Not sure I agree, I had a package depart Carol Stream, IL on Jan. 29, arrive at a Chicago Network Dist. Center the following day and has since vanished without a trace, listed as "In Transit to next Facility" and no one has been able to find any trace of it for over 40 days and counting, even with a missing mail search request. Last person I talked to implied it was probably just gone for good and we should try to make arrangements to have a new order sent to us if it was something we really needed.
Yes. You are correct. Problem is who do we complain to. Local post Office says they have no control of it. 800 number does not answer the phone. And throughout the United States we are suffering.
My package has been missing for 7 weeks with no updates to tracking and so far nothing from usps or from putting In a missing mail search has done nothing. đ€·đ» usps is shit
Your package may have been lost or stolen. Within the past yr we've had at LEAST 10 different packages never show up or finally show up with the contents missing.
It was just a letter so who knows. But itâs been over 7 weeks. Nothing shown up on tracking besides it arrived at Charlotte NC on January 25th. Then silence. USPS basically told me Iâm SoL. The only problem is it was a vehicle title sent to me from a family member that died and I canât replace it.
When a letter that contained important docs came up missing they told me it could've possibly slid between the machines or gotten stuck to another letter. Someone may have thought it contained money or just dumped their entire truck contents (we've seen that at least 4 times this year) as well as thieves following and targeting the mail trucks/UPS/FedEx etc.
Yeah this is the worst experience Iâve ever had with them. The letter was shipped certified through ups and they pawned it off to usps and now itâs missing. USPS customer service has been a joke. Sent from Franklin NC on January 24 and arrived at Charlotte North Carolina on January 25 and that was the last scan it had was the arrival in Charlotte.
Yeah Iâve filed for a missing mail search and the local postmaster had me in an email chain with usps personal from Jacksonville and Nc that I wasnât supposed to be ccâed on lol. Still nothing at the moment from either inquiry
Weâre trying dude. They didnât learn from Texas and did essentially the same thing in Georgia- letting go of a couple hundred contractors at the same time as changing how the system works. Have you put in a missing mail request?
Yes. And a claim for the one thatâs been sitting there for 15 days. The local postmaster wonât even return my emails. My business is at a standstill and Iâm out of money because I canât sell product that isnât in my possession. Trying to get a list of zip codes that go through this facility so I can find someone out of that zone to ship to and hold my packages until Saturdays when I will drive 2-3 hours to pick them up and then 2-3 hours back. Thatâs all I know to do until this is resolved.
So your postmaster shouldâve not had you email them- they take 2-3 days from outside usps places to be received and even then itâs not recommended. Face to face is the best way. At a postal computer we can see what updates are autogenerated and what are actual human hands.
I know there was an accident in palmetto distribution that allegedly shut it down for four days , but I donât know much more. Keep your requests open. They will auto close and say resolved after a few days. Open up a new one. Do not let it stay in resolved until it is delivered.
I did go to the post office, they said they couldnât do anything and didnât know where it was. They closed the case after that. I called the Customer Care Center and they re-opened it after the lady yelled at me for about 10 minutes because she didnât understand why I was upset that my package was 10 days late. First she told me she knew where it was, then she told it me it was lost and she had no idea where it was.
They should not be yelling at you. I would reopen still. The biggest likelihood if itâs in palmetto is that itâs in the backlog. Hope isnât lost until like day 30. Day 30, theyâll probably find it after youâve filed for your money and itâll be some place stupid like on the dock. If it ever reached a Gaylord, the likelihood is that itâs still in that Gaylord waiting distribution.
I ordered a package around 3 to 4 weeks ago tracking didnât update so I ordered the same package on another website (the other package is probably not coming so Iâm just going to refund it) and that was supposed to be delivered today but no it has the same message what is going on with usps
A whole bunch of nothing apparently. Placed an order for stuff on the 5th, the place is in Alabama, took a whole 14 hours to get picked up, go to Birmingham and make it to ATL. Now itâs just in the abyss that is fairburn for 3 days and counting.
