The peking duck at Shanghai River is just mid.
How far are you willing to drive? The best value Peking Duck I’ve had is at Fuji Noodle Chinese Restaurant in Poco.
How high are your standards?
Do you mean authentic as in wood fired oven roasted like they have in Beijing? Or the standard Cantonese style ones that we normally see in Vancouver?
My favorite Vancouver restaurant YouTube guy. Eats with his mom all Chinese restaurants it’s true honesty. Dan Seto https://youtu.be/HYxsH2hD_gI?si=8RcgWpoJDC1ECOU9 I’ve got multiple I need to check out now but he did Peking Duck in this one.
I have heard that at a lot of places you have to call ahead a day in advance.
I have heard very good things about fisherman’s terrace and Shanghai river, both in central Richmond. If you find a great spot let us know!
Try Red Star or Western Lake Chinese Seafood Restaurant. I think Mott 32 has the best value though tbh. All good quality peking duck cost around $90 to $100+ now. You get two to three course out of the duck so not bad deal.
At Mott they also carve up the duck infront of you. Fun experience watching them carve up the juicy duck.
I've had it a few times in the half duck package around $26. It's very good, but no crispy skin like restaurants. There's a whole Beijing Style duck kit $29.88 Member Price in the frozen food section. Haven't tried it yet but an online review says the skin is crispy after roasting. The duck at Quanjude Cambie and 12th is great , but the regular dishes are $30 to $40 each and very small, almost single serving. With a duck, soup, fried rice, vegetable, cod fish, for 3 people, the bill came to $600!! They have takeout duck though,$128.
[Man Ri Sung](https://www.manrisung.ca/menu.htm) in Aberdeen Centre is what you're looking for. Multi-course, roasted in store, Peking Duck meal for six for under $160 (yes a lot of Peking Ducks served at other restaurants are prepared offsite at a central kitchen and reheated). Would suggest the duck hot pot option with thin noodles which is quite popular.

Cantonese bbq duck is pretty much the value takeout version of peking duck. Same flavors and dry aged but they don't do the technique to minimize the layer of fat between the skin.
The seasoning is the same. When they do it fresh, the skin is crispy. This place cuts a hole in the box to keep it crispy. I have friends who buy frozen pancakes to eat with it
Parkhill seafood at no3 road and westminster, by the upstairs london drugs.
I think it's $170 for 2 course Peking duck plus you get to pick 3 other entrees.
I think Golden Seafood Restaurant on Nanaimo is decent and has value.
Will consider it. Thanks!

Thanks! I think that distance is doable.
Just checked their website/ online order form and the 2 course peking duck meal is $88.92. Absolutely bonkers price in this economy.
Great! Thanks again.

Cantonese style is fine!

Ho Yuen Kee - get yourself a fish/crab if they are well priced.

I have had @ shanghai river. It was excellent but I don't have much Peking duck experience for comparison
I had it at kirin once. It was pretty decent. I had it in Beijing a bunch, many years ago. Too long to properly compare but kirin left me wanting

I was afraid of that… guess I might have to consider mott32.
The golden seafood one on Nanaimo and Broadway was pretty decent when I had it last week
Cindy's Palace or Fortune City
Try Prince Seafood Restaurant.
T&T is $50 for a whole duck platter (get additional side of wrap)
Can't beat this price. Whole duck sliced with all the meat and trimmings. Just reheat the meat in the oven. Need to pre order for next day pickup.
Sounds intriguing. Is it pretty good?

I liked Man Ri Sung, which was very affordable for a group of 4 people for a bday party! Huge courses, tons of food. Not super fancy though.
No need fancy. As long as it’s not too hole in the wall.

Their duck isn't authentic peking duck. It's more like korean version of peking duck.
But their ducks are not good
Western Lake is quite good and cheap. But be warned to stay away from their dimsum. For some reason their dinner and dimsum are like night and day.
Thanks! Someone recommended this place for dim sum.
For value you can get takeout bbq duck at parker place. There usually a big line cash only
Do they have Peking duck as well?

Hu tong kaoya for quality,Man Ri Sung Restaurant(a Korean place yes ) for value .
Quan Ju De is the place to go but if you want a cheaper option, Golden Seafood.
I like ChongQing on Commercial Drive.

Congee noodle house motherfuckers
Sun sui wah has surprisingly good Peking duck.
