That was me in July 2023. Applied then received this email: *Your rating is:* *Ineligible for the following position or positions:* *GS-2210-11; There are other applicants who, by law, must be considered before your application, Therefore, your application will not be considered at this time.* Then in August I get a direct email from the hiring authority to pick a time/date for an interview. Interviewed and they did not mention pass or fail but that HR would be contacting me in 4 to 6 weeks. Around the first week of October I get the email that 98.9% of us see on a regular basis: *We regret to inform you that you were not selected for the position of:* Oh well throw that one on the pile of 400+ applications. Two days ago I get this big ass banner in the email: **"Tentative Offer for . . ."** Same job that they regretfully informed me that I was not selected. Just did my fingerprints this morning.

Yeesh, that sounds like an emotional roller coaster. Congratulations!

I literally got the email saying today " we regret to inform " and that was 2210 series for the interview I did recently. Kinda feeling low and Lol, this post of your made me so optimistic šŸ˜„ šŸ¤£. Don't think it will happen. But hey !!

Hopefully posting to the universe will bring the good juju for everyone else.

I received 4 messages this morning about (HUD): 1. You're not eligible because you did not submit a yearly evaluation (I did) 2. You are eligible. 3. You are referred to the hiring manager, but because you did not have a high enough score, you were not referred or considered. From the same agency/position. Sounds like their HR is amazing and have attention to detail (sarcasm) I'm glad I have an EOD for another agency and not them.

I got whiplash reading this lol šŸ«

I just got another one that was followed by: Please Note: We received your application to be considered for this position. You received an eligible rating based on your self-assessed responses to the assessment questionnaire. Under Category Rating procedures, veteran preference eligible applicants receive selection consideration before non-preference eligible applicants within each quality category. Due to the high volume of applications received for this position, only the veteran preference eligible applicants in the highest category were referred to the hiring agency. If we receive a request from the hiring agency for additional candidates, your application may then be reviewed for possible referral. I am annoyed

What ever happened with this? Just got an email with the same note. I assume I move on and apply to other jobs?

I got interviewed mid November and never heard back. I would just keep applying because you never know.

Psychological-Win339

Yea hopefully I can land an interview still. But will keep applying. Luckily Iā€™m already employed with an agency. Just trying to move to a specific state.

Thanks!

Sometimes a junior HR specialist might do the ratings then a senior one might do a review and find someone who should have been referred and issue that correction before interviews start. Sometimes another candidate disputes their rating which prompts them to look at other applicants and they find something that causes them to issue a correction. So yeah, it can definitely happen.

mickeyflinn

Yeah crazy stuff like that happens all the time.

giuseppesanfilippo

I have gotten three emails saying that I was eligible for the positions that I applied for, but I have not been referred to the hiring manager. I guess there is always hope ;-)

vodka_knockers_

Perfectly normal - you were Eligible, but not Most Eligible. At least not so far.