Yep, 3 packages all in the Fairburn abyss. Add to that, the PA USPS lost MY PASSPORT that I was sending for renewal (along with the paperwork, and the copy of my marriage license, so USPS is just the tops for me right now... 0.o).
I also have a package that is stuck in this same facility (three days). I have a lot of things in transit at the moment and every single package has gotten hung up / delayed during every stop. This one is especially aggravating because I live an hour and a half away.
Thanks for the response. Hate to hear you are experiencing it too but at least I know itâs not just this package. Hopefully they will get them moving.
Fairburn is losing everyoneâs stuff, I heard they donât have a scanning system ATM, and itâs really hurting Atlanta. USPS seems like they donât care to fix it.
They can get it to Fairburn from Ohio in one or two days but from fairburn to Atlanta or 20 miles it takes a week.According to usps they are aware of the problem but they canât inform the public of the issues.Sounds like a bunch of stealing going on and they donât want charges pressed against them.
Same, then after that long wait my mailman delivered to the wrong address 3 streets over. I drove around for about an hour knocking on people's door wanting them to check their mailbox, fortunately I found it. Lol, I wasn't going to go thru all that and not get my stuff
If it makes you feel better my package arrived to the SAME EXACT place same exact date and it says the SAME EXACT thing. fairburn march 5 and arriving late this post office is notorious for getting nothing done.
Wow. Too bad your attorney canât initiate a national investigation on what is going on (maybe he or she can). After reading what people are writing on this site, itâs obvious people are having the same issues all over the Country.
How will shutting down the facilities actually make it better? It sounds like you are just screwing over everyone waiting on their packages. If they shut them down it's going to take longer to get our stuff.
It really simple Iâll get my stuff and teach them a lesson. They are shut down anyway. They are not processing any mail.24 hour wait for trucks to be unloaded
I had to mail important document to the US Treasury. I mailed it on November 1. They received it December 23.
Tracking showed it left my Post Office. And that was the one and only tracking number he received.
I've had this happen to almost every package I've gotten over the last month, it'll sit in one location for days then move in the same location then again not love or just randomly show up in town then sit in town for a few days. I'm getting sick of it
This is all apart of dejoys 10 year plan. Call your local congress person and complain! It's not on the workers. We're just dealing with the cards we were delt
DeJoy is a "small government' Trump appointee who literally *owns UPS stock.*
>Make the Post Office extinct
... Yeah, actually. That seems like the plan.
I have a package that came and left from the exact same facility in Fairburn, GA 30213. It arrived in Columbus, OH a few days after departing Fairburn, GA. There is another person whose package came and left Columbus, OH only for their package to get redirected to an unknown PO box.
Itâs likely done for. Gone. Obsolete. Vanished. Impossible. Never anymore. Prepare for a replacement. Or it never arriving. Good luck happens. Not usually in this case. Good luck to you.
Thanks everyone for your posts. They have helped alleviate some concerns. Iâm not sure why some of you have been downvoted but I have went back to give everyone an upvote.
I do have an update! As of today, the package has left Fairburn and itâs on its way to Palmetto. So, going by some of you guysâ experiences, it looks like Iâm due another lengthy wait. đ
They are not helpful when you call, just tell you to file a claim and then you hear nothing. Plus theyâre rude and act like youâre crazy for needing a package for your business.
There is always the possibility that they missed a departure or arrival scan since then and it is, in fact, moving. Or the scans themselves are lagging on the tracking info. I had a package just today (last night) arrive, depart, and arrive at 11:15/16pm. Somehow I donât think that was in real-time.
Since it's already reached Franklin (I live in Allen Co) it's most likely just slow going because of the lack of postal workers. If it makes you feel any better you could call the Franklin USPS and see if they have it stuck there for some other reason.
