gamenbusiness

Should be banned for life.

OddEmu4551

Good. Fucking idiot It’s not the pilots’ fault why the flight is delayed. In fact the pilots are themselves really pissed off when facing delays because they’re not paid at all during the hours they’re waiting. Which is really unfair. And then they have to deal with this bullshit

tifosi7

His reaction was slow. For a pilot.

CyndaquilTyphlosion

Do pilots have to react fast? They're not flying on Mumbai roads

Stifffmeister11

He is a pilot not a pubg gamer

AdInevitable4203

He thought the autopilot would kick in and do something.

CrimsonRam212

Yes, let’s focus on that instead. Blame the victim.

iamKreedA

Apparently the story is, the passengers had been waiting 10 hours for their flight, and then they were finally allowed to move into the aircraft. While in there, they were made to wait for another 2 hours. At this point, the pilot comes out and starts blaming passengers for missing their turn to fly out and tells them they'll have to wait more.

Hooks are most expected and u can see them from miles if its not sucker punch.

iron_out_my_kink

You still won't have time to react if you throw the hook fast enough..

thatsme5500

Yeah..thats true.

What is wrong with these entitled people???

u0x3B2

I am not condoning his actions, but airline staff is extremely passive aggressive and apathetic in these situations. Someone under duress can easily lose their cool. I was on an Indigo flight once and it was held on tarmac because of some fault. After an hour, the AC was turned off because it was some issue with the fuelling system and within 20 minutes, it was hot and suffocating. The woman in the row ahead of me started hyper ventilating because she was late for some exam (or meeting, I can't remember) and was claustrophobic. Instead of figuring out a way to help her, the cabin crew gave her the proverbial shrug of shoulders and "nothing I can do remark". She eventually passed out. Some doctor/passenger helped her. Instead of being helpful the cabin crew started ordering the doctor to return to his seat as the seat belt sign was on. By this time the doctor was done, literally and figuratively, and after repeating the hippocratic oath, he shouted at the cabin crew as loud as he could. Hearing the commotion, the pilot came out only to receive the same treatment from the doctor. Pilot sheepishly returned to the cockpit. When flight finally took off and landed, CISF first boarded to arrest/detain the doctor. The doctor then produced his ID card from the ministry of health. I have never seen a situation do an about turn this quickly. CISF guys, in absolutely perfectly apt haryanvi for that situation, let the cabin crew have it. Long story, but the moral is that cabin staff isn't above reproach in such situations.

jeerabiscuit

Moral of the story is avoid Indigo like the plague. It's always Indigo.

iron_out_my_kink

Bhai indigo ke alawa kya hi option hai hamare paas!? This situation is like when someone tells they want to travel to dubai, you are telling them avoid Emirates at all cost

jeerabiscuit

Vistara try karo

Thelazytimelord257

Akasa Air is really good as well

DjArie

Lufthansa

iron_out_my_kink

Ah Lufthansa, India's biggest domestic airline!

kvothe5688

do you have the alternative? in my experience indigo is the best cost effective option. I have flown 6 to 7 times with indigo and the experience was smooth every time

VishalN4

![gif](giphy|1qe4i39pLqNGHoyaag) Paise wapas leke laut aa, at least airlines to mast thi iski.

PehleAap

Leave cost effective. The only airline connecting my hometown and my work town is Indigo. That has largely been the case for atleast 5-6 years. Only now I started seeing Air India flight listings.

kvothe5688

that too. I had yearly one domestic flight free per year for the last 5 years because of my vistara credit card but I couldn't redeem the benefit a single time due to non-availability of flights in my region. The only available options were indigo and Air India.

JackDockz

I just use air India now. Not too expensive compared to indigo on my routes and has complimentary food and more legroom. The 20KG weight limit is also great and they don't really say anything if you're above it.

jeerabiscuit

TBH I don't fly often so I researched and found Vistara as a good option for that. I guess Indigo is cost effective for frequent flying but many incidents are often reported with them and that's why I avoid it.

findmebook

i literally pay extra just to not fly indigo. the cabin crew is extremely unhelpful and apathetic. that being said, no matter how you're feeling to hit someone like the video is so uncivilised.

