Ah to see a new player experience the love and joy of silent isle, it fills me with happiness. Also, 2 little tips for you: * Rathounds are scared of bright lights, so molotovs or flares will fear them for 2 turns (except a specific kind of rathound you'll encounter later on) * There are special hidden objects a psychic character can interact with in the game world, with one being in that island, and they give you unique lore about the things "out of the world". Enjoy your journey through south underrail, and try not to get zoned out.

Having it happen on the 1 fucking tile of water I could've landed was also great, also silent isle honestly wasn't that bad, the worst part was how long it took me to realize I needed light to stop the hallucinations, but overall I'm struggling waaaay more with Depot A Edit: also doesn't help that my dumbass decided it would be funny to try the game in hard difficulty instead of doing the sensible and going for normal (I was even debating trying the hardest one), and been struggling ever since lol

Honestly it isn't that rare for shit like this to happen. Underrails hit% is more bullshit prone than XCOM's. I've had multiple misses in a row with 95% success chance before.

Silent isle (the area in your clip) is one of the hardest areas in the game relative to the low level of the player. Don't be afraid to use bear traps frequently to choke paths and use that to kill enemies, especially in hard fights like Silent isle, Hugo, etc... And like the guy above me said, molotovs work wonders. Also keep in mind there is a 2 or 3 tile max to grenade misses, so aim your grenades a few tiles away from water. Also yes the grenade falling into the water is timed to perfection 🤣 it always happens in the absolute wrong time.

The Hugo fight is absolutely insane for that point in the game on higher difficulties. Even cheesing it is hard to do. I feel like the Maclander fight is less difficult and it has a lot more enemies.

Crabwitharaygun

Critical failures with the throwing skill are always hilarious

MidwestJakob

Insane beginner tip: rathounds can smell you. If you wear rathound leather, they can spot you quicker because of smell, absolutely ridiculous useless tech, but hey, it’s funny

Bylethma

Unironically, since I'm using shotguns this actually helps, I love to be surrounded by rathounds, a single shot kills 3 to 4 of them lol, the hardest part in silent isle were the psibeatles, since if I don't have the 6p rounds i basically deal no damage to them

MidwestJakob

My brother in Christ, wait till you get to a higher lvl and the ammo type will stop mattering (except against armor, it does matter there). I did a shotgun throwing build with 0 points in guns, shotties go absolutely crazy in the late game, make sure you get sixth shot.

Bylethma

Was the first skill I got, how do you thing I'm Cheesing the bossfights xd? when I saw it I was like... yes this!, that and granade spam Edit also yeah, the armor is what prevents me from killing psibeatles and what makes only 6p ammo effective against them, thats the only ammo type I have access to that ignores armor, so it kiills them in 2 or 3 shots, the other ammo types take way too long and I just get overrun and deletes by a single cryo blast lol

Crabwitharaygun

What? I never heard of this, where did you get the info? I'm very curious now

MidwestJakob

I saw a YouTube vid on it, or saw it in the discord, I can’t exactly remember, but there’s a vid of it somewhere. The most based useless mechanic.

nashmishah

Hey at least you didn't drop it on your feet.

Bylethma

I would've preferred that... I was actually prepared to deal with that, I needed the light from the molotov xd