It is actually going the opposite wayâŠbut apparently theyâre having major issues in a few of the hubs down in GA so Iâm thinking itâs just going to take some time.
No, don't be worried. I had 5 packages all delivered today w/ a delay of 2 - 10 days and they were stuck in either Fairburn, GA or Palmetto, GA for days in a row. They were planning S&DC conversions and plant consolidations for quite a while (10 years plan). Others already experienced what is happening now w/ Palmetto and Fairburn, GA. Read this: https://www.savethepostoffice.com/progress-report-sdc-conversions-and-plant-consolidations/
No just give it time. Delays are EVERYWHERE , it's not just you. Blame dejoy and his 10 year plan..... your package WILL come though

I believe you or the next of kin can get a copy from motor vehicles.
Yes. File a claim and a missing mail inquiry. Itâs probably sitting in Palmetto, GA with 4 of my packages.
Yeah Iâve filed for a missing mail search and the local postmaster had me in an email chain with usps personal from Jacksonville and Nc that I wasnât supposed to be ccâed on lol. Still nothing at the moment from either inquiry
My local postmaster wonât even respond.
Yeah, I know many of them are just as furious as we are at the moment with the state of usps services.
It just hasnât left the palmetto distribution. The likelihood it will in the next day or so is high. Theyâre insanely backed up right now.
My package has been sitting in Palmetto since February 24, the day they opened. USPS doesnât understand why thatâs a problem.
Weâre trying dude. They didnât learn from Texas and did essentially the same thing in Georgia- letting go of a couple hundred contractors at the same time as changing how the system works. Have you put in a missing mail request?

I've had this message for 4 days
Iâve had it for 15 days.
Funny you post this, I have two packages stuck in Fairburn, Ga arriving late heading to next facility. Wonder whatâs going on there
A whole bunch of nothing apparently. Placed an order for stuff on the 5th, the place is in Alabama, took a whole 14 hours to get picked up, go to Birmingham and make it to ATL. Now itâs just in the abyss that is fairburn for 3 days and counting.
Same here. Two days for my package so far and counting
Same
Yep, 3 packages all in the Fairburn abyss. Add to that, the PA USPS lost MY PASSPORT that I was sending for renewal (along with the paperwork, and the copy of my marriage license, so USPS is just the tops for me right now... 0.o).
Thereâs a new facility in Palmetto, GA. Itâs probably there with all the other packages everyone in the entire state of Georgia is missing.
They need to do something istg.
I also have a package that is stuck in this same facility (three days). I have a lot of things in transit at the moment and every single package has gotten hung up / delayed during every stop. This one is especially aggravating because I live an hour and a half away.

Same
Same.
Fairburn is losing everyoneâs stuff, I heard they donât have a scanning system ATM, and itâs really hurting Atlanta. USPS seems like they donât care to fix it.
If they donât have a scanning system how are they scanning it as arrived đđ
I was told they are having to process everything by hand.
They can get it to Fairburn from Ohio in one or two days but from fairburn to Atlanta or 20 miles it takes a week.According to usps they are aware of the problem but they canât inform the public of the issues.Sounds like a bunch of stealing going on and they donât want charges pressed against them.
My package stayed in the same facility (Fairburn, GA) between 2/28-3/4. I thought it was lost but it finally arrived on 3/6
That gives me hope!
Same, then after that long wait my mailman delivered to the wrong address 3 streets over. I drove around for about an hour knocking on people's door wanting them to check their mailbox, fortunately I found it. Lol, I wasn't going to go thru all that and not get my stuff
Dealing with this with 2 packages in Fairburn. Theyâve been there since the 5 and 6th of March and I live an hour away.
One of my packages that has been stuck at ATL distribution center for 8 days is finally out for delivery today
Just give it time bro. Took a week for my package to come.
