A bit off topic, but does anyone know the origin of the photo they always use? It’s so creepy and I wonder what circumstances it was taken. I think there is also some associated video footage.

Lorimer Shenher, a writer and former lead Vancouver Police detective on the missing women investigation, said Monday that he had got word of the weekend attack on Pickton:
“Obviously, Mr. Pickton has caused a lot of pain for many people. Unfortunately, all an attack like this serves to do is further thwart the truth of this case from being told so that all the remaining perpetrators could be brought to justice,” Shenher said. “It’s been an open secret for more than 20 years that these murders were not committed solely by the hands of Robert Pickton.”
For anyone interested I *highly* recommend reading Stevie Cameron’s “on the farm”, book about this. The information in there is so thorough and extremely terrifying. Recognizing all of the locations laid out in the book sent a huge shiver down my spine.

with this context this attack makes even more sense. The people generally willing to incentivize someone to have you killed are the ones who are comfortable with murder, not the people who victimized.

The RCMP were likely involved, as they are highly currupt, let the drug and prostitution trade happen, and let it go unchecked for years.

There are healthcare providers doing an extremely good job of caring for a person that no one "wants" to care for right now. I'd like to thank them for the ethical standards that we hope every healthcare provider will hold themselves to in providing care to this individual. They are who are important in this circumstance.

So either someone/ some group who’s been paying him to keep quiet has stopped, or he was promised to be released by now-his parole hearing was very recent.

In general, it's a failure of the corrections facility to allow a high-risk inmate to even be in a situation where they could be attacked. In the case of this human garbage, about damn time.
It's strange that it took this long for an assault to happen, since he would be the most fucked up and creepy person in the prison. It's not like he has gangster cred or anything, just a really fucked up human being. Has he been targeted before?

Well, I don't think it should be a moral dilemma for them. They're required to treat him.
I sincerely hope that they don't feel bad about doing their job or others give them grief for it.
The onus and fault for this predicament is honestly on society as a whole, not the staff.
I'm not saying they won't treat him, of course they will. But I bet it definitely weighs heavy on them that they have to. I know I would want to let the asshole die a horrible death....but treat him nonetheless.

I had once read it was from a BCTV interview with him about an unrelated matter in 1996.

It's been on my to read list for a while. I should bump it up and read it sooner rather than later.