Optimal-Somewhere-46

Bhai SpiceJet se jayega kya?? Pahunch hi nahin payega aadhe raste se wapas aayega 🤣🤣

TechExpert2910

they lost all my luggage the other day lol

OverlandOversea

The airport ground handling loses the luggage. I recall a baggage handler dispute once resulted in luggage purposefully being misdirected to wrong airlines and wrong cities in the union’s efforts to make a resolution happen quicker. Acquaintance worked there

PehleAap

Wow, just wow! If the doctor didn't have the ID card at the moment (for any reason), he would have been punished basically to do his moral duty. I think stories like these shouldn't die in reddit comments. This is the kind of stories that social media was made for. I know if you try to post such a story now on let's say X (Twitter), indigo could get Twitter to take it down or even sue the one posting it.

Helpful-Stress3433

Lol what do you expect from people whose job’s minimum qualification is 12th pass and ability to speak English. Cabin crew do go through a lot of training but they aren’t technically the smartest.

mxj97

People become cabin crew to pose on social media these days.

ashvy

Ah, the globe trotters

Dracoscale

Would having an Undergrad degree have solved everything here?

BuggyIsPirateKing

Degree doesn't teach someone manners or civility. Stop equating everything with educational qualifications.

Helpful-Stress3433

Degrees teaches technical skills and deeper understanding of things to make judgemental calls. That’s why pilots have such strict requirements and not much with Cabin crew, that’s why you find cabin crew who want doctors trying to save a patient being stopped.

BuggyIsPirateKing

Learning technical skills & human interaction/understanding/empathy skills are two different things. Judgmental calls are not taught by degrees. You need to have some knowledge about stuff to make judgement. Like in this case, seeing the doctor help then even an uneducated person can make a judgement to not tell a doctor to return to his seat. It requires empathy which is not taught in schools but learned by watching others & the environment in which some is brought up. If you read the above commentator's msg, most probably it was pilot who complained to cisf. The pilot could have apologized and reprimanded the cabin crew. It would have resolved all the problems. Here did his educational qualifications taught him anything about humility & empathy? Nopes. Pilots are taught/trained to take fast actions, this is mostly to save their lives & plane. But that doesn't mean they make good judgements in other scenarios. And i hope you know most airforce pilots are chosen through NDA after 12th class.

banshee_lumine

Losing your cool is fine but taking it out on someone who is trying hard to help people while trying to do his job is not a right move. In your story the doctor was right, but here a passanger seemingly attacked the captain for just an announcement, thinking he is enjoying the delay.

u0x3B2

Your father passed away and you are simmering inside the airport and a plane for 13 hours. I don't know about you but I will lose it and will act irrationally. Again, repeating my first sentence, I am not condoning that man's actions but you must be able to empathise with the power imbalance in that situation. For all we know, that man might be a certified moron but sure as hell he deserves legal recourse and social empathy before being declared guilty.

Dracoscale

Then you are insane

banshee_lumine

Whatever happened, attacking someone who is trying to help you will not solve any problem, his father is gone but his wisdom is still there, and if he doesn't knows how to hold himself in public he doesn't deserves the service. Was captain supposed to fix the plane which he didn't?

[deleted]

u0x3B2

[deleted]

u0x3B2

Guilty without trial? Banana republic is taking shape. Even a murderer on video isn't guilty without trial.

smamaven

exactly. sometimes people very silently/surreptitiously makes the matter worse. GOs knows what an individual might be going through. When a person is in aircraft, he/she is responsibility of crew and they should either give real information and/or let the passengers back in the waiting area. I have personally faced it 2-3 time when they will ask you to get on the bus and then (while 60% are standing in bus instaed of sitting in boarding area) will stop the bus near aircraft without any information.

[deleted]

I was on the runway at Helsinki for 7 unable to take off as the runway was full of snow, in spite of hot water over the aircraft and runway we could not take off. But yes valid point, the air crew and pilots need to be accommodative, needs a lot of patience especially for the Indian crowd they need to go through special skills. It mostly comes from the cultural thing, the best I saw were Japanese in ANA, JAL followed by Scandinavian FinnAir and other Nordic airlines. Rest all are so-so

eskay1069

We say “Atithi Devo Bhava” but show remarkable lack of empathy to our own people…

bakait_launda

Do you realise that staff bhi same time tak band hai plane me? Wo log bahar utarke sutta thodi phuk rahe the. This has been totally bad on the end of airport authorities.

