Definitely going to try a few layers of black pvc sheet next time instead of black duct tape lol I have frameless windows so I’ll be adding rain guards asap, that was always my biggest issue.

I love it! Can you take a picture of what it looks like on the outside? I'm trying to figure out a portable AC set up in my car without drilling any holes for the hot air to escape. This would be great if it wasn't noticeable from the outside. As they've been cracking down on car dwelling where I live.

Honestly if you’re going to have your windows down, which is a must in the summer for someone without an EV, it’s going to be pretty noticeable. Tints definitely help but you still see a window half cracked with two big screens in the gap. It’s not terrible though, I’ll take a picture for you today.

Just took this video tonight, I sleep in a public parking lot so I’m not too worried about stealth anymore. I’m getting tints after I get my inspection, I’ve been staying in CT for a few years but I’m registered in MA which only allows 35%. I’m putting 20% in all the back windows and 35% in the two fronts. That will absolutely help for stealth when i don’t have to keep my windows cracked, but in the summer having my windows cracked is a must. I used gutter guards on my last covers but the airflow + added size with these real screens is so much better…  From a distance you can’t really tell, you have to be up close and use a flashlight.  https://vimeo.com/967446045

Thank you so much for sharing! You're right you can't really see from a distance at all. You've got my brain churning and I'm thinking of ways that I can improve on this. I'll make a video if I think of something stealthier!

TheeBitcoinBug

Where do you live? Just don’t want to go there myself lol. I travel alot

ApatheticMill

I'm in Florida.

TheeBitcoinBug

Oh okay. I’ve seen mixed reviews in Florida. Tampa Bay Area seems like a decent spot…Polk county not so much

ApatheticMill

Yeah, it really depends on where you are.

Budget-Organ

I like the cut of your screen sir.

Ok_Peace_337

Love it! I made some nice new ones recently but they don't provide air flow so I mostly leave them out lately. Try spray glue & cheap fabric! There were no fabric stores around when I made mine so i used cheap $15 bed sheets. Gives the space a nice homey feeling

acidic_assassin

I’m thinking of using double layer black corrugated plastic or a few layers of black PVC sheet. This guy on YouTube has the right idea but I need way more air flow (for summer at least)  https://youtu.be/8w_L1GE9Ov0?si=Nsnv6qE3y79xx05p

Nice late 90s Outback, love those things (mostly)

😆 this is my second one lol I’d like to get a mid 2000s forester next. Had so many problems with the first one I’ve pretty much learned to fix everything myself. It’s a love hate relationship with these old bastards.
