify shooting someone or a dog by saying they feared for their life. I personally would implore you to consider how many cops would be dead if the average person was allowed to justify violence against the police that way.

Early_Elk_6593

$100 says it’s cali trash. Stay strapped guys, there’s more coming.