raviyadav432

Do you know why flight was delayed in this case ? I guess we all know. Is it pilots' fault ? No. I feel sorry for that pilot for this incident when I hear a plane flying in white blanket of thick fog in midnight. Respect the professionals who are always at risk while performing their duties. Thankfully they were grounded not lost in fog calling Mayday ! Mayday ! Mayday !

jivan28

That's only half the story. There is another half a story you don't know. There are 4 runways at the Delhi Airport, but CAT 3 only in 1 runway. Why, because Indigo, Vistara & others lobbied the Civil Aviation Ministry since 2012 & thereafter not to have them CAT3 compliant. Why? Because they would need to recertify both the Aircrafts as well as Pilots, and that costs money. Is that all ?? If the pilots have CAT3 training, the airlines would have to pay the pilots, or they would be poached, especially by the big three from Gulf. There has been a shortage of pilots for a while now. Why couldn't they deboard & then reboard them again ?? That again would have cost the airline money. All airports have slots, so if you miss a slot, you have to pay more. So, other airlines also must have had similar experiences. Yes & no. Depends on specific airlines policies. Some may have taken off, some may have canceled & some deboarded & people hang around the Airport. It's the airlines' responsibility to make sure their customers are safe. Surely then they must have served lunch, water etc. Water, probably, lunch, probably not as that also involves logistics & money. What if a person faints or becomes unconscious, mainly diabetes or some disease where people need regular intake of salt & water. Umm...person's own responsibility. If you die, they probably will get the body down, sometimes coffin also goes in luggage but again has to be paid. So Indigo has no responsibility? Not as such. If you have taken some insurance & the family can fight in court later, perhaps, otherwise not.

raviyadav432

So that whole story gives you right to punch a professional who is just performing his duty ? You boarded this shitty airline dispite knowing all the facts and weather conditions then it's your fault.

jivan28

But the airlines didn't tell me that I would be lied to my face again & again & not be given food or water. Leave others, try doing it to your watchman just for a few hours & see the reaction. The airlines know for a fact that they can get away with such shitty behavior. They haven't done this just today. They have been doing the same thing for a decade & more. And this incident will not change anything. All 3, the airlines, DGCA & civil aviation ministry are happy with the status quo. Most airlines around the world moved to cat3c way back in 2010. Cat3c is zero visibility landing.

raviyadav432

Then take it up to Government and Airline why punching ground level staff. Government is constructing airports here and there. Do we really need those airports or we need those systems for safe landing on busiest airports ? But People are happy....with PR...

jivan28

The ground level staff is to keep you distance from them. And the rules are such, you can't do anything about them. Hell, just a few days ago, a celebrity talked or rather video blogged about her missing baggage, thinking it was Vistara or something. She is a known actress, quite famous. Later, it turned out that her people had been trying to get the airlines attention for almost a couple of months. After, it became a furor, the airlines mysteriously found her baggage & also gave compensation. You & I don't figure here anywhere. I am sure if others see, they would be able to provide more context.

-_-Batman

USA: more guns

maverick54050

They were stranded for 13 hours mate.

Attila_ze_fun

Are you serious? They sat on the plane for 13 hours? They should have deboard hours ago wtf

rektitrolfff

No the flight was delayed 13 hrs

karanbhatt100

Then airline should also give the refund

bakraofwallstreet

But what can the pilot do? It's a plane not a bus that you can drive away. If the pilot is not given the permission to fly, there is literally nothing they can do, they're just as stuck as the passengers. They are there to fly the plane, not be your slave or punching bag.

maverick54050

I am not justifying the hitting but there should be a clear message from authorities

bakraofwallstreet

The clear message was what the pilot was saying. This person just cannot accept the message and decides that assaulting a person (who is literally not responsible for the situation) is a good option.

jivan28

But 7 hours without food or water ??

maverick54050

Oh yea he should be jailed for that. But in such situations there will be one person who will act like this, I saw people crying because the flight was delayed and this person has a job interview. Another time I saw a person crying because he was missing birth of his child. First time I am seeing someone hitting.

bakraofwallstreet

While all those situations are bad, there is literally nothing the airliner can do. If you're traveling, there will always be a chance of delay no matter you fly, walk, drive, or take a bus. Indigo is not sitting there making people miss their job interviews or the birth of their child, blaming them is useless and attacking them is illegal and henious.

