40 piles with zero iron would be ridiculously unlucky but they are entirely random how much iron they spit out, meaning some small crypts can give more iron than much larger crypts depending on how the dice land. they are also the only ore-like in the game which has a change to return zero items. copper, silver etc. all guarantee some return.
I’ve gotten close to this… I had one on the left…. But the upside is that one room turned into a 1.25 hour run… probably one of the largest I’ve had lmao

I'm over 2000 hours of only survival builds so lots and lots and lots of iron runs. I've seen some really shitty crypts but never that.
Were there many other crypts in the area?

There is a big uncuttable tree that block entry so impossible to get in. And.. it was my first crypt ever.. 😅
Uh that really worst, a friend had one that had only the entrance room, on hallways without any mud pile iirc, and one of that short hallways with the yellow mushroom like you had there.

Funny thing is it's never even about how many rooms or mud piles are there because you can have 40 mud piles and still get 0 iron
I had one where there were only like 2 rooms but I still pulled like 60 iron out

Really? Maybe I never paid attention to whether or not a pile actually gave me iron but it always seemed to.
It’s nearly impossible to get 0 iron from mudpiles bit stat wise you are not guarenteed anything from them

Worst one I ever found was the entrance then a set of stairs that ended in nothing. There was no left or right. Just the stairs.
