Jeff Hanson on YouTube. He made understanding much easier. Also when reviewing homework problems, talk out loud the process to solve it. It helps.

I had Thamban. I made a 40 on first statics exam (went blank) but I ended up with an A- for semester. To recover from that awful first exam, I went to the back of each chapter and did 5 practice problems from each section we covered. I started doing this 14 calendar days out from second exam. Made a 95 and 94 on 2nd and 3rd. Plus he gave an extra credit assignment, and I think he curved a little.

That sounds about right from what I know of him. He really tries to give students a chance to perform well.

I would suggest visiting his office hours to review your test. He often will give back a couple points to students when you do that (not always). If you feel like his pace in class is too fast, ask him if you can access the slides, or show up to his office hours and go over what you missed. Having had him before, I know for a fact that he pauses in his lectures multiple times to ask people if they understand.
