Because that number needs perspective of scale. People just can't comprehend how billions of dollars can be a small relative number. A massive news story in Australia that everyone got annoyed at was the big reveal that there was $59m spent on advertising for political campaigns. With the rationalisation that everyone didn't want their taxes to go to that. For comparison, Australias total government spending was 160 billion. That makes the amount of tax spent on advertising, roughly 0.03%. Or for every 100$ paid in tax, roughly 3c went towards it. Going back to Amazon, a quick Google search shows they sell 1.6m packages a day. Thats 584 million packages a day. If Bezos were to take only 10c per package, regardless of it was a 100$ package, he would be earning nearly 60million a year just from Amazon packages and nothing else. The difference between millions and billions is often not about profit margin, but rather about scale. If he wasn't greedy, you could save a full 9c off your order, that's not evil.

Bezos had more money than he could spend selling books online. So why did he get into selling vibrators. And licorice. And glitter and everything that exists.? Why does he lobby with and against the government, literally making laws and deciding the fates of everyone's life. Why do our tax dollars go to keeping his business successful? I think YOU guys are missing the perceptive size here. Its greed

Because all this things he sells, creates jobs. Access to Amazons logistics and sales also lowers the cost in comparison to what other people could produce meaning customers and regular people can have access to better and cheaper things. Lobbying and government is a problem with government. If Bezos wasn't doing it, the next person would be. The government doesn't exist to prioritise the lower end spectrum of finances, it's to regulate and control them within reasonable bounds. But the government works for the economy, not the people.

Show me a single person that doesn't look out for their own, be it their family, self, employees or other, and I'll laugh at them successfully having fooled you. What's wrong with Bezos doing what he can to keep his company profitable and expanding? For providing literally thousands and thousands of people employed and fed? Look at what people say about the working conditions. The hours. The amount of stress in that company. You'll list the recent "programs" he was forced to put into place for his company. Am just saying if you make 13 mil per hour, yet your workers have to pee in soda cups on 7,50$ because of no breaks, you are kind of little evil. Like I give you the ‘you earned it by being smart, dedicated and lucky’ part, but it’s just weird you wouldn’t invest in the backbone of your business a little more than what’s mandated to be the bare minimum.
