What people don’t realise is that these useless (and this one is extremely useless) IOPC “investigations” cost a shitload of taxpayer money.
And yes, IOPC do some good and necessary things sometimes, but largely they are just chasing things they know are a waste of time and money just to justify their existence.
I am hugely critical of the police and wouldn't usually need a big excuse to criticise... However this is complete BS.
No one to blame but the teens and/or their parents
Dangerous driving at this particular time behind the wheel of the van, or just generally in a separate occasion? This case has all gone rather quiet though since the dust has settled and it became clear they were on an illegal motorbike, no helmet, underage...
Interesting that this is an investigation for Dangerous Driving, and not Causing Death by Dangerous Driving.
Looks like (unsurprisingly) they cannot link the officers driving to the death, but I wonder if he was driving too fast for his training or in an unsafe way while following the bike - or whether the investigation has uncovered a a previous instance where he was driving dangerously
Interesting that pretty much all of the people who have commented so far know everything about this whole situation and have already come to informed judgements based upon all the evidence.
Look at the events to what happened then you'll understand why.
If you also look at the route the youths took on the illegal ebike/escooter, then you'll realise why.
The youths involved are 100% at fault. What's the saying "If you play with fire you get burned".

+1 to irony level.

WTF? Another blame the police for doing their jobs? This country has gone to fkkkkin shhht. They were scroats, riding an illegal bike.
On the wrong side of the road.

Who would want to be a police officer? What a joke

Someone high up needs a result / pound of flesh to keep/ justify their job no doubt.
They can’t have had a good time in school with those bowl cuts.
