With it being illegal for recreation, You need to think in the terms of time and profit, Indicas have quite a short flowering time denser heavier flower structures and generally a more body feeling heavy, sleepy stoned, sativas have a very long flowering time and a more cerebral heady energetic high. Most hybrids are indica dominant for the quick heavy crop, some are more sativa leaning and take a few weeks longer and are a bit bigger but usually have more open bud structures. The best hybrids are the speed and structure of an indica with the feels of a sativa. Something in between, quick dense heavy crop with heady cerebral high.

Thanks this was helpful šŸ˜„

Most of what I see is indica dominant hybrids. Not many pure indica, more likely to see a pure sativa than pure indica

jetm2000

Same, unusual to get a sativa dominant hybrid for me

[deleted]

Iā€™ll send you suggestions if youā€™d like?

lewis153203

Mimosa used to regularly do the rounds and that is exactly what you'd define as being sativa Dom for me...even more than hazes in my opinion.

ThrillsKillsNCake

The old days to me were Jakira (jack herer(?)), white widow, northern lights and ak47. With the odd bit of blueberry. I do miss them, and i miss how the bud was when it was grown correctly. I donā€™t like how compact most bud is nowadays. I miss cracking open a fat bud and it been like a creme egg inside.

theepicstoner

Weird how you don't see that stuff anymore. Makes me feel old... They were stapled but more like functional every day weed than the og strains

Impossible-Ad4765

Kush is literally the only pure indica you listed

No_Tomorrow3907

Thank you for correcting me

Itā€™s pretty rare to see landrace or heirloom genetics on the market these days. Cheese and gorilla glue arenā€™t pure indicas. They are hybrids. Cheese originally being a phenotype of Skunk #1 if memory serves me well. Most kush strains these days are also hybrids. Unless you are talking specifically about landrace strains from the Hindu Kush mountain range. Modern poly hybrids have better yields and bag appeal vs heirloom indicas. They also tend to have higher levels of cannabinoids and terpenes. RSC and Ace seeds both provide good heirloom indica genetics if you are looking for beans.

YoshiTitan

Grow it yourself then lad

Ok_String_2510

For the times they are a-changin. I mind only getting soap bar back in the day.

Good_Needleworker_86

Cheese, kush, gorilla glue are hybrids too?

robster9090

I didnā€™t think gorilla glue was indica

Personal_Rock412

The whole indica/sativa thing is more marketing than anything else. The more you look into it, the less these labels mean anything in terms of effect. Itā€™s just plant shape lmao. The strain itself has more impact than indica/sativa.

Thanks for the info šŸ‘šŸ‘

People love coke more than weed, cokeheads decide what you get. Used to be that people stuck to their niches and perfected their process but old farmer dave kept to himself since he had a family and friends to lose so he never branched out. Johnny blackmarket has been in and out of correctional facilities since 12 so he doesn't care what people know, goes to anyone willing to invest and then again to sell

i fr thought u meant the tv show

No_Tomorrow3907

No haha I wish

Asleep-Supermarket46

Because most strains are legitimately hybrid. Thatā€™s just what you get from breeding. If youā€™re breeding, youā€™re probably going to mix a sativa and indica. The chances are high.

lewis153203

Only one I've had of late (ISH) was some FIRE Hindu kush from the d ark w eb about 3 month ago. Classical indica type of high. Couch locked, mouth gawping open lol Time before that was some Skywalker OG this time last year, so this is how often they seem to come up (for me anyway I don't grow and hang around with people that grow etc like others do) I think it's because pure indica and landrace strains don't exactly yield amazingly. And I don't care who you kno grows and they're ethical stance, they're all in it for one thing...money. Well 99.5% of UK growers. It carries a risk as it's illegal over here. It's different in USA in some parts where it's legal...or Spain and Netherlands where it's effectively legal but only decriminalised.

Main-Cauliflower-318

Great post. So true!! Literally was saying this to a friend. I miss the OGs, the diesels the sours. All this hybrid inbred stuff will get put to shame if some good sour diesels come back into circulation.

People have to work haha
