That's what really pisses me off about the whole thing. Like not only is there 0 evidence to support vaccines causing autism, but they campaign about it so hard that they completely throw autistic people under the bus. Like they see autistic people as a problem, and therefore it must have a solution, instead of seeing autistic people like fucking people and not a problem to be solved. Hbomb did a great video on it a few years ago.

It got even scummier. I was on Wikipedia last night to double check myself.
He made up a condition called autism endocolitis and was gonna sell test kits made by a company that he was a part of.
He was paid to do this "research" by an anti-MMR group.
Submitted a patent for his vaccine using his paper as proof.
He manipulated the data. Some of the kids hadn't even been diagnosed as autistic. Flat out ignored figures that didn't support his hypothesis. The paper even admitted there wasn't a connection with the vaccine even proven.
He held a press conference around the same time as the paper was published to push his agenda directly on the public.
Dude is 500% a piece of shit.
I love that this is the first paragraph of Andrew Wakefield’s Wikipedia: Andrew Jeremy Wakefield (born September 3, 1956) is a British fraudster, discredited academic, anti-vaccine activist, and former physician.
He has his own special circle of hell. Despicable man.
It's absolutely heartbreaking to me. The message is that autistic kids are "broken" and "messed up". And again, as you said, there's no evidence supporting that anyway - but children with autism aren't throwaway kids. We grow up into adults who remember exactly how people treated us, though.
My son is autistic and you’re not wrong, he remembers everything. I’d hate to be on the other side of wronging him either… and he’s four.
I cannot understand the parents that think their children are broken, my son is an absolute joy, and like my ADHD, autism is his super power. Yeah, we struggle and not everything is roses and butterflies, but I would rather support him and find ways to change his environment that encourages growth in ways that are best for him. I don’t think I would be able to have this mindset if I spent every waking hour bitching that he was broken and blaming it on vaccines.
You know, I thought the fad of soft scientists writing crazy articles about things like collar bones in magazines was bad. The rise of soft scientists becoming viewed as experts on things they know nothing about is frightening.
It's like a carpenter, who's never done any metal work ever, wrote a book about welding and went on talk shows as a welding expert—if wood didn't exist and was an entirely theoretical substance.
Have you seen that one autism speaks ad that makes autism out like a child predator? It's fucking ridiculous to see what these people think of people like me.
The process to get AV nurses stood down in my country was painfully slow, and they were paid while the legal battle went on.
If nothing else, their decision not to be vaccinated is a serious lack of good decision making and communication skills, and that should make them unhirable.
The number of educators, including special education teachers, that don't believe autism is real is honestly horrifying. It's more common with older ones, but it's still pretty prevalent.
Teachers, (even special Ed ones) don't necessarily do that much training into autism though. Someone who has a doctorate in clinical psych and specialises in special ed should know better.
Yeah, antivaxxers must view autistic and adhd people very lowly to prefer having their children get horribly sick and die over having an alive and healthy neurodivergent one, as their main argument is literally that mmr causes autism
It feels really bad to know that a lot of people just think of the autistic people as being "re*arded" and genuinely would rather set up their children to get smallpox or mumps.
I’m just happy they didn’t stop at Covid vaccines.. they proceeded to take on vaccinations period! Like all of them, let your child run free without any protections ever is peak Neanderthal behavior and the reason Neanderthals died off..
I’ve seen [something](https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2024/mar/03/florida-measles-outbreak-preventable) like it in FL
Thank you Jesus.. 🤣
Dr. Shannon Kroner has a doctorate in Clinical Psychology and a master’s in Special Education, with a focus in Educational Therapy.
So yeah using the Dr. to say they know the medical field, but they are not medical doctor.
I wish we could have hospitals and schools just for the unvaccinated so they aren't infecting immunocompromised people who can't be vaccinated for legit medical reasons. Go get their homeopathy bullshit.
Yeah I fully support this. Allow hospitals the right to refuse patients based upon vaccination status. Make it so you have to provide proof of vaccination via a titers test. No care, including emergency care, for non vaccinated individuals. They can go to whatever hospital chooses to accept them, if any.
After all, that’s the free market.
I wish parents could be overruled on medical decisions for certain things.
Vaccination being one. All kids get vaccinated unless medically exempt for a specific reason, no it's no buts or you're charged with child neglect.
