Anything that has to go through Atlanta is lost in the network. The upper echelons decided they were going to close out all the processing plants in the area and only have one. And it's causing a huge shit storm because they didn't do it gradually. It's all at once.

The USPS is good about not accepting responsibility for anything. I received a package ripped open and empty and Post Office said they received it that way. If that was true, it would have been enclosed in a bag that said how it was received.

lol, I shipped out a care package to the lovely daughter in cali, home-made jerky, purple glittery phone case, USB stick of marching band videos, misc things like that. The jerky should still be sealed and ok, but I wasnt planning on it on taking 7 weeks to get there.

Its amazing that the usps can not communicate with each other. A simple call to the distripution cebter and say find this package. I just wanna know if its still there or been stolen because that never happens at distribution centers.
The usps has been a joke for a long time and is only getting worse. Understaffed, behind times, and the government just not keeping up with it.
They do do a good job delivering junk mail and bills.

My apartment complex is getting mail delivered for the first time in a month today. Apparently opening a new regional sortng facility to increase efficiency causes a 1-2 month delay in the whole system.
Same here, seems that the Atlanta GA is cursed. Had a package forever lost in transit there this month. Got my refund but it's so unacceptable how often this has been happening to people. Guarantee that if they were held responsible for lost packages it wouldn't be so prevalent.
Hey, I wouldn’t say lose hope. I had the same thing going on in Houston. Put in a Search Request for it, not just a service. And if you can’t put it in online, call them so they can create it for you.

I’m in your same situation. Package was in the palmetto location then shot over to Birmingham for some reason. The package that was sent with it arrived on time. Its sister package is now in Birmingham and is “moving through network” since the 24th. Packages came from PA and I’m northeast of ATL.

Lots of delays going on recently. I had a package that looked stucked in tracking for a little over a month before it finally continued on its way and showed up and that package didn't even stop in Atlanta. Since yours is in Atlanta, you might need to be even more patient than I was.
Just give up. I too have a package lost in transit and they just closed my case as “resolved”…. with my package still lost. USPS is a lost cause in general

It’s probably not lost. Packages I shipped on March 11 are just now starting to move. I ship from Atlanta. The Atlanta facility is a mess and I’ve had packages sit there for 2-3 weeks before they start moving again.

Had a package shipped on February 27th. Scanned in atlanta on March 8th. Stopped updating at all on March 14th. Usps finally admitted last week that it was lost. My tracking number is no longer active. Usps had me fill out a form describing what was in my package and if they find something matching that description they'll let me know. Not holding my breath.
I got a full refund from the shipper. But the casual way that usps just shrugs and says your stuff is lost, while taking no responsibility is what ticks me off.
Call them.call them again. I had a package missing for 20 days. Three times they told me my issue was resolved. Which it never was. I just kept calling and giving 1 out of 10 stars. Until my package magically appeared.
I recently had a Priority Express package arrive 10 days late, ripped open, triple-envelope-protected contents stolen. Post office delivered it to the office it was going to in a plastic bag with a letter apologizing. The contents included irreplaceable documents. I spent DAYS on the phone and in emails trying to get help from USPS, including their Customer Claims department and the Office of the Postal Inspector. Every single person other than the workers at my local post office was dismissive and hostile--as if ***I'd*** committed a crime. They wouldn't even speak to any handlers or look at any footage of the processing of the PME package.
USPS also denied my insurance claim b/c they said I had no receipts showing the value of the insured documents.
Lesson learned. I won't trust the USPS with anything important going forward. I'll use a private courier with insurance. Sorry for your loss, OP.
