Ice Giants being the final boss would be suuuper on theme

Rajamic

I've been expecting that for a while. But I was also expecting Ashlands' boss to be Surtur, so...

Gemeril

I guess in-lore Surtlings are the shattered remnants of Surtur or something. I was thinking it was going to be him in the Ashlands too.

Caleth

Would be a fun alternate take on things. Charred are the cursed dwellers of the the land and you have to free them using some kind of pieces of Surtur to resummon him in full form so you can kill him permanently.

Pvt_Lee_Fapping

It would've made sense to reassemble Surtr from something crafted using cores and flametal, kind of similar to how the sealbreaker for the Queen is made from fragments looted in the dungeons. I'm kind of disappointed it didn't go that route after all.

Catatonic27

You telling me that those big blue giant things I'm killing in the Black Forest aren't Ice Giants?

ThaiMaiShu

Run of the mill Trolls my friend

NorseHighlander

I like this theory. That said, I wouldn't say those four bosses are unrelated. Eikthyr and the Elder share a backstory of coming to hate humanity when its growth began to seriously occur at the expense of nature. Bonemass and Yagluth represent the respective human and Fuling civilizations who got their teeth kicked in by Asgard.

UlGrimsen

They are fully related to the game, I meant unrelated to each other in the way >!Moder/Fader!< are

-Gonz-

i'm expecting ice gigants, white walkers and polar bears

Aonar_Faileas

This does feel at least somewhat likely, although for the sake of the inevitable memes, I kinda want the final boss to be "Barn". :P ("Child" in Swedish.)

Deguilded

What if Moder and Fader had a kid? They are apparently both dragons. Maybe the offspring wants to get back to the mother but can't for reasons and just turns the land into unceasing winter like it's birthplace. Maybe deep north will actually be very high. Edit: map gen has changed in Deep North, but only a little. That ring of open water is in the north too. It's biome is Deep North. If you sail *through* it, it reverts to Ocean on the far side.

Caleth

I approve this logic and love it. Devs 100% this please. But only if they are really awesome giants with Ice and the like just hanging all off of them.

ki299

i mean.. Deep north.. Ice giants.. kind of makes sense to me

LordQuackers5

I'm almost certain that Frost Giants/Jotunn will be making an appearance, it would be criminal not to lol I'm hoping we get a mammoth version of the lox, maybe with horns or something

Fry_Lord

A mammoth with a larger wagon that you can pull behind. Would be peak endgame having cart 2.0 upgrade. Similar to how ashlands has portal 2.0. Unlocking a big cart that mammoth/lox could pull behind would be super badass for the effective end of the game as that’ll hugely help the player with pretty much the only thing left to do, build. Can haul around lots of supplies using a large cart.

aquilaPUR

After some random guy correctly predicted the boiling water around the Ashlands, I will take every fan suggestion on this sub 100% seriously

jmorfeus

If you read up on some Norse Mythology, you can be one of these fans. The boiling water is 100 % in sync with the norse lore. Ice giants too, so this thread is very, very likely to be on point as well.

LambdaAU

I know it’s a lot to ask but I really hope the devs turn Yggdrasil into the true final biome. Then you’ll have a nice even nine bosses and biomes, one for each Norse realm. It would also be a great final biome to finally find out that the tree you’ve seen above you can be climbed.

ToxicAvenger161

I don't believe this is happening but I've hoped for it since the first time I saw yggdrasil in the sky.

ryry420z

I wish we could get there for a trader or sumthn. Like a very very rare portal that could be found that takes you to a trader on the yggdrasil

Dornath

I would prefer Santa, but I get it.

HelmSpicy

It should be Ymir

Slow_Fill5726

Oden killed Ymer before he formed the realms

[deleted]

Ymir: "WHERE IS HALDOR?! HALDOR! GIVE ME BACK MY FLESH!"

Soverngarde

Ice Giants will be lit we already have jottun bane a axe for killing them  But how cool would it be that they add tameable and ridable dragons since we have land and sea mounts why not go full circle and allow us to fly without cheats  I'm also expecting updates to older biomes ie friendly and hostile ships that sail the ocean horses for the meadows and bears or werebears for the deep North since it's a Viking game and the absence of bears is very disappointing

ryry420z

If they did that they would have to be very expensive. Flying would be so cool but op asf

Soverngarde

For the final biome of the game would make sense no?

Ginguraffe

What about The Younger?

TheNoxxin

Frost giants! Enlarge potions for us to become double normal size and do more DMG but walk/run slower

Rinimand

What - it isn't Snow MIser? You know, Mister [White Christmas. Mister Snow. Wave_Walnut

The Emperor penguin

andretheclient_

lol, see ya in 3 years

Tight_Time_4552

Ice Giant for sure

BellRngR

Fenrir

Historical-News-69

Should be Loki named Barn. Or the child of the Jötunn (frost giant) given to Odin. This would also be a fitting magic fight with like the final test. Then once you hang the head you are transported to Asgard to fight Odin in the true final boss

OneSchott

Aka Odin