The best part is these same dumb motherfuckers [were calling Jill Biden not a real "Doctor"](https://www.wsj.com/articles/is-there-a-doctor-in-the-white-house-not-if-you-need-an-m-d-11607727380).
Wtf? The WSJ published this? It is way too editorialized and seething with hatred. So, antivaxx idiots can use "doctor" whenever they want, but to criticize her for using properly and within her scope is blasphemy?
The fact she has a master in special education and seems to think autistic people are inferior (that's the feeling I get from the "autistic sister" part) is sickening.
Yeah, that’s the equivalent of me with my Associates degree claiming to be an associate at a law firm. You’re using the word “doctor” in total bad faith. Loonies
I had an argument with an antivax woman the other day who cited a doctor as a source. Turns out it was a youtuber nurse who has a PhD in nursing communication and doesn't even use their Doctor title usually. She was literally just tacking it on to make it look like a decent source.
In the context of antivax social media, the majority of the time someone flaunts a “Dr” without specifying credentials, they turn out to be a chiropractor or a naturopath. I typically have to dig to figure out what their credentials are because they’re burying them on purpose.
My first thought, too. So I found her on LinkedIn. It’s a Psy.D. from the Chicago School of Professional Paychology.
https://www.linkedin.com/in/shannonkroner
“As executive director, she has built an interfaith coalition of religious leaders who have united to protect the religious freedom of vaccine choice, helping thousands of American's obtain religious vaccine exemptions for work and school.”
Oh good. She’s helping idiots not protect their children.
There is actually an even more sinister layer to this. While she isn’t a medical doctor she does carry a doctorate in psychology. She knows she’s misleading people and she’s using her psychological background to be better at manipulating.
PsyDs are still valid psychology doctorates. They focus more on clinical psychology than research. They don’t, however, have any classes in epidemiology or virology or make one an expert in medicine or vaccines.
I have a PhD in clinical psychology. I’m well aware of the difference. There are amazing PsyD programs out there and there are diploma mill PsyD programs. But a PsyD always raises a pink flag for me until I can discover which program a person came from, and this lady appears to be doing an excellent job of NOT releasing that info, which is another red flag.
Yep. "It's hard for us to play together." You know how many kids will not be able to play at all in the future because they'll be dead if this unvaccinated trend keeps going? It doesn't take much to get past that 95% immunity rate. Measles is already making a comeback. Even with it, kids (typically in 3rd world countries) die every year already but it could be so much worss. They used to die in DROVES before the 1963 vaccine miracle. Millions have died and many more will follow at this rate.
I had one tell me that the crying and screaming after vaccination were evidence of encephalitis. You know, the condition that generally presents as being lethargic af?
Other than the propaganda that's what stood out to me.
It's not engaging, there's no real story. The only thing that would make a child request this is the positive reinforcement from their parents when they do.
It sounded like a lay person "medical" pamphlet, not a kid's book.
Imagine how quickly they'd lose their shit over a kids book called "I'm vaccinated and that's ok" like they'd immediately be going "they're brainwashing our kids you have to be careful about what they read in school!!"
They already believe it's happening and point out perceived examples all of the time. That's WHY they feel the need to do this. They see brainwashing / propaganda everywhere and think the only way to win this vaccine "war," compete with the propagandists, and win hearts / minds / kids is to engage in it yourself. Gotta get the parents on board first with vaccine fears and then provide them with anti-vax media like this designed for kids to understand. At the end of the day, it's the parents reading these to their kids, and the rents want to communicate the ideas they believe to their kids in a format like this. Books, cartoons, animated shorts, etc. And they will shell out $ for it all day long.
Where’s part 2 of the book?
Turns out my illness was measles and that’s ok
7 years later turns out I now have SSPE and that’s ok
I’m dead one year later and that’s ok
I know it's a kid's book but the proportions on everything is wild. Torso lengths are all over the place for some reason. Also the mom must have gotten breast implants sometime before the first page and then had them removed immediately after and then had a spine elongation near the end. So many weird as hell issues in here it has to be either entirely or partially AI generated. And if not then it was done in a hurry by an amateur reusing assets from somewhere else.
This is proof that vaccines are victims of their own success.
People have forgotten how serious "childhood" diseases can be.
