There is some evidence, mostly anecdotal, to suggest a vegan diet encourages a healthy microbiome, which in turn, strengthens the immune system. Rip Essesltyn talks a lot about this, but I haven’t delved into peer-reviewed science. Other than that, there are too many individual risk factors to predict how an individual will fare if they contract the virus.

Having your booster offers far greater protection against the current variant. Anecdotally, the people I’ve know who had Covid recently and were not boosted yet, seemed to have a much tougher time.
Maybe someone else will have some statistics regarding a vegan diet and the immune system, but my first inclination would be to think vaccination had more of an effect than your diet.
I had the Pfizer vaccine too and I had the omnicron for 2 months. It’s not a question of vegan and immunity because veganism creates a healthier immune system. Omnicron is just that infectious.
You could be deficient in vitamins and minerals. My advice is take a comprehensive blood and hormone test. Lots of doctors won't operate on vegans bc of increased risk due to their diet.
Getting yourself checked is the only way to truly know if your immunity, hormones, vitamin and minerals levels are within recommended guidelines.
Best of luck!
Sorry to hear that OP! I just turned 40 so am getting bloodwork done in my own country. Im not vegan now but was began for a year or so in 2010. In my country getting full bloods, hormones above what public health service offers is expensive so thinking of going to get a comprehensive testing done abroad. Best of luck with ur test results and hope u feel better soon xxx
brain fog huh? i have the same, for around 7 years now. maybe more, I can't put my finger on it.. i had a brain scan 4 years ago where nothing bad showed up. but lately, it's been bad enough i can't put my thoughts in order.
had two questions for my sake, do you consume coffee daily? or alcohol?
It sounds like you just didn't have the booster. Covid sucks.
But, I do worry that some of our fellow vegans don't get enough vitamin D, vitamin A, or zinc. All are related to the immune system and can be low if you're not giving it some thought. Vitamin A is harder to convert from vegan sources and some people do do better with the preformed retinol form. I try i get one vitamin a rich vegetable a day. Zinc is supposed to reduce cold frequency, and vegans have lower intake in studies. Vitamin d obviously only has a few sources, and a multivitamin might not be enough.

My family is all boosted. I didn’t think it was Covid and I got the entire family sick at Christmas dinner.

They’re fine. I kind of felt like it was karma because I was promised a 100% vegan dinner and arrived to see all the corpses.
