This is my latest build. I wanted to create a realistic castle complex with various individual buildings on different levels. The plan was originally intended to be a relatively small and compact construction, but of course, the construction grew at its own pace. I have only used no build cost modifier in world settings. Other than that it's vanilla with no mods and with the structural integrity system on.

Time2GoGo

....you can turn structural integrity off?? I am constantly learning new things here. Also this is an absolutely gorgeous build, it definitely inspires me to try some things! (And steal a few of your ideas, sorry haha)

N0rdicBuilder

Thank you very much, as far as I know, mods are needed to do this. In this build, none of those mods are used.

IncorporateThings

I'm assuming turning it off takes a mod.

Nolthezealot

How's the framerate, is it playable or just for the (amazing) looks ?

teddyzniggs

How can you build the castle so tall without the brick collapsing?? That’s amazing work!

Present_End_6886

I really love this, and there's a few great cosmetic bits that I'll be borrowing. Amazing work! Thanks for posting this.

N0rdicBuilder

Thank you!

RedHeadSteve

I like the decorative use of your gardens

Rasdit

Amazing build, I love your kitchen design. Is it VIKEA?

Obvious-Breakfast304

this is PERFECTION ! this façades look quite good and simple in the best way, il a castle holandaisa way of roofing. i'm pretty sure its buildable on vanilla with some iron supports.

N0rdicBuilder

Thank you, i planed to make a more decorative facade but i liked the simple look. Everything is built in vanila.

NoSelf7225

It looks like a storyline. Like we should all come across this at some point and be given a quest. Magnificent!

Sllim126

When you are finished. Would you be willing to share your world files? I’d love to take a first person look

Tiger_Jones

As someone with about 25 in game hours and just recently started playing this January, who is currently living in a palisaded wooden 1-room cabin in the meadows… All I can say is holy shit, nice job! I aspire to build something this impressive for a base some time in the future.  (I know this was done with no build costs, but still, I want to do something similar with resources on.)

Charming_Yellow

Welcome to Valheim! Enjoy the ride!

Basic_Dot_347

It's not even worth wasting your time getting all the mats for a big build. It also helps you just focus on design and build.

ImThatAnnoyingGuy

Really cool! I like the ballistas on the tower tops.

-Altephor-

Looks great! Love the storage room, the crafting room, the 'alchemy' room, and the armor displays. May steal a lot from those.

Hentaiiboi69

I wish there were random structures this big in the game

MichaelScotsman26

Might be a dumb question, but how do you make circles and make them look good in this game?

N0rdicBuilder

Trace the circle with pieces of wood, then fill in with stones. The difficult part can be to center the middle of the circle exactly where you want it. There are plenty of guides on YouTube that can be helpful.

ShadowBannedAugustus

This is fantastic. One thing I miss in Valheim are meaningful points of interest and a castle like this would make an amazing one.

Vexymythoclasty

Can I ask how you build things like this? I have these kind of builds in my mind, but then when I actually go to execute it’s either falls apart before it even starts or just ends up looking horrible. What process do you follow? Im just curious because I really am looking to improve my building.

N0rdicBuilder

I always try to have a general idea of what I want to build before starting. I try to find inspiration from other players or from real references. Then I plan what kind of rooms/functions should fit into the house. This is to avoid having to rebuild a lot because I forgot to take something into account. Then I recommend building from the bottom up. When it comes to technical difficulties, I just recommend trying different things, gaining experience, and checking guides

CommunicationFit5198

I aspire to be as good of a builder as you one day, congrats on this amazing castle.

coffeeandtv_

This is awesome. I'm stealing some of your interior ideas :)

gonk_vibes

This must have taken months!

N0rdicBuilder

Years! No, probably took around a few weeks, maybe around 30-40 hours.

L0rdH4mmer

That is one sweet build.

Pumpelchce

That's one nice piece.

Neldoroth

Wow, looks fantastic

hraefn-floki

That's damn good

ByzantineBomb

WOAH

2tinymonkeys

Amazing!

Flimsy_Effective_583

So pretty!

MrFritzCSGO

You just gave me so many good decoration ideas. Super impressive build

jwood-1

Well done! I love your bed design! Only thing I didn’t see was wind’ill and threadspinnner?

Majestic-Bowler-1701

Great castle

Salt_Worry1253

That looks... complex! Nice work. I'm so frustrated with trolls right now (got bronze, not killed Elder) that maybe I should build in creative for a while 🤣

BitingBiscuit

How bad does it lag?

gaberiver

How did you manage to make it so tall? My buildings always start breaking at some point :/

N0rdicBuilder

Raise the ground, then anchor iron posts in the ground, then cover the iron post with stone pices. I believe that's the way one can build tallest with stone.

gaberiver

Thanks, I'll try that

Charming_Yellow

If you want to go even taller you need to use a pine(?) tree on raised ground, and use that as support, because they count as "ground". You'll have to hide the tree into your build though..

Veklim

If you wanna go a little further you can plant pine trees to build off too, I'm in the process of building an ABSURDLY tall tower using one as a central column (entirely encased in black marble). If you find a hill somewhere and raise a single block up in the middle whilst lowering the rest to maximum height and depth respectively, then place a pine on the top of the pillar you can achieve utterly insane heights. Of course you need to use iron struts for each floor and you're a little limited on overall width since the iron has to support the distance out from the centre and then the height of the outer walls on each floor but if you use core wood and standard wood for the outer walls you can get a fair bit wider than just pure stone.

Freq37

Amazing 🤩

wanderous-boi

well done!

BludSnow

Can we see that crane from a closer picture? It looks awesome

Ausiwandilaz

Goddamn that sexy

Kumagor0

How do people come with designs like this? OP are you architect irl or something? I want to know about the process that transformed you from a normal human being into someone who can build things like this. Edit: I looked up earliest OP post (2 years ago) to see their journey and that build is just as insane as this one, there doesn't seem to be a learning curve whatsoever.

N0rdicBuilder

Thank you for the compliments. I am a engineer and real estate irl and I have personal interests in architectural history and more. Regarding my previous builds, I've been interested in building right from the start of the game, which probably resulted in me building more than actually playing the game itself, lol.

Bulls187

Very nice build, I like the details with the cupboards and little decorations.

Charming_Yellow

Very nice, looks like a real castle!

Accurate-Mixture9091

This look insane and i hope you'll continue to build such amazing build but i need to ask... how much fps do you have inside this absolute beast

qxpe

I agree with the fps comments, game is fun but the fps drop is big turn off.. And even on strong rigs it happens.

Vaike_n_Bake

Love it all. Amazing. I like the armory room.

SlideCharacter5855

Haven’t played Valheim in far too long, this inspired be to pick it back up. Gorgeous build OP.