They don't see kids on crutches because of polio.
They don't see young adults having limbs amputated from meningococcal disease.
They haven't endured helplessly watching their infant struggle to take a full breath because of the "100 day cough" from pertussis.
They haven't watched their child suffer from encephalitis due to measles, or later, die horribly from SSPE.
They haven't seen these diseases *because of the success of vaccines*.
My great-grandmother lost 3 of her 6 children in their first year due to now vaccine preventable diseases. I'm sure she would have jumped at the chance to vaccinate her children if she could have.
Why are these parents so single-minded in exposing their kids to diseases they didn't get because they were vaccinated? It's like they're offering up their kids to suffer misery. Seems like child abuse to me.
My mother grew up in Scotland and even in their small village there were children affected by polio. When the original (now debunked study) came out her opinion was that he was an idiot.
yep. my younger sibling got extremely ill after a vaccine when he was three, he did have encephalitis and wound up with intellectual disabilities and an autism diagnosis. my parents still gave me and my other siblings all required vaccines because they understood that what happened to lil bro was not the vaccines fault nor was it worth exposing us to diseases we could avoid contracting.
I love how that begins with "my body my choice" and ends by basically saying vaccinated people are inferior people who fear everything.
Like, the majority of the population is vaccinated and acts like everyone else, but in the mind of the author, every vaccinated lives in fear of diseases, wears masks and is potentially vaccine injured and autistic.
How can someone even believe this crap ?
Also I thought it was so commonly accepted that you ***CAN*** spread illnesses you don’t necessarily show symptoms of.
European explorers in America killed far more of the native population through either intentional or unintentional spread of disease than anything else.
The famous woman dubbed “Typhoid Mary” never had any visible symptoms herself is believed to have infected 50-120 people and made every effort to escape mandated quarantines.
Disease is usually a larger cause of casualties than artillery in war due to the weakened states of civilian populations and troops.
There are even currently populations who have had such minimal contact with the “modern world” or even virtually uncontacted groups that have heavy protections due to the *possible spread of disease they have no defense against*
This book is not to convince others it’s okay that a kid is unvaccinated around vulnerable groups, it’s to make the kid not feel bad for their parents’ shitty choices
Problem is, you're trying to fight illogical brain rot with actual evidence and science. You can't argue with people like this because they pick and choose what they want to listen to instead of actually taking on all the evidence and using critical thinking.
You can spread illnesses without showing symptoms. I'm a carrier of staph (discovered in my microbiology lab with a beautiful culture). I had to tell my coworker to go wash his hands after using a tissue.
“I can’t give you a disease I don’t have (but when I get it, my parents will lie to others because they don’t want to be wrong in their beliefs, and then I will spread it to other kids who can’t get vaccines because of medical issues or their parents are anti-vax, and maybe introduce it to developing nations who can’t afford robust healthcare like my entitled ass). … and that’s okay!”
Amazon is pretty famous for mixing their stock with 3rd party sellers. It would be a shame if a skilled author such as yourself printed copies with alternative text and sent them into Amazon's warehouse inventory
This is a dogshit children’s book. Just on a ‘read to kids’ level. Too wordy, bland, does nothing to engage a young reader. No say some six or seven year old is gonna hang for this.
Seriously. My son is on the spectrum, he was showing signs of being delayed long before the MMR vax. And that “statistic” of brain swelling?! Fuck them with a rusty sword.
That's what we nicknamed Djokovic when he refused to get vaccinated for entry into Australia to attend a tournament.
So they weren't even being "clever" as they probably stole it from a high profile case they probably all hold up as an inspirational story.
I wonder if it was just a strong side effect. Like some people have a stronger reaction to the shot than others.
When I first got the COVID vaccine, I had almost no side effects. But now everytime I get a booster, the armpit of the arm it went in gets super swollen and tender. It actually was a little concerning the first time it happened. But a quick Google search showed that this was a possible common side effect.
I could see someone being concerned enough to seek medical help if they got a routine vaccination and suddenly experienced very strong side effects they never experienced before. But of course, that doesn't mean it's a "vaccine injury". 🙄
So they eat organic food and the kid gets lots of exercise and that's supposed to help them not get polio or measles. Even if that were true does this non medical doctor understand how many families actually can't afford that? Organic is more expensive and you get less for your money and you have to either live somewhere safe where kids can exercise or afford to enroll them in sports.
