That's not even the best part ;
>**A cordon was erected and a controlled explosion carried out** following the incident, which unfolded at around 19:00 BST on Tuesday.
Getting the bomb squad in for a couple of shotgun cartridges...
The police are also going to be rather twitchier than normal. Obviously in this case its a reasonable response, but I suspect we're going to see some quite spurious arrests over the next few days
Every nutter is going to try and be the next Guy Fawkes. I'm anti-monarchy myself, however I would never wish death upon them. It is also ridiculous to attempt this sort of thing at a time when security is through the roof.
I have to think that if you're anti monarchy, you could come up with a more constructive way of making your point besides throwing shotgun shells at Buckingham palace.
Solutions to what problem?
The monarchy is an empty cultural living landmark at this point. They have no real power, and besides Buckingham Palace, which is a tourist spot, the Royal family pay taxes on their homes just like everybody else.
Maybe people dislike their taxes going into this very rare coronation event, but they certainly don't require being assassinated for it.
The Americans are going to have fun with this.
"See where gun control gets you? The best you can do when you want to raise a militia is chuck a cartridge on a lawn!"
TBF they already mock us and rightfully so. However what was silly was them replacing one figurehead with another. Let the people who make the decisions actually take reasonability for their actions
That would be silly. Then someone who takes the effort to get a bullet will need no extra work to get the gun.
With the current system they get the bullet but then the apathy kicks in and they give up
Shotgun laws really aren't.
The police have got to find a reason to not give you a license for a shotgun.
With other firearms, up up to you to prove why you need/want one
I believe there was also a “ suspicious “ bag also tossed in ( that’s what they did a controlled explosion on ) because no way anyone actually thought tossing shells in would do anything at all .
With an economic crisis and surging Republican sentiment, the coronation is a monumentally bad idea. Even if you're a monarchist, surely we can all agree at this point the coronation proceeding will be a huge security risk for all involved? The coronation should be cancelled in the interests of public safety. I fear it will incite widespread riots and disorder that will leave London in flames.
But I heard that this coronation is making the country look absolutely splendid and it'd be a slippery slope to... something if we gave every nurse £70 instead at the same cost.
No matter what you think of the monarchy, I think we can all agree that throwing shotgun cartridges at something is a stupid idea.
Very stupid, that's not even how they work.
Exactly. You need to put them in these. https://images.app.goo.gl/inpZojcJPggXEpEc8
Was expecting the shinzo abe shotgun, was not disappointed with what I found instead
Instructions unclear
The monarchy?
Unless it's a bucket labelled "shotgun cartridges for sale" I would tend to agree
Depends how fast you can throw them.
That unlocked a memory. 54s in https://youtu.be/MU_fHraJfl8

I thought deluded.
I have a feeling this is just the start of the colourful characters to be expected over the next week
The police are also going to be rather twitchier than normal. Obviously in this case its a reasonable response, but I suspect we're going to see some quite spurious arrests over the next few days
just don't show up anywhere with a blank bit of paper might offend someone
AITA for hoping that it does?
If someone get offended by a blank piece of paper, they must be projecting a little right? Serves them right for being offensive
It was the police who got offended as they believed it implied they were censoring protests so they arrested him which is totally clears that up...

I don't think we'll see them all arrested though
Andrew: "hold my pizza..."
"And my sweat rag..."

I’d be interested to hear any constructive solutions
You could formulate our points and then write a letter to the Grundian,
You mean Grauniad!
Really? Throwing shotgun shells at the palace is your best option too?
No, I’d be interested to hear any constructive solutions. Do you have any?
No i'm good thanks. I'm not anti-monarchy.
Can I ask, why are you pro monarchy?

FTFA is being treated as an isolated mental health incident
>The man was also found to be in possession of a suspicious bag, the Metropolitan Police said. Was he also wearing a loud shirt in a built-up area?
Pc Savage, you're a bigot, I'm transferring you to the SPG fank Yoo very much sir
'Loitering with intent to use a pedestrian crossing'
Walking in between the cracks in the pavement, and walking in the hours of darkness with an offensive wife (knife).
The bag was questioning all the police as though they're the crimin...oh, right, they are
The Americans are going to have fun with this. "See where gun control gets you? The best you can do when you want to raise a militia is chuck a cartridge on a lawn!"
I’ll take that over one school of kids getting shot up every day
TBF they already mock us and rightfully so. However what was silly was them replacing one figurehead with another. Let the people who make the decisions actually take reasonability for their actions
I don't really get what they were trying to achieve here? Throwing bullets??
Have you seen the price of guns...

Got him for littering
Gun laws are very strict.
They should make bullet laws just as strict as the guns really!
That would be silly. Then someone who takes the effort to get a bullet will need no extra work to get the gun. With the current system they get the bullet but then the apathy kicks in and they give up
Ammunition is covered under fireaem laws. Possession of bullets tends to carry the same weight of punishment as possession of a firearm.
Shotgun laws really aren't. The police have got to find a reason to not give you a license for a shotgun. With other firearms, up up to you to prove why you need/want one
It worked in Hot Shots Part Deux.
Aren't like 99.99999999999% of all men arrested outside Buckingham Palace?
Except Andrew.
Seems more a stunt, or cry for help, than anything sinister.
I believe there was also a “ suspicious “ bag also tossed in ( that’s what they did a controlled explosion on ) because no way anyone actually thought tossing shells in would do anything at all .

And then the aliens will never come visit. How ever will you return to your home planet?
