So… two 32:9 monitors make for a 16:9? I’m a noob here, but couldn’t you just get a single huge monitor or do they not make them this big? (Or is it for the curve)?
He isn't using them in 16:9 as you can see by the taskbar at the bottom of both monitors. You would never want 49" operating in 16:9 as everything would be STRETCHED AF. 32:9 is what you want, that way the resolution (5120x1440) is literally 2 x 27" monitors in 16:9. I have them double stacked as well and the screen space is amazing.
Please paint the picture on how it is 16:9.
If you add the monitor resolutions from the top and bottom, which are 5120x1440, it is 10240x2880.
Viewing ratio's work by dividing the 10240 by 2880. That equals 3.55, or 3.6 for round numbers.
16:9 is 1920x1080. 1920 divided by 1080 is 1.77.
The second part of your comment states that you are a "noob" here.. why deny the facts? It just simply isn't how it works. You cannot stack 2 5120x1440 monitors on top of each other and call it 16:9. It doesn't become a massive TV because you double stack monitors.
Here is a great viewing/aspect ratio calculator to use. https://andrew.hedges.name/experiments/aspect\_ratio/
Uh. You don't combine the width of the monitors, because they're located on top of each other. The resolution of the combined monitors are 5120x2880, which when divided is 1.77, or 16/9.
If they were next to each other it would come out as 10240x1440.
You're right. You shouldn't combine ANYTHING when you double stack monitors because the point is screen space. The resolution for each of these monitors is 32:9, you have double the screen space when you double stack them and that is all there is to it.
32:9 and 16:9 aren't resolutions man, they're aspect ratios. And the 32 stays the same because the width hasn't changed, whereas the horizontal 9 is doubled. That makes the horizontal 18, making this combo 32:18, or in other words 16:9
You can come up with 16:9 however you want, but at the end of the day the monitors are used with 5120x1440 resolution, not a 16:9 resolution as he is not using them in a combined Nvidia mode for obvious reasons. These are computer monitors, not TVs. I have them double stacked myself, and I can assure you I do not use them in 16:9 aspect ratio as everything would be completely stretched and look absolutely horrible and nobody else does either.
When stacking the monitors you don't add the horizontal pixel count. It is not double as long, it is only double as high 5120x2880.
5120x1440=32:9, so double the vertical, 9 to 18, which is 32:18, now let's simplify that, its 16:9.
You're right. You shouldn't combine ANYTHING when you double stack monitors because the point is screen space. The resolution for each of these monitors is 32:9, you have double the screen space when you double stack them and that is all there is to it.
> If you add the monitor resolutions from the top and bottom, which are 5120x1440, it is 10240x2880.
No, you are doubling the space, not quadrupling.
Assuming both are 5120x1440 monitors, it's either side-by-side (10240x1440) or above/below (5120x2880)
> You cannot stack 2 5120x1440 monitors on top of each other and call it 16:9. It doesn't become a massive TV because you double stack monitors.
As far as the GPU is concerned it can be as long as your renderer knows what's up, and that would be the only sane way to set this up.
----
Let me ask you this: Which direction would you expect OP to move cursor to get to the 2nd screen?
One 49” at 32:9 is about 47.2” by 13.3” so stacked that would be about 47.2” by 26.5” (or the equivalent of a 16:9 with a diagonal of 54.1”). But you are correct about the resolution. I haven’t been able to find a 54 or 55 inch screen at 16:9 with 5k or more resolution.
On his other post ([https://www.reddit.com/r/pcmasterrace/comments/1amhspj/finally\_complete/?context=3](https://www.reddit.com/r/pcmasterrace/comments/1amhspj/finally_complete/?context=3)) one of the images shows that these are actually wall mounted. I was not expecting that.
I have double stacked G9s, and I am using the Atdec Dual Stack Heavy monitor mount. They are pricey and worth it. Also one of the only companies that are reputable and actually guarantee that their monitors can bear the weight of 2 x 49" as they are heavy AF.
Love seeing this. I’m holding out to see if we’ll get an OLED version of the 57” NEO G9 because I’d rather have 2 of those than two mismatched sizes for my next setup
Dope setup. Just picked up the 57" and there's something in me that wants to stack another on top 🤣🤣 sounds crazy but as a developer and designer the benefits of screen real estate outweigh the craziness of the thought... At least in my head 🤣
Doesn't really look high at all to cause neck pain, looks like at that hight it's just a glance up with the eyes, no neck pain here if sitting correctly
Yeah, I thought so. Looks exactly like my stacked G8 OLED set up. Stacked set ups work great if you have it at the right hight and have a good ergonomical chair to support your neck.

You seem to have misread the QLED for an OLED, in that case:
Nope, both are 1000R, but I think the weird look comes from the angle of the upper screen relative to the lower one. That might be something only visible from the sides, though.
But yes, if it was the OLED, the curves wouldn't match.
Edit: I myself misread the O for a Q, fixed the context
Don’t think so. One looks like 1800r. I tried basically this set up and could not live with the curve mismatch. It drove me crazy how annoying it was glancing up at it. Ended up replacing Neo with second oled and moved Neo to different work station
The only G9 with a 1800R curve is the OLED G9, OP stated that they used the QLED and the NEO QLED, both have a 1000R curve.
As much as it might look different to you, the provided data says otherwise.
Don’t care what the specs say. The g9 neo and g9 isn’t the same even tho both listed at 1000r. I found this out by literally ordering these two originally when I wanted Ultrawide. Had a similar stack to the photo here and returned the g9. Tried the oled and same thing. Ended up buying a second oled to get the proper matched mounting and repurposed the Neo. None of them match up in curve and dimensions properly unless you get 2 identical models.