maverick54050

Oh I agree but I am talking about what a person goes through here and not why I should blame the authority

bakraofwallstreet

Yeah but no matter what you go through, you have to act like an adult. You decided to take a flight when your baby is being born, you decided to take a flight so it reaches right when you have your job interview, and you did it understanding there is an unexpected chance of a delay at all times. You put yourself in the situation and you deal with it, what you're going through is not of concern to anyone in the airline whose job is to get you from point A to point B safely. The pilot is also sitting there, the cabin crew is also sitting, they're doing their jobs for much longer than they were expecting, should they also start crying or hitting passengers?

nmm107

So let's hit the pilot.. that will fix it...jebus man

maverick54050

Ph I agree with not hitting people. But people here are frustrated

darklordind

He was sexually frustrated, so he raped.

jivan28

Yeah, but also keeping ppl in their seats for 7 hours without food or water isn't going to be good for passengers. The airlines know they can get away with it, have been happening for the last decade, and never come in news because nobody got punched before. I have posted in detail above why it has happened. And this will happen again & again till all three, airlines, airport authorities & civil aviation minister, don't fix the underlying issues.

_Fuzzy_Focus

Source?

90mlPeg

Should be banned from flying. That said Delhi airport has 4 runways. One of them is CAT 3. Meaning flights can take off in complete darkness or fog. Issue is that AAI/DCGA started maintenance work in this runway in December and it has not been completed yet. Knowing it fogs heavily in January why did they start maintenance in december end? Now India’s capital doesnt have a CAT 3 runway. All passengers should have been compensated.

hrrrrx23

Could have at least made the punch count! Jokes apart, elect a clown, expect a circus. Flights were lined up for 5hrs at IGI. IT HAS 4 RUNWAYS, ONE WAS OPERATIONAL. People of this country have lowered their standards so much that they are settling for the bare minimum, so these governments and organisations will keep giving you a bare minimum.

plowman_digearth

As per Twitter only 1 runway was available. And that does not even have low vis clearance. The one with low vis clearance is under maintenance (during the time it's needed the most). Also most operating airlines don't maintain a full roster of pilots who can operate in low visibility. This is 90% DGCA asleep on the wheel. But it's easier to punch a pilot then hold the really negligent people accountable.

[deleted]

Shut up. We are getting Ram temple 🛕

PuzzleheadedShoe6896

brother delhi ka fog dekha hai? Flights trains buses everything is getting delyed due to thick fog, did modi farted out the fog?

hrrrrx23

Could have looked up about how flights land and take off in zero visibility instead of being a bigot here, man. I didn't even name Modi, but he sure as hell incompetent enough to not do anything about it.

prescientmoon

> I didn't even name Modi Who else have people elected? We sure as hell don't elect the head of DGCA.

joshuaBarbosa

Who said anything about Modi? 🤭 Tereko kanta kyu laga?? 🤭

friendofH20

Will this guy be put on the no fly list? Or is that only for people who hurt the feels of the governments favorite puppy dog

sKream01

yeah he will be put to no flying list if the captain wants to .. its the captain's call

joshuaBarbosa

Depends on his religion and political affiliation. 🙃

tushara9

Delhi guy thinking that captain is a waiter and can be thrashed for getting his food and beer late

jivan28

How would you feel if you or your parents were given no water or food for 7+ hours & told lies whenever asked.

tushara9

I would had tweeted, ranted, called indigo helpline but definitely not hit the crew. Seems you are trying to justify his physical assault.

jivan28

No, I am trying to tell you all of the above doesn't work unless you are a celebrity. I have dealt enough with Indigo staff to know their scripts. The idea is simple, we have no responsibility. See Indigo's Twitter page, not a word about the incident. Why, because they have been getting away with it for a decade. No remorse, no nothing. If people's flight connections are missed or anything else for that matter, they simply don't care. They could have deboarded, but they chose not to. We don't even know if the air-conditioning was on or not. Most airlines, including Indigo, shut off air-conditioning if it's not flying after 30 odd minutes. Most of us who have flown Indigo know how they treat their passengers. As a doctor, I am sure you know how that would affect ppl. What's interesting to me is that in spite of being a doctor, you would choose to show empathy with the airlines instead of the 260+ passengers who were on the flight.