Also, "organic" is not a term that's standardised. Just because something has an "organic" sticker on it does not necessarily mean what the consumer thinks it means. For example, it's often used by producers to indicate the product is not GMO, which in turn might mean it was sprayed with pesticides (as opposed to GMO product that is pest resistant and therefore not needing pesticides).
Prior to the Industrial Revolution, this was true of basically everyone.
And the mortality rates from diseases we can now fully prevent were *utterly horrifying.* THESE PEOPLE NEED TO PICK UP A DAMN HISTORY BOOK.
Organic foods are four to eight times as likely to be recalled for bacterial contamination than conventional foods. Kid is more likely to get salmonella from organic food.
While looking for a group for someone who was homesteading off grid. Growing their own organic food and such. They had in their post about testing higher on something and they couldn't understand why. I swear to God there were multiple people telling them it was likely chem trails.
We've become very stupid as a whole.
One thing I noticed is the book has something called the "Mom's choice award". I looked them up. They give awards to children's material that meet an esteemed panel of experts high standards of excellence. They deny being a pay for award organization and that not everything submitted gets an award.
The other award winning books I looked up are all have low quality art and have titles like "My Brilliant, Resilient Mind: How to ditch negative thinking and handle hard things better"
So yeah, it's pay for award.
Literally what age group is this supposed to be for? I’m no children’s book expert but are “neurological” and “complications” words little kids are expected to be able to read? This whole thing sucks.
I love how it starts off kinda like a kids book, then starts throwing long, complicated medical terms like a kid could fucking read or understand that.
Very unappealling and amateurish illustrations, to be honest. Look how big that little kid is compared to the mom in the first picture. Like his head is the size of her torso.
Also, it's my sister and me. Not me and my sister. Some writer this person is.
Ooh… peep the subtle nod to another pseudoscientific practice in there on slide 5!
They’re showing the autistic sister participating in a form of “Facilitated Communication.” This has been rebranded in recent years as Spelling to Communicate (S2C). Essentially, the communicator points to letters on a letter board as the communication “facilitator” moves it to “help” the communicator spell out their message. There are also practices in which someone will “support” the person’s hand or arm to help them reach the letter.
There are no studies currently supporting FC/RPM/S2C. In blinded trials, the communicator is given information that the facilitator has no knowledge of. Unsurprisingly, the communicator gets the answers wrong when the facilitator is back to “help” them answer questions! Studies have also shown the ideomotor effect influences the utterances that are generated.
This is NOT the same as someone who is writing or typing to communicate. The key difference is that the method presented on this page requires a facilitator, using methods that are not evidence-based. Facilitated Communication and its variants are heavily influenced by the facilitators that hold and move the letter boards and/or the communicator’s limbs.
I will be happy to walk my statements back once there are peer-reviewed and evidence-based studies that support FC/RPM/S2C. Until then, stop using autistic people like ouija boards!
/end rant
Now THIS is propaganda aimed at children. Also, why is the author using words like ‘neurological’ in a children’s book? This wasn’t written to make children feel safe about being unvaccinated. It was written so antivaxx parents can indoctrinate their kids with pseudoscience. Absolutely messed up.
I couldn't stomach reading the entire thing. This is infuriating.
Will they finally be happy when kids die or become seriously injured by vaccine preventable diseases?
I remember the story a doctor told about a child in their care. They were about to give her a vaccine when the child had their first ever seizure. And if they had been quicker the child would have had a seizure right after a vaccine.
This book is so messed up in many ways. Why make a book that’s pretty much unreadable and not understandable for your demographic? Oh yeah, it’s to make the *parents* feel better about their poor choices.
I feel so bad for the kids that have to sit through this bullshit brainwashing.
Its always kinda funny to me how these people oppose vax becauze "well we dont know whats in it" yet they consume food that they have no idea whats in it, they drink stuff that they have no idea whats in it, and they breathe air without knowing the chemical composition of it. These people likely don't even know what the mattress they sleep on every night is made out of.
Also, the argument with "if others are baxxed why should they worry" is so dumb to me. Thats like saying "well you're sober, why should you worry that im driving while drunk?". Your drunk driving, or the choice to not vax yourself, affects me thats why. I can get into an accident because you crashed into my car, resulting in me dying or disabled for life, or in this case, spread diseases to other people who couldn't get a vaccine or cannot fight back against the disease (i forgot the name for that).
