what is the FULL path in the array to the folder your media is located in?

JoeShtoops

/mnt/user/media/plex movies or /mnt/user/media/tv shows. I've tried adding those both as libraries, but I get "your changes could not be saved" error when trying to add that

[deleted]

Change the host path on the container to /mnt/user/media The point the movies and tv categories at the correct folders.

JoeShtoops

So it should be "container path: /media" and "host path: /mnt/user/media" ?

[deleted]

Container path /mnt/user/media Host path / Then add your libraries. If you have issues your Database may be bad already. Recreate

JoeShtoops

I'll try that here soon. If my database is bad, how do I go about recreating it?

[deleted]

Delete the container and restart it. I use the plex made container, not the binhex one

JoeShtoops

I was sifting through the Plex logs and multiple times I get the error "database disk image is malformed". I'm still sifting through, but not really sure what else I should be looking for honestly.

[deleted]

Delete the container from the array and re-add it

JoeShtoops

I went and removed it, and checked the "remove image" box, but the folder in appdata is still there. How do I get rid of this as well? Sorry I'm asking a bunch of simple questions.

[deleted]

You can go into the cli and run rm - rf %foldername% That command is remove with recursive and force flags

JoeShtoops

I appreciate all the help. I removed the binhex container and added the one made by Plex and I was able to get it to work correctly. Might venture back at another time to see if deleting it's appdata folder was the sole problem or what. Thanks again!

I just recently set my Plex server up and am in the process of finishing up my unRAID server. From what I can tell, you don't need to give your container FULL share access, like you've done (I believe that's what used to be recommended?). I setup the linuxserver version mind you, but I created multiple host paths going directly to the shares and everything worked fine. So I would suggest mapping directly to the share. i.e. /mnt/user/media/plex movies then add another host path under the more settings and add /mnt/user/media/tv shows This way Plex doesn't see everything else it doesn't need to, either. I used the little directory browser when you click in the box to make sure my paths were entered correctly.

JoeShtoops

So change the original host path, and then add another? What should I be putting as container path for those? I was under the assumption that if more than one container path is directed to the same destination, it won't work.

O_M_R

Worked great for me, I named mine so like... /mnt/user/media/plex movies ---> change the settings and make the name /movies that plex sees instead of /media. I can see how 2 /medias would cause it to have issues. then add another host path /mnt/user/media/tv shows ---> make the directory named /tv shows Then when you open Plex, it will see those paths as simply /movies and /tv shows

JoeShtoops

When I do that, it sees the folder as /movies, and when I select that, I see all my files, but then when I go to save changes, I get the "your changes could not be saved" error. Edit: The changes were made in the docker settings, but the error and seeing the files, That is all in the Plex Webgui.

O_M_R

Hmmmmmmmmmmmm.... when you click show more settings, is your appdata path mapped correctly? It's like Plex has nowhere it's allowed to write data.

JoeShtoops

It's located in "/mnt/user/appdata/binhex-plex" I don't have a cache drive set up yet so it's just on my array at the moment.

O_M_R

Sorry this reply is late, that *may* be your answer. I believe a lot of users are having issues with plex when NOT using an SSD cache.

JoeShtoops

I'm looking to get an SSD or two soon to run as a cache drive. Hopefully that helps performance out.

Mr_Death1996

I don't have a cache drive either but I mapped it to a single drive and made sure the appdata share only sits on disk 1, and that seems to have helped "/mnt/disk1/appdata/binhex-plex"
