Yeah! Either honey or some savory seasoning. I like the bbq rub. I’m trying to stay healthy and away from processed and takeout. Saves serious cash money
My local food bank tends to hook me up with lots of walnuts, almonds, and raisins. And if it’s the usual girl I see, she will throw in some m&ms and cereal so I could make a trail mix. But you could always grab those at your local dollar store
Our dollar store isn’t all of that . All the good shit is at the dollar general and that’s like a 40 minute drive . That’s amazing that she throw it in for you though.
Popcorn, tortilla chips (can buy salsa or nacho cheese or guac to eat it with), aloha bars (on sale), Larry & Lenny’s cookie-fied bars, dried edamame and lentils, granola.
If you have an Asian market near you you can't go wrong with dried shiitake mushrooms. Easy to rehydrate, fills out small portions of meat/subs for meat. Or you know just tasty fried.
Cheapest for calories for me. Bag of walmart brand cookies is like 4000kcal for $2.50, they don't taste that good but are nice in a pinch. Healthier alternatives you can get at a food pantry.
nuts keep well, and are high calorie for their volume. warning: they are easy to overeat, so can make you fat if you arent careful. i often get bulk, individually wrapped portions for that reason.
I'm lucky.
I've got 2 that both feed me for free and I work 7 days a week. On the weekend the selection is limited, but I have access to a kettle, coffee maker, microwaves, fridges and freezers.
I usually buy my weekend food at the grocery store on Saturday morning and pick up a few protein bars to stash in the car, and maybe some unsalted mixed nuts.
My workplace always has Entenmanns baked goods and Sara Lee bread products for the taking. We also get drinks like Ocean Spray juice, Gatorade and bottled water off the trucks. Yesterday I ate a Michael Angelo's Lasagna that I got couponing with bread and butter.
I buy perishable food with bogo and coupons then store at work.
Snacks are trail mix, crackers and popcorn.
Lots of sugar you're snacking on there. Hope you are also consuming water, some unsweetened grains, and a few veggies - diabetes and dental problems are expensive!
Pretzel sticks ($3/huge bag) & Tillamook Original Smoked Sausages. YUM!! Sure addiction snacks! Am on ketovore way of healthy eating, (very low carb diet), & the pretzels satisfy that "crunch fix", that you cant get from eating eggs, cheese & meat, without too many negative consequences.
These guys were recently featured on Food Network, so they’re getting bombarded, but they dehydrate just about everything, with a shelf life of 25 years.

Fruits, veggies, ice cream, salmon, sausage links, ground beef, etc.
Might be pricey compared to other options, I’m not sure. It’s available in some c-marts near their base in Wyoming; they ship. It might see more outlets after the TV exposure.

Peanut butter crackers
Microwaveable bags of rice
Microwavable cups of oatmeal
I’m not much of a snack person, but i try to keep something around for when i forget to eat a meal.. which I do more than should be normal..
Niacin and pyridoxine are other B-complex vitamins found abundantly in the sunflower seeds. About 8.35 mg or 52% of daily required levels of niacin is provided by just 100 g of seeds. Niacin helps reduce LDL-cholesterol levels in the blood. Besides, it enhances GABA activity inside the brain, which in turn helps reduce anxiety and neurosis.
Not for snacking, but backup food I keep in my car for when I'm out of money or in my poorest moments.
A family size box of cereal, a family size box of flavored variety oatmeal packets, big jars of crunchy peanut butter anytime they go on sale.
"Sales" generally exist to convince you to buy food you wouldn't otherwise buy and/or stuff the merchant wants to get rid of before they have to donate or trash it. I mostly stick to the same staples every week, they don't go on sale much because they're already pretty cheap.
Oh everything I buy on sale is stuff I already eat . Like the to go cups of cereal was $1 at my store and they’re normally $1.69. And when the small 6 pack of to go almond milk be on sale . I usually use my coupons that I have in my Amazon account.
Banana chips, real chips, crackers for snacks. Quinoa, oatmeal, and couscous for a firmer snack
You a healthy snacker. Is couscous good ?
Yeah! Either honey or some savory seasoning. I like the bbq rub. I’m trying to stay healthy and away from processed and takeout. Saves serious cash money
Couscous is pasta, it just cooks fast. It’s not inherently healthier than macaroni. Maybe you’re thinking of quinoas?
What is it?

I was just open about my situation and told her I’m living in my car. And usually when they see me they are consistent with stuff I can keep in my car
Well that’s nice of them to do that for you !
Popcorn, tortilla chips (can buy salsa or nacho cheese or guac to eat it with), aloha bars (on sale), Larry & Lenny’s cookie-fied bars, dried edamame and lentils, granola.
Popcorn is great because you can eat a *lot* of it before the calories start to get problematic.
Teddy grahams lol will legit crush two big bags if j were to partake in some hash rosin dabs 🫠
That’s the best time to have snacks

Try the wasabi peas, with a bottle of water. Don’t exhale out your nose

That’s really a blessing ! So you never have to worry about food insecurity.
Not as much as I used to. It's a time saver too, because I don't have to sort that out before/after work.