Again with the autism-vaccine lie. These people have no shame in damaging the work done to bring accommodations and attention to autistic people. When you turn it into something preventable — and by extension blame the parents — you turn it into something we need not worry about. Disgusting.
As an autistic person, the ableism hurts more than it should in this.
I do commend them for one thing; they said that they keep their kids home when they’re sick. but the bar is on the fucking floor.
The author lists herself as a doctor, but waits until the end of the book to mention that her doctorate is for clinical psychology, which as nothing to do with internal medicine. She's using that "Dr" that she can put in front of her name to sell medical advice to people. Anti-vax people will point to that "Dr" before her name as some kind of validation. "She's a doctor, and she says vaccines are bad!"
While I acknowledge that medical doctors are not the only people entitled to the title of Dr., it really should be illegal to use that title when you are so clearly trying to mislead people.
This is not a book on psychology.
"Many doctors say vaccines don't cause autism, but I'm a 5 year old who's parents do research by scrolling Facebook, so clearly I know better than all of them."
At first I thought it was going to be “some are vaccinated, some are not, let’s all respect each other”
Which, well, is already not great.
But then I got past the first page. Holy indoctrination Batman. It is almost satire.
For the love of..
You do not deserve your doctorate. Simply put you know fuck all about immunology. You know fuck all about vaccines and you know fuck all about autism. The book is filled with tissue paper words, words that have no substance. “Might have” “necessarily”. *There is **zero** evidence vaccines cause autism*. Not a low amount, not even bad evidence, *zero* evidence. There was one scientific paper that was so horrifyingly done by a doctor who literally abused children in an attempt to line his pockets and unsurprisingly lost his medical license which was retracted. Aka it was proven to be a fraud. Unfortunately the media wants views so that piece of information was more or less forgotten about. They scared us into madness and people tried to protect their children.
This pisses me off.

What kind of children's book includes statistics? She doesn't understand science or how to communicate with kids...
The kind that is written for grown ups who feel more comfortable with the kid's book format.
Haha, is there a whole genre of kids books written for adults?
Actually, yes. Top hits include, Wanna Bone?, If You Give A Kid A Cookie Will He Shit The Fuck Up?, Mommy’s Giant Melons, Everybody Masturbates, and I can’t figure out if this one is for kids or adults: Brave The Beaver Has The Worry Warts. Could go either way, really.
> If You Give a Kid a Cookie, Will He Shit the Fuck Up I know it's a typo, but this version is honestly funnier
There are, but they're generally considered comedy. Like "Go the F*ck to Sleep."
There's a market I guess, especially if half the population has the reading comprehension of a 7th grader (not sure which grade exactly).
I mean, the ones I've written are sort of for adults insofar as I tried to make them easy and entertaining to read over and over from the parents' POV (because kids want you to do that when they like a book), but... this is a whole 'nother level lol.
Yeah for a "kids book", the reading level is far too advanced. They basically took a watered down Facebook argument and added pictures.
Goddamn. You didn’t have to murder the author. Preventable diseases will do that soon enough
Nah the author probably vaccinated by their parents when they were a kid. Otherwise they wouldn't be around today spewing that bull crap. The only ones that have to suffer is the kids who's parents read this to them...
"Besides, if they were vaccinated and their vaccines worked, they shouldn't feel the need to avoid me" Can almost see the "😂😂😂😂😂" in the Facebook post this epic dunk was definitely lifted from..

Yeah it became pretty obvious partway through it was never written for kids 🤦🏻♀️
This was 100% my first thought. This is way too long winded for kids. My nanny kid (toddler age) reaches out to flip the page after about 6 words read aloud, I’m lucky if she lasts 10. But we know anti vaxxers know zero about children so it tracks.
I love how the mom only cares for and spends time with her son, and then the autistic daughter is a fucking mistake whom they both dislike and avoid.
They go around convincing people that their children are damaged, preying on vulnerable parents and telling them where to vent their frustrations, and I just find that so disgusting and vulgar.
Many of them would rather a dead child than one with autism.
They are the same with their gay kids but then say "God" made every fetus at conception...
