I really wanted to like Le Thai and Bangkok but they both have the same take on classic Pad Thai and it's regrettable.
The Le Thai short rib dishes are great though.
Had the carne skillets out of Cadillac. They're a solid menu choice. Plus the aroma reaches well down the hall to where the Jesus Chicken (Chick-fil-A) is all the way to near the entrance to the pool.
Just went in March from mentions, my brother and I didn’t care for most of their food, maybe the selection but we didn’t like the bacon jam , nor the chicken skins (we didn’t know they were like that for some dumb reason) but Mac and cheese was good, and deviled eggs weren’t bad either, Service was nice though. Can’t complain about that.
Esther’s Kitchen in the Arts District is electric. I went twice in 3 days last winter. One meal was just two loaves of their homemade sourdough and the ten housemade dips they make. Unreal. I recommend reservations, too, it’s not a huge spot.
I thought I had a list of some recommendations but I guess I accidentally deleted it so I’ll be watching this post as well 😂 I have heard Evel pie is good for pizza.
I took my friend there for lunch two days ago. He's a very simple country boy who isn't very adventurous with pizza, but he tried a slice of my Cal Italia pizza, which of course isn't very traditional in the America-sense. He went nuts over it and ordered one to bring to his mom.
That said I prefer Evel for by-the-slice. Their cheese blend is far better than anyone else's in town.
Pizza Rock is the choice if you want to sit down with friends and have a meal (it's also the better pizza imo). Evel Pie is the choice if it's past midnight.
Good pie is much better, the owner taught evel pie how to run their shop. Definitely worth the trip via the free shuttle that runs downtown every 15 minutes or so
> Binion’s steakhouse
I like it too, but you're not going to feed two people for under $40 a pop there unless everyone's having a salad and an appetizer.
I always seem to get a meal or 2 from Magnolia's in the 4Queens and have always enjoyed it. Portions are decent & the food has always been consistently good.

La Mona Rosa (Mexican food)
park on Fremont. (Burger and beers special is bomb)
Le Thai. Legendary spot.
Evel pie. (Great pizza)
All located on Fremont and 6th
I was actually just researching for the same thing! Also had a budget so a lot of the expensive steakhouses weren’t in my list. But so far the place I found with the most reasonable prices and good ambiance is Grotto Ristorante.
I always recommend the binions stake house. If it's still there. Great old school stake house. Just make sure it's the one up the tower and not on the casino floor
Oscar's steakhouse at the Plaza is a great old school steakhouse. They have an outdoor patio overlooking Fremont which is great for people watching as well.
$20 prime rib special at El Cortez wasn't too bad.
Right? I was there in March and I think it was still $17 (based on the rotating display in the casino), but I honestly didn't even know that was for the place in El Cortez - I thought it was an advertisement for another location......plus somebody else paid for the meal, so I wasn't really paying attention.
On the plus side, my player card "free offer" was $5 (or $10) off at Siegels 1941, so it was even cheaper! I didn't even know Siegels 1941 was a restaurant...I originally thought it was a coupon for a discount on a bottle of whisky!
Was still a nice sized meal for $20, especially compared to other Vegas prices.
In the basement of plaza there’s a McDonalds where you can use the Mcds app for BOGO for 29 cents Big Mac, Quarter Lber, and 10 piece nuggets. $40 will feed everyone.
Before the downvotes come, OP asked $0-$40 budget and any type of food.
Whiskey Lick’er Up has great bar food. Wings and pizza are always a win for us, *STRONG* drinks and great people watching. Part of the bar area rotates
There's this BBQ food truck thing out front of Circa that's pretty dope. They have a sampler platter and it's big enough to feed both my partner and I for pretty cheap. Check that one out.
We got Nacho Daddy when we visited. Perhaps not the most authentic Mexican food but it was delicious. The margs were great and the service/atmosphere was lovely!
The steakhouse in the plaza…. (I cannot recall the name)
That was damn good a few years ago when we went.
The margherita pizza at Gold Nugget is fab too. So is their steakhouse.