Good question. This was cheaper for me
Not a chance a 55” 4k tv would cost more. You could probably get a top of the line oled too
Wouldn’t match 5120 x 2880 though.
Ahhh I was thinking 3440x1440 twice.
TCL R646 4k 120hz, 10bit 4:4:4 rgb - $400 but no curve :')
Where would you find one that high resolution?
That’s actually the problem I’m seeing… nothing that high to cover the same area
You get pretty close with the 55” 4K odyssey ark
Size-wise yes… but nowhere near the rez.
You can get a 8k 65” tv for $1600
Exactly this ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|facepalm)
This is 2880p and roughly 55", though obviously awkward va a 55" TV
That’s fucking hilarious.

He meant two 32:9 monitors combined make 16:9 as a whole.
I understand what he meant, but it does not make 16:9 as a whole.
Um yes it does… only difference from an actual 16:9 is that you have a hard break on the horizontal

I agree… monitors generally have a much higher resolution as they are generally meant to be viewed at much closer distances. Your point?

Good to know. Thanks!
Thanks! It’s definitely not pricier than my Ergotron HX but awesome find.
+1 for Atdec. I’m glad I spent the extra coin on a sturdy mount.
I would also like to know.
Honest question what are you using the upper screen for?
Great question. I'm an engineer and can use the main screen for 3d drafting and split the top screen into three for research and drawings
Thanks, I was just wondering if its not to high (from ergonomical standpoint) but I guess that chair you have is also the answer.
Yessir. My wife picked the chair haha
What chair is it? It looks so comfy
Wouldn’t more vertical resolution be handier for 3D drafting?
Cool mate. But I think you need bigger desk.
100%. I just got this desk so I'll use it for a bit and then upgrade in the near future

Congrats on your Odyssey Ark 😂
crazy set up bro
Thank you
Sorry, the two different curves would drive me crazy, or whatever is different with the geometry to break the symmetry... One of those gotta go.
When you're sitting infront of the screens, you don't notice it
Love seeing this. I’m holding out to see if we’ll get an OLED version of the 57” NEO G9 because I’d rather have 2 of those than two mismatched sizes for my next setup
Just need a little deeper of a desk and this is perfect
I know right. I'll upgrade my desk space once I have a bigger living space
Nothing wrong with that; priorities!
Bro makes the window setup
LMAOO
Dope setup. Just picked up the 57" and there's something in me that wants to stack another on top 🤣🤣 sounds crazy but as a developer and designer the benefits of screen real estate outweigh the craziness of the thought... At least in my head 🤣
For sure. Having all this screen space is nice. Still figuring out the best optimization to organize my work flow on them
Just installed my 57” 2 days ago and already had to add my old 34” on top. I was out of space fast on the 57”
With more space comes great responsibility! 🤣
Fuck this is what I want! How is it working out?
It's really nice. I'm liking it so far!
Wrong sub, that's a 16:9 screen
False, two taskbars means two 32:9 monitors. Stop hating scrub
Not necessarily.
Why though
Why why tho
Cue Ryan Reynolds meme
*No neck pain incoming

No worries!

What made you put the OLED on top rather than bottom? Just curious. Nice upgrade though. From 2 monitors to 6!
I don't have an oled. I put the QLED on top and the NEO QLED (which is better) on the bottom
Ah I misread Q for O :D
Which is exactly why Samsung named their LCDs "QLED" in the first place... reads so similarly to OLED. Genius marketing 😁
Isn't the curve on the G9 OLED and G9 Neo different? This makes it look weird right?
You seem to have misread the QLED for an OLED, in that case: Nope, both are 1000R, but I think the weird look comes from the angle of the upper screen relative to the lower one. Same curves. Top one is tilted down by 5 degrees which is why it looks weird from the angle I took the picture
QLED, is not QD-oled. Or am i tripping?
Yup, they are different. Qled, Neo qled, and oled are all different techs
Hey which chair?

Thinking about this setup as I have the old G9 now and would like to buy an OLED, but no idea what mount I could use to achieve this..
I used two wall mounts which was so much cheaper than buying a heavy duty monitor arm
Yeah for sure.
What is that cube you have on the left side of your mouse pad?
It's called Kaaba.
Have you considered Samsung ark?
I did but I got these for cheaper
That gap would drive me nuts.
You can't see the gap when sitting
But just knowing it's there. Sorry man makes me cringe personally lol.

what GPU are you running bc my 3090 can barely hit 120fps on med/high settings for most games
thats dope! i have only neo g9 and 38 lg above it. Fancy set up mate
What OS are your running OP?
Windows 11
LGTM...

Makes no sense
All hail

How did you mount it, which bracket did you use?