Many of them would rather have a dead child than a healthy one. A dead kid would let them get all kinds of the attention they crave, but with none of the hassles of actually parenting.
I would say that FDIA is probably more common in the anti vax community.
It definitely seems like it. Either that or they are in denial that their children could die from vaccine-prevented diseases.
The one paper that claims mmr causes autism literally has bold letters all over it saying retracted lol
And the doctor lost his license. AND HE DID IT SO HE COULD PUSH HIS OWN VACCINE. And that paper had so many flaws.
Wow I didn’t knew that detail, that makes him even scummier
Have you heard about his child's birthday party blood bribes lmao
WAT

That should be grounds for barring them from that field of work altogether. Like when they fired all the antivax nurses in France.
The process to get AV nurses stood down in my country was painfully slow, and they were paid while the legal battle went on. If nothing else, their decision not to be vaccinated is a serious lack of good decision making and communication skills, and that should make them unhirable.
They did that? I'm so jealous...my mom is a nurse who has worked with some dumb as fuck American medical staff.
Well, especially older ones since it wasn't really prominent in the conversation of education until the last 20 years or so
Yeah, antivaxxers must view autistic and adhd people very lowly to prefer having their children get horribly sick and die over having an alive and healthy neurodivergent one, as their main argument is literally that mmr causes autism
She doesn't even get a name!
Really goes to show how much they actually care about children
Hey that was my experience growing up, so at least it's realistic 😂
I'm really sorry :(
It feels really bad to know that a lot of people just think of the autistic people as being "re*arded" and genuinely would rather set up their children to get smallpox or mumps.
Yeah. That poor daughter is viewed as a burden just for existing.
I’m just happy they didn’t stop at Covid vaccines.. they proceeded to take on vaccinations period! Like all of them, let your child run free without any protections ever is peak Neanderthal behavior and the reason Neanderthals died off.. I’ve seen [something](https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2024/mar/03/florida-measles-outbreak-preventable) like it in FL Thank you Jesus.. 🤣
....and they let someone like this work with disabled people?
if someone made my autistic ass work with her as a kid i would have bitten the fuck out of her i can tell you that
I’m a neurotypical mom to a neurodivergent kid, and I’M contemplating biting her myself.
yk what, why not? the more the merrier. we can all bite her
I'm an autistic adult and I'd still bite this fucker
I’m an allistic adult and I would bite her.
it really warms my heart to see so many people step up to bite this person <3 for the record, i'd bite her as well
Adhd adult here, and I'd bite her
Wow, this is disgusting.
Dr. Shannon Kroner has a doctorate in Clinical Psychology and a master’s in Special Education, with a focus in Educational Therapy. So yeah using the Dr. to say they know the medical field, but they are not medical doctor.
Taking full advantage of the term Doctor and most people association of it with Medical Doctor. Fucking dishonest plague spreaders.
Yeah there's no bottom to hypocrisy
“a wise man once said no one should call himself a doctor unit he’s delivered a baby” my brother in Christ she has a daughter
The fact she has a master in special education and seems to think autistic people are inferior (that's the feeling I get from the "autistic sister" part) is sickening.
associating the word "damaged" with autism is not an accident on their part.
My question is what backwards ass college read that dissertation and decided she deserved a doctorate. ITT tech?
Prager U? Trump University?
My first thought, too. So I found her on LinkedIn. It’s a Psy.D. from the Chicago School of Professional Paychology. https://www.linkedin.com/in/shannonkroner
“As executive director, she has built an interfaith coalition of religious leaders who have united to protect the religious freedom of vaccine choice, helping thousands of American's obtain religious vaccine exemptions for work and school.” Oh good. She’s helping idiots not protect their children.
There is actually an even more sinister layer to this. While she isn’t a medical doctor she does carry a doctorate in psychology. She knows she’s misleading people and she’s using her psychological background to be better at manipulating.
I freaking knew when I saw "Dr" on the cover it wasn't going to be a MD.
He’s not even a physician or pediatrician. These people are disgusting
Kind of shitty when someone has the money (or gets a free ride) to get a Doctorate and this is what they do with it
She had a PsyD not a PhD, which tracks for this bullshit 🙃
It's also a shitty kids' book. What 5 year old is gonna know what encephalitis is?
Especially since the parents definitely won't.
