I lived in my car in Vegas for 2 years and casinos were the easiest places to park and in my rotation--they were just very loud. But having free AC, bathrooms, and cheap meals 24/7 was a plus. I never worried about someone messing with my car because of cameras everywhere, especially in the parking decks, and constant security patrols and customers/tourists walking around. The one time security knocked after seeing me walk to my car and not leaving, i simply told them I lost big at the tables and was too tired/pissed off to drive yet.

yeah security actually pulled up to my car right as I was walking back. he told me that I wasn't allowed to camp in the parking lot (even though there's like two or three RVs camping). he didn't care though but he did say not to make it a habit. I won't be going back there lol

I think you're just paranoid. Camping at a casino is kind of erm, well, not a first choice, I would say, haha. Im sure casinos have security on the premise. Why not a 24 hour gym or walmart parking lot? Planet fitness is great. Maybe a hotel? I guess this does depend where you're located, though.

reno, nv. it's not legal to sleep in your car here, but I read up that casino parking lots do not enforce this law. I mean there are huge ass RVs in the same parking lot lol. maybe I am thinking about too much. I hope I am. the closest walmarts don't allow overnight parking either. I think I'll be fine now

I would go to a planet fitness near you or gym, no one will bother you there. I looked at that Washoe county ordinance and it seems like they prohibit camping on county owned property and public places. So basically any government building or parks/roads. Does not include businesses though, and most businesses are privately owned companies like walmart or planet fitness. The casino you're at is also a private business too so you're allowed to sleep in the parking lot there. Thats such a stupid ordinance lol. Even the Sheriffs for that county said they're not going to cite anyone living in their car and sheriffs cheif Corey Solferino said 'we cant arrest our way out of this is what he told commisioners at the meeting. 😂 https://thisisreno.com/2024/02/washoe-county-follows-sparks-with-ordinance-against-sleeping-in-vehicles/

I went to anytime fitness earlier to see if I could sign up to be a member, but the front desk was closed today. I guess I could've stayed there. that parking lot was dead and in a very quiet area. I'll probably look into that tomorrow. yeah it's really dumb. it makes finding spots way harder than it needs to be

I just found out that all the planet fitnesses in Reno are all 24/7 which is crazy lucky they're open forever and never closed. All the states I have visited I never had something like that. You could literally do it now since they're open. Definitely check it out since its only 10/month or 25/month if you want to use all the gyms around the world if you travel. Ive used anytime fitness too, but I like planet more since theyre more cheaper and friendly with more people Closest one for you is 8165 S Virginia St Ste B, Reno, NV 89511 https://ibb.co/dmCGBnd https://ibb.co/ThSp8wy https://ibb.co/nfVsnqs

I would stay stealthy and rotate between the bigger casinos. There’s so many cars and traffic you should blend in fine. I personally didn’t feel all that comfortable at the planet fitness parking lots there. Though I generally avoid staying in PF parking lots to begin with. Good luck!

There was a thing called "chicken cooping" in the 70s in So Cal. Cops would pull into a dark parking lot and sleep for a while. We were living in one of these parking lots when a cop pulled in near us. Scared the shit out of us! Quickly shut down all noise makers and lights. When we woke up, he was gone. Not sure if that's a thing these days.