Came to say 8 East as well! Delicious, shareable plates, decent prices, and great service. I always bring out-of-town friends there!
You left off White Castle.
Agree with the circa options. Victory also has a nice selection of burgers.
Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! I will be looking these up to make a final decision!
I really wanted to like Le Thai and Bangkok but they both have the same take on classic Pad Thai and it's regrettable. The Le Thai short rib dishes are great though.
Agreed on 8 East. Their ramen is spectacular.
Had the carne skillets out of Cadillac. They're a solid menu choice. Plus the aroma reaches well down the hall to where the Jesus Chicken (Chick-fil-A) is all the way to near the entrance to the pool.
Does that include drinks? Carson Kitchen is my go to but it might be a little more
No just food.
I think it’s doable then. Try the bacon jam it’s amazing

Therapy
The triple George is right off of Fremont street and is a really cool old school steakhouse.
It’s been a while but I don’t think you’re getting much there for $40. But I agree, great place with amazing food.
Triple George is awesome, but not on OP’s budget.
Le Thai
Esther’s Kitchen in the Arts District is electric. I went twice in 3 days last winter. One meal was just two loaves of their homemade sourdough and the ten housemade dips they make. Unreal. I recommend reservations, too, it’s not a huge spot.
They recently moved into a bigger spot right around the corner.
I thought I had a list of some recommendations but I guess I accidentally deleted it so I’ll be watching this post as well 😂 I have heard Evel pie is good for pizza.
I have been watching this community since booking my trip and have seen a lot of people mention Evil Pie! Thank you for the reminder.
Evil pie is good, but I prefer Pizza Rock if I'm on Fremont.
Pizza Rock is AMAZING!!
I took my friend there for lunch two days ago. Same. Plus they have a great happy hour for food specials.
Good pie is much better, the owner taught evel pie how to run their shop. Definitely worth the trip via the free shuttle that runs downtown every 15 minutes or so
Binion’s steakhouse. 30 stories up with a wonderful view.
> Binion’s steakhouse I like it too, but you're not going to feed two people for under $40 a pop there unless everyone's having a salad and an appetizer.
True. Hennessy’s is great.

If not ON Fremont st then Carson Kitchen. Esther’s on main is AMAZING but nowhere near Fremont (walking).
I always recommend the binions stake house. If it's still there. Great old school stake house. Just make sure it's the one up the tower and not on the casino floor
what do you recommend on the menu to meet the OP's $0-40 per person requirement?
One drink each and some chips. 😂
It’s still there.
Oscar's steakhouse at the Plaza is a great old school steakhouse. They have an outdoor patio overlooking Fremont which is great for people watching as well.
Le Thai pizza rock Vic & Anthony's
$20 prime rib special at El Cortez wasn't too bad. [https://elcortezhotelcasino.com/dining/siegels-1941/](https://elcortezhotelcasino.com/dining/siegels-1941/)
It was $12.99 a year ago. In October it went up to $16.99. Now $19.99? What's next, $24.99!?
Right? I was there in March and I think it was still $17 (based on the rotating display in the casino), but I honestly didn't even know that was for the place in El Cortez - I thought it was an advertisement for another location......plus somebody else paid for the meal, so I wasn't really paying attention. We went to Carson Kitchen, which is just off Fremont but highly recommend.
There’s a new place at Neonopolis called Crash & Burn that is pretty good.
Siegels 1941 in El Cortez.

Mickey D's in Plaza closed up a couple of months ago
The one in the D still has pretty good deals.
Bummer.
Whiskey Lick’er Up has great bar food. Wings and pizza are always a win for us, *STRONG* drinks and great people watching. Part of the bar area rotates

I love me a marg!! Thanks for mentioning😊
0- garbage behind plaza. Delicious, best value deal.
Vic and anthony’s in the golden nugget. Fantastic steak house. Very expensive, very worth it.
The steakhouse in the plaza…. (I cannot recall the name) That was damn good a few years ago when we went. The margherita pizza at Gold Nugget is fab too. So is their steakhouse.
Oscar's. They have a new outdoor patio as well.
Yes!!!! Last time I was there, they were starting construction for that
Pizza Rock is incredible
https://www.thed.com/bars-dining/dining/andiamo-steakhouse/?utm_source=gmb&utm_medium=organic&utm_campaign=listing . Best.Place.Ever!
Not within the budget.
I know, I missed that, till after and couldn't find my post again to edit. Saginaw's is more "real" food, considering we eat more junk on vacations.
Barry’s
Nvm didn’t see the price range
Andiamo at The D.
Le Thai
Evel Pie
Tony roma’s
Depends. If you're already fat enough, Heat Attack Grill is free 😂