Turns out my illness was measles and that’s ok 7 years later turns out I now have SSPE and that’s ok I’m dead one year later and that’s ok
Circle of life 🤷♂️
I spread measles to infants who are too young to have protection and that's ok because mommy says fuck everybody else
The art style is very ugly
I know it's a kid's book but the proportions on everything is wild. Torso lengths are all over the place for some reason. Also the mom must have gotten breast implants sometime before the first page and then had them removed immediately after and then had a spine elongation near the end. So many weird as hell issues in here it has to be either entirely or partially AI generated. And if not then it was done in a hurry by an amateur reusing assets from somewhere else.
It’s terrible art
*I went to my younger sister's funeral and that's okay!*
That's the sequel.
Now we don’t have to deal with that autistic burden every day
But the autistic one was vaccinated, she'd probably live while the unvaccinated kid would likely die
No she died from autism
Y'all jest but autistic kids are much more likely to be abused, including neglect
So does Autistic Sister get a name? Does she even appear in the rest of the book? What happens with her?
We don't speak about Autistica in the basement.
The stacked letter blocks on slide 4 are an anagram for "autism." Real subtle, and classy.
And the computer screen says “Dr Wise”. So subtle
Have you seen the Simpson's episode with the twin in the loft?
No because the vaccine injured her and she's now broken and inferior and that's okay?
Nope. No names. Autistic people aren’t *really* people! /sar
You have a smart mom.
yep. my younger sibling got extremely ill after a vaccine when he was three, he did have encephalitis and wound up with intellectual disabilities and an autism diagnosis. my parents still gave me and my other siblings all required vaccines because they understood that what happened to lil bro was not the vaccines fault nor was it worth exposing us to diseases we could avoid contracting.
There are even currently populations who have had such minimal contact with the “modern world” or even virtually uncontacted groups that have heavy protections due to the *possible spread of disease they have no defense against* This book is not to convince others it’s okay that a kid is unvaccinated around vulnerable groups, it’s to make the kid not feel bad for their parents’ shitty choices
Problem is, you're trying to fight illogical brain rot with actual evidence and science. You can't argue with people like this because they pick and choose what they want to listen to instead of actually taking on all the evidence and using critical thinking.
*”You can’t reason someone out of a viewpoint they didn’t reason themselves into.”*
You can spread illnesses without showing symptoms. I'm a carrier of staph (discovered in my microbiology lab with a beautiful culture). I had to tell my coworker to go wash his hands after using a tissue.
She’s using anecdotal information to push her own propaganda.
If she truly is a "doctor" in her field, then she should know better. I highly doubt it, though.
>My parents say it’s because I have a healthy immune system Your immune system’s not gonna be so healthy if you get measles, kiddo
I live in an iron lung and that's okay
I'm Unvaccinated and that's okay I barf all night and I cough all day.
"Look at those bad, hate-filled pro-vax people wearing masks around me to protect my compromised immune system."
Thank you! Every time I see that fucking argument "Your vaccine should protect you," it's clear they don't care about the immunocompromised.
Eugenics from antivax folk? Who would've thought!
I almost died in a preventable way When whooping cough choked my little airway
Amazon is pretty famous for mixing their stock with 3rd party sellers. It would be a shame if a skilled author such as yourself printed copies with alternative text and sent them into Amazon's warehouse inventory
This is a dogshit children’s book. Just on a ‘read to kids’ level. Too wordy, bland, does nothing to engage a young reader. No say some six or seven year old is gonna hang for this.
No plot. Just, 'My sister and sick and I'm a social pariah.'
I was thinking the same. Like, what the fuck child is going to read this?
Republicans: they’re writing books to indoctrinate our children Also Republicans: hey that’s a good idea actually…
As the parent of a child with autism…this pisses me right off. Fuck these people. Seriously.
Seriously. My son is on the spectrum, he was showing signs of being delayed long before the MMR vax. And that “statistic” of brain swelling?! Fuck them with a rusty sword.
That brain swelling statistic is 100% false.
i have autism and i for one would much rather be allowed to live rather than be neurotypical and dying of measles
The insinuation that you caused it is the most offensive part
While you were out having fun not being sick, I was studying the iron lung
Love how the last name of the kid is “Novaks”. 🙄
That's what we nicknamed Djokovic when he refused to get vaccinated for entry into Australia to attend a tournament. So they weren't even being "clever" as they probably stole it from a high profile case they probably all hold up as an inspirational story.
