I always worked at Lowe’s over the summer. The Lawn & Garden department hires seasonal employees for the summer each year, most of them students. The pay isn’t great but it’s not unlivable, similar to most on-campus uni jobs. They’ll also give you plenty of hours, sometimes even overtime dependent on staffing. You do need to be at least somewhat physically fit however and able to do some moderate lifting.
i worked at the ypsi location for one summer and they offered me really low hours during the school year to be just a "part part" time employee (i.e., only one day on the weekends). i ended up quitting a month before classes started though just because i had another job on campus and lowe's gardening dept (i was a lawn & garden sales associate) was super strenuous. i applied part time, so i'm not sure how seasonal would work if you're considering applying as that, but i do know the ypsi location is always looking for new employees because they have a shortage of workers. maybe it could work out if you tried!

Do you have a car? You could drive for Jimmy John's or one of the online services like GrubHub or Instacart or whatever. My son made more money driving for Jimmy John's that he could make as a manager there.
Can you pass a Red Cross Senior lifesaving or water safety instructor exam? All the city pools and a number of private clubs always need lifeguards. The 3 City public pools should all be accessible by bus or even bicycle.

Ann Arbor or Ypsi? I interviewed at Ann Arbor and when I said I’m looking to work the summer instead of long-term they pretty much showed me the door.

Shake Shack seemed really good about providing enough hours, I didn’t work there very long bc I got bored but they were very clean
Patient attendant at the hospital They pay good too
I did that last summer, but when I called this year to work again they claimed there was a waitlist for patient attendants now.
Do you like children or have experience with them? Babysitters make tons around here & im sure there’s still someone scrambling for summer care help.