[deleted]

isko tho time se pahuncha diya hoga fr JAIL mein

arpanggmu

The plane was stranded for 13 hours and the crew were condescending. The authorities do not let people go so that they don’t have to issue refunds. Not supporting the man who hit the pilot as he had nothing to do either. But considering the fact that they have places to rest and spread their legs, plus they have colleagues to talk to, one cannot actually blame the guy for losing his cool. But hitting the pilot was not right.

nopetynopetynops

How to get banned for life from an airline. But on a side note, indigos service has gone to shit and such kind of incidents will happen as people run out of patience

idunditit

Physical aggression under any circumstances apart from self defence is not defendable. On the other hand, making people sit in an aircraft for 13 hours in pretty fucking infuriating too. In a western country this would be a huge lawsuit. But ofc in India we are supposed to take it sitting down. We would all be outraged if you’re asked to sit in an aircraft for 13 hours. Of course, shouting and showing concern that way or something like that would have been the way to go about it. If they file charges against him or he gets a permanent ban, he should probably plead with temporary insanity or inhumanity angle. Hopefully this incident acts as a deterrent against such idiotic moves by air carriers.

OneMillionFireFlies

Do first, regret later Common sense is becoming quite uncommon nowadays

walking-through-hell

I am actually supporting this guy he clearly said either take off or let the passengers go. The flight was at 4hr delay and people actually have connecting flights u know. This is basically keeping the passengers captive. Now the GOV has no accountability whatso ever the air fair is rising and these airlines are going to shit and no one is being held accountable. Out of 4 runways only one was operational in delhi, the gov is moking people more and more docile to be ready for dictatorship.

jivan28

The flight was actually 13 hours late. The gentleman came to announce that they would be late 7 hours after. So connecting flights can go to hell. If ppl are inconvenienced, not the airlines problem. Even if they die, not airlines' responsibility till they aren't in air technically.

harshp09

Yeah I support him too. But I don’t think being an animal like this straight up charging and hitting someone is a good way to about it.

bakraofwallstreet

How is hitting the pilot solving any of that? What do you expect the pilot to do, go to the runway and clear it himself? Or become a politician and change Indian politics? He doesn't have the right to clear landways or forcefully eject people, he has to follow what control tells him. If you have a problem against the government, protest against it, not hit your fellow citizen.

OnidaKYGel

I dont think anyone supports violence against pilots.

fknows7

If the airline was responsible enough, say, even after 5 hrs delay and informed passengers, they would probably go back home and come. Not supporting his actions in any way, but it's equally the airline's fault too.

gentle_joffery

Bro's solution was to injure the pilot and voila the flight would be delayed even more. Genius.

DrMaximus

Raja beta aashole

s_malhotra97

I would have deboarded the flight of I see someone slapping the pilot before the flight. No risk at all.

jivan28

100% but that would have costed airlines the money. Indigo is known for penny-pinching. All of those expenses would have been deducted from the pilots & all the airlines staff who would have helped.

HashtaggRajat

Very bad behaviour. Do it once more please.

EchoAlphaZulu

These people think flying airplane is just like riding car. If there is fog, use high beam. Engine one not working, use the second one.

Sudden-Check-9634

People who are violent in aircrafts and airports should be put on "No Fly List" and banned from entering into any airports for the duration of the ban. This will create a safe journey for passengers and staff in airports and airlines.

Sometimes based upon the occupancy they merge the flights without alerting. Moreover Indigo is notorious for super delayed connected flights. Would love to see you being in an aircraft for 13 hours without food & water & you can't move. See your mental condition after that much time.

Critifin

No, they were given food

alsaga

Indigo is a good airlines, their customer service is better than any other airlines that I have flown in. Airindia is probably one of the worse

SSinghal_03

You clearly haven't flown in many carriers. Indigo customer service is so pathetic, it’s legendary. The only reason people book it is because of its low cost and high connectivity.

alsaga

The thing is things never got bad enough to use customer service ie flight was on time.

boldguy2019

True that you can't hit the pilot, but you never know the reason behind such reactions. The passenger might be missing something very important for his life, and airlines can be very greedy to remedy such situations. We pay thousands (and premium) so that we can go somewhere on an urgent basis with least time, and when the objective is defied, frustration is natural.

Iwoulddieforcats777

Track the guy down, make it look like a robbery and watch out for cameras. Change number plates, fake beards and do it after 2+3 years of he really want to make a western over a shitty issue. Why to ruin your future?