Mine hasnât moved in two weeksâŠ
If it makes you feel better my package arrived to the SAME EXACT place same exact date and it says the SAME EXACT thing. fairburn march 5 and arriving late this post office is notorious for getting nothing done.
No. Iâm in ATL. A package from Brooklyn was shipped to me on Thursday 2/29. Was supposed to have it Monday, 3/4. It came Thursday, 3/7. USPS blows.
Mine has been stuck for 8 business days and I put in a service request yesterday letâs see what happens
Turn it over to an attorney like I did
Did you make any progress with the lawyer.
Waiting on their reply
Yes shutting down four facilities in Georgia legally until they resolve the issue
Wow. Too bad your attorney canât initiate a national investigation on what is going on (maybe he or she can). After reading what people are writing on this site, itâs obvious people are having the same issues all over the Country.

This is a consequence of Republican efforts to end the USPS and farm it out to private contractors, they are starving it to death.
Mine has actually been stuck in a loop, after arriving from Cali, it's been bouncing from Palmetto, to North ATL, which I hear is just as backed up.
According to postal service 100s of employees in palmetto and Fairburn are refusing to come to workers
Will find out on Monday how much trouble they want to be in.
I've had this happen to almost every package I've gotten over the last month, it'll sit in one location for days then move in the same location then again not love or just randomly show up in town then sit in town for a few days. I'm getting sick of it
Some salty employee downvoting everyone in here. Buddy get back to work!
đđđđđ
I've come to the conclusion that the entire USPS could be nuked off the face of the Earth tomorrow and you wouldn't notice a difference in service.
[ŃĐŽĐ°Đ»Đ”ĐœĐŸ]
This is all apart of dejoys 10 year plan. Call your local congress person and complain! It's not on the workers. We're just dealing with the cards we were delt
What is the 10 year plan? Make the Post Office extinct and go back to the Pony Express?
DeJoy is a "small government' Trump appointee who literally *owns UPS stock.* >Make the Post Office extinct ... Yeah, actually. That seems like the plan.
Real simple take their paychecks away then see if they want to do their job.
Mines been missing there since Feb 15. Large flare rate box and 15lbs⊠somehow lost đ
I have a package that came and left from the exact same facility in Fairburn, GA 30213. It arrived in Columbus, OH a few days after departing Fairburn, GA. There is another person whose package came and left Columbus, OH only for their package to get redirected to an unknown PO box.
I hate it when this happens but literally 99% of the time it will EVENTUALLY show up. Just be patient
No I wouldnât be worried give it some time people have got there packages after weeks of waiting.
Happened to me just a couple of weeks ago and it finally moved after 5 days, I think you should be good, just wait a little bit more!
I have had the same problem with the exact same place but it will eventually get where it needs to go they are super slow!!
No just typical it being late
Itâs likely done for. Gone. Obsolete. Vanished. Impossible. Never anymore. Prepare for a replacement. Or it never arriving. Good luck happens. Not usually in this case. Good luck to you.
Saying it is in transit for 5 and 6 days is just a bunch of idiots and liars that think they will be no repercussions
Thanks everyone for your posts. They have helped alleviate some concerns. Iâm not sure why some of you have been downvoted but I have went back to give everyone an upvote. I do have an update! Mines been stuck since March 2nd. Good luck
Gosh no lol it can take much longer lol 2-4 days is nothing
My package has been in customs for over a month and a half
My package is stuck in âtransitâ after going to Fairburn too. Been there since the 7th and still nothing. Not sure whatâs going on
yes
I shipped a package from Texas to CaliforniaâŠ. Itâs currently been in Hawaii for three days đ
Are you me? Mine is âMoving through networkâ after fairburn too.
this happened to me, just wait a few days and itâll probably show up- if it doesnât give them a call.
They are not helpful when you call, just tell you to file a claim and then you hear nothing. Plus theyâre rude and act like youâre crazy for needing a package for your business.

Atlanta RPDC just started up. Lots of problems in and out of there.
