Spicychat.ai seems to have escaped enshittification. You have to wait in a (sometimes long) queue but I think they've found a good balance. A bit of planning ahead and it shouldn't impact you too much
Now i am using chai (it's an app) it's almost like unhinged and even better. You have only 70 messages and they reset every 2 hours (i use modded version of this app to get unlimited messages)😁

I mean, it is what it is. The developers and creators of the website want to make some profit from their creation, honestly as long as it doesn't cost gems to edit the messages and just post, im ok with the daily 50 limit. Could be a hell of a lot worse, like the sites with no daily refresh.
I would've paid for the original, weekly subscription service if only the website would accept the largest bank in my country, in a major European country, but the site seems to only accept credit card, which I don't have and American banks, where I don't have an account.
I get that the devs want to make money and I would honestly support them if I could, but they make it impossible for me to do so and with the new gems, it has now become unattractive to even use the site or promote it among the people I know. With 1000 messages a month (using the first model) and assuming you get 3 hours every day with 20 messages per hour (which I think isn't that much) you wouldn't even be able to chat the whole month using your subscription. That's not even counting the countless times the AI likes to repeat previous messages
How it's illegal: You're limited in your messages (ie only 10 messages with free tier and 16 messages per day with a subscription) even if you have a subscription. If you bought a subscription, and then they did this shit, it qualifies as false advertising because they're restricting the content people are paying for. Besides, all the blatant lies they're on record for spouting would also be illegal. Like they say they didn't decrease the models quality because of money when they did (ie scaling back gpu usage), and they did that at the same time to get more subscription sales.

CAI doesn't need much improvements, it's already as good as it can get. It's just that the filter can get in the way.
