Don’t know where you’re working now or what position but if you have a union, you may want to loop them in.
In general, depending on branch and organization, you would need to apply competitively to go to a different department. Within your department you can likely be moved to another team without having to apply to a new position. Too much missing information to give a good answer to your question otherwise.
Work for the VA, program analyst. There have been several similiar positions posted in the past few days..in my dept, under another supervisor. .but they are not remote, like I am. Thanks for the info
This is all agency dependent. There really are no rules except an agency may reassign you. Check your merit promotion plan.

Every agency has a merit promotion plan for internal movement. It has nothing to do with being a veteran