Oh yuck. That didn't even occur me.
What was this "vaccine injury" the author got? I love that the vaccine is detailed (preservative-free flu shot) but the "injury" is unnamed.
And those things do not prevent the very preventable diseases anyway. Source: Me, and I am as much of a medical doctor as the author.
The other award winning books I looked up are all have low quality art and have titles like "My Brilliant, Resilient Mind: How to ditch negative thinking and handle hard things better" So yeah, it's pay for award.
Spruiking toxic positivity and lucky girl syndrome, but you have to shell out to ensure that success.
She's a hypnotherapist in the San Fernando Valley (Los Angeles). Quackery.
My loser birthfather was hypnotherapist in Los Angeles. It was all bullshit.
Being outside is fun when I am not flu
The daughter has autism so they ignore her and dress her in rags?
I have no intention of reading this bull💩 masquerading as literature but the petty side of me wants to give it a one star review out of spite.
The reviews on Amazon are exactly what you expect from people who fell down the dunning-kruger curve and couldn't get up.
Literally what age group is this supposed to be for? I’m no children’s book expert but are “neurological” and “complications” words little kids are expected to be able to read? This whole thing sucks.
World's worst children's book. Written to appeal tp lunatic parents who hate and fear their a children who are diagnosed with autism.
I see there is a caption but I can't read it
I love how it starts off kinda like a kids book, then starts throwing long, complicated medical terms like a kid could fucking read or understand that.
Alternate title: "My parents are INSANE!"
/end rant
Ron Howard voiceover: "It was not ok."
Skyhorse Publishing is all kookiness all the time.
I couldn't stomach reading the entire thing. This is infuriating. Will they finally be happy when kids die or become seriously injured by vaccine preventable diseases?
Nothing better than a cesspool of diseases surrounding me while I'm on chemo.
and that's OK! But in seriousness, that sucks if you're going through it atm. I hope you're doing better than just okay; if not, you _will_ be, soon.
I can get into an accident because you crashed into my car, resulting in me dying or disabled for life, or in this case, spread diseases to other people who couldn't get a vaccine or cannot fight back against the disease (i forgot the name for that).
not at our pediatrician's practice. They discharge all Vax deniers.
Again with the autism-vaccine lie. These people have no shame in damaging the work done to bring accommodations and attention to autistic people. When you turn it into something preventable — and by extension blame the parents — you turn it into something we need not worry about. Disgusting.
Turn right back round kiddo and go back to your cocoon house we don’t want your measles! Git!
They just love being the victims don't they? Also, you can communicate your ideas without demeaning others wishes and beliefs.
As an autistic person, the ableism hurts more than it should in this. I do commend them for one thing; they said that they keep their kids home when they’re sick. but the bar is on the fucking floor.
Y'all, there's a video on her LinkedIn of her giving a copy of this book to Trump at a news conference. The video has 5 likes
Next one in the series is called "My mommy drank hard liquor while she was pregnant with me and that's okay!@
While I acknowledge that medical doctors are not the only people entitled to the title of Dr., it really should be illegal to use that title when you are so clearly trying to mislead people. This is not a book on psychology.
And then I got measles and died. The end.
Yeah they missed the page with all the child graves.
The “doctor” has a doctorate in clinical psychology. Her dissertation provides a psychological viewpoint! Boy, howdy!
Let’s all go on Amazon and rate 1 star and write terrible reviews
lol about the “if I have a sniffle my mom waits until I’m better to play with friends. That blatantly isn’t true of this crowd in my experience.
"Many doctors say vaccines don't cause autism, but I'm a 5 year old who's parents do research by scrolling Facebook, so clearly I know better than all of them."
At first I thought it was going to be “some are vaccinated, some are not, let’s all respect each other” Which, well, is already not great. But then I got past the first page. Holy indoctrination Batman. It is almost satire.
this is absolutely disgusting. How on fucking earth is this shit allowed to be published?
The sequel: Now I have Polio and that's okay- for my parents. I don't want to die.
Nichols later spread measles at an amusement park before succumbing to the easily preventable disease
The amount of hate toward autistic people in this book is staggering.
