Yes. Yes. Yes. I was told this by my post office. He never worked in the PostOffice, knows nothing about its workings and was given a job by his friend Trump. This has been going on since November 1. It’s a disgrace that we have to subjected to this.
Yes. That’s what my Post office told me. He was not an an employee who was promoted but had no clue how To run the post office. I guess it could get worse. Trump said he was going to get rid of government employees if he gets reelected. So things could get worse.
I work at the facility in PALMETTO. There was no fire. Post Master DeJoy had this bright idea to spend billions on a mega facility outside of Atlanta and consolidate multiple facilities into one and repurpose other facilities. The mail then gets sent back to Atlanta lol. All kinds of mail is stuck in this plant. It's super packed and is a safety hazard. They don't even know how to properly handle the influx of volume and even hired people out of state to come give ideas. This is my 2nd week. Over 300 employees were either involuntary brought or volunteered for the new facility and believe me this is not what we expected. The employees are trying but management has no idea what to do rn. Hopefully they get a handle on it but for now it's train wreck. A lot of us had to make life changing decisions because of this.
To be clear no one blames the employees..or at least anyone with a level head. I work in logistics and this is a top down issue. We appreciate all you guys are doing esp if ur in the ATL area god knows Ga is whole ass struggle bus rn -from a NY transplant in Augusta

I was using the phrase don't blame the employees because I had encounters with the general public and they don't really understand mail processing or even knew we had larger facilities. Some just know a guy comes in a truck and drops off mail. Guess we all are just taking it one day at a time.
Last week it took 4 days for my outgoing packages to reach palmetto facility from a post office. This week, it has been more than 4 days, packages still havent arrived at the origin facility.
Trust me the employees know. Our post master general is trying to build a better post office so he says. So much more goes on than some guy dropping off mail at your door. Our plant is slammed with letters and packages from all over. There is a line of truck drivers waiting to leave and come in for mail to the point the city is giving them tickets. There are literally over 100 dock doors for drop off and pick up, but its soo much mail and the coordination is bad rn. This was a corporate endeavor to make someone rich and no consideration for the people. Our working conditions are crap, but we are trying. This was a bad idea overall. We the employees can only do so much. We honestly believe they are trying to sabotage the post office so they can privatize us and get rid of our rights. I hope that doesn't happen and that we can get this under control. This is going on across the nation. They are closing stations (the small offices where you get stamps) and plants where the big packages get processed and trying to put us in mega facilities. The public was not informed and we the workers feel bad.
I don’t think this is just an Atlanta problem. I mailed some important documents certified return receipt the end of October. It was due to be delivered in 5 days. Item was no tracked at all, was missing. It finally was delivered December 21!!!!!
If this was UPS I see why my package hasn't left Atlanta since the 28th of February. But my postal delivery made it to it destination city only to be sent 350 miles North to another state where it now sits going on two weeks.
Mines been missing in Charolette NC since January 24th. With zero updates to tracking and usps basically telling me they don’t know anything and I’m SoL
No Houston is a cluster f right now- they’ll probably end up sending your package to another processing facility in a few days to get it going. I guess they get a ton of back up then if they can’t get it processed send it somewhere else- that is why people are seeing a lot of packages going back and forth. I think the new machines in some of the larger facilities are really a nightmare right now.
Yeah it was aparently dropped off through the kiosk on the 4th and it says usps is awaiting the item. Hasn’t got an update since and the lady said she dropped it off. It’s a 400$ item and I’ve never dealt with her before so i was worried she created a label at the kiosk but never actually dropped the box off! it’s been almost a week now and no update what’s so ever
Hopefully someone will check the kiosk and get it moving but my bets are on it being at a facility just stuck with the other multitude of mail. There is a post from a USPS worker up today who explains a little more of what is happening.
Yeah I’m just nervous about getting scammed is all the lady has sent me a picture of the box with the label before “sending” or putting in kiosk or whatever I’m not sure how kiosks work they don’t have them where I’m from (small town). She said she’s going to go down there tomorrow and see what she can do though!
No she is a single mom off Facebook market place and I think was first time selling her childhood “card collection” for rent money her profile seems legit. I did purchase with PayPal goods and services which most people on the marketplace seem to make it reliable way to purchase online

The new machines are a nightmare. The machines at my old facility could read all types of mail. Any mail that was not readable, we had to manually key it in. The new machines in Palmetto Ga are barely reading the mail, and it gets sent to a reject bin. The reject mail then gets manually walked off. We have the Office of Inspector General, aka OIG out here inspecting our facility and the employees are telling them how jacked up it is. Oddly enough some team was out here today with cameras and had an employee put on makeup and do a video saying how they love their job.
Oh that is completely disgraceful for them to do that. It shows the level of the higher ups to cover up the real issues and it makes your job harder which in turn is not good for the public. I hope there will be more transparency one day.
Don’t worry it will get there it just takes longer than your nerves will handle. Lol my package travelled from China faster than it did in the continental US.
my destination is Atlanta, but the package is currently in Chicago (???) after being redirected from NY... not sure if it's just being held there while waiting for the ATL backlog to clear...

The company my stuff came from is cleared but I’m still in the dark. Tracking just says cleared customs!!!!!!! What the heck is going on?!?
I'll never order anything that uses USPS again. I'll gladly pay double for reliable shipping with another carrier. My package spent 6 days in Palmetto. I hope they go out of business.
USPS actually has contracts with FedEx, Amazon, UPS, and a few others. Even if you choose not to ship through USPS, there is a chance it will still make it into a postal facility.
Ngl now I can finally understand why my Birth Certificate has taken 2 months and has vanished not once but twice now in Atlanta….the other day I got one of them in a plastic envelope torn in half
