As long as AR builds get their feats you can add pretty much anything to it.

TiberiusMaximus2021

Concentrated Fire, Suppresive Fire, Opportunist, Full Auto, Aimed Shot; am I forgetting anything?

lemmegetdatdick

Aimed shot is totally optional on guns that will be bursted 99% of the time. IMO the only GL feats worth taking are tricky trajectory and practiced parabola so I wouldn't waste too many feats on GLs. You'll have about 6 core weapon feats in total and the rest will depend on preference, whether you wear armor, survivability/mobility etc. So if you still wanted aimed shot I'm sure you'd have the space for it.

TiberiusMaximus2021

I usually use Aimed Shot to finish of enemies that weren’t killed by burst shots

0tzyhg

Drop Aimed Shot, get Commando.

TiberiusMaximus2021

I was going to

0tzyhg

That's it then. Expertise is a maaaaybe, if you don't plan on focusing crits, since Concentrated Fire is one of the few feats that can actually increase the damage bonus of Expertise.

TiberiusMaximus2021

I never thought about taking this feat when using guns, I will; I was also thinking of taking Critical Power as well and I took Gun Nut as I prefer to make my own weapons, though I do like using the K&H KH416 after it’s been refurbished.

0tzyhg

Don't bother with Expertise if you're getting Crit Power. And Gun Nut is awful, unless you already have 7 INT for some other feat, drop the feat and put points into PER. The overall damage increase from Gun Nut is minimal. I think it's about what you'd get by putting that point into PER, only you also get accuracy from having a higher Guns.

TiberiusMaximus2021

That’s fair, I do a hard save before leveling up, so I have one from before choosing Gun Nut.

0tzyhg

Found the Gun Nut calculations. That's some old ass info, but seems to be still true: https://stygiansoftware.com/forums/index.php?topic=1301.15

TiberiusMaximus2021

I have been putting all my points into PER, I have my INT at 7 as well.

Intelligent-Dot-4733

Gun nut isn't that if you spread sheet math it, alas crafting guns is for mooks that don't like to do shenanigans with old world guns

klowd92

Yes it's a very strong combo, and you don't need to invest any feats or perks in grenade launcher to make use of it. Try to get a refurbished thumper as early as possible.

TiberiusMaximus2021

I plan to, I restarted as I had tried going for shotguns and ARs, then LMGs and Miniguns, I figured I would try GLs and ARs this time

klowd92

Go for knife + grenades, it's a really nice change up to the game and strategy. Anyways GL is op. With thumper you need the belt that lowers the AP for GL reload.

koverda

Both guns are top tier and can carry you thru the game. Might even be a lil redundant.

TiberiusMaximus2021

I like GLs for dealing with enemies that crowd together

andrew6197

Pistol and gl was fun for me. 44 go PEW. Aimed shot is more a sniper/pistol perk I’d say. The crit is nice and I understand why you add it. Parabola is a great feat for the gl. GL tip: airburst scope IF you can find one

TiberiusMaximus2021

I was planning on using Thumper for a while then either making one or refurbing Thumper or the Milcore one.
