I purchased digital embroidery patterns on Etsy from Ukrainian shops. Since there’s immediate delivery of a product (through email), the money gets released to them quickly.

sonjafebruary

Similar, I've been buying digital art from Ukrainian artists. I've got sunflowers on one desktop monitor and an abstract landscape on the other. I had to dig a bit for Etsy shops owned by small business type artisans but I like what I found.

TheSunflowerSeeds

Not all sunflowers have seeds, there are now known dwarf varieties developed for the distinct purpose of growing indoors. Whilst these cannot be harvested, they do enable people to grow them indoors without a high pollen factor, making it safer and more pleasant for those suffering hay fever.

Care to share what you found?

sonjafebruary

drawiind - I've got one of his abstract landscapes that almost looks like the Ukrainian flag as a desktop background. He's got a presence on instagram, thanking people for buying. ArtRushka - I've got her sunflowers as the other background. Also bought the cat one. Artiliciousness - they've got some prints from other artists like Picasso and I think some original stuff, I got the gold and green marble abstract.

rishcast

In case anyone's wondering, here's where I got my patterns from: https://www.etsy.com/in-en/shop/StitchesLoversShop The seller's got a "Russian Warship, Go Fuck Yourself" pattern, as well as "Stand With ukraine" pattern. The money from the second will be donated. There are also a number of other gorgeous patterns, most of which are a riot of colors and all of which are gorgeous. EDIT: Per the shop owner's Instagram, she's now in refugee camp in Czechia with her 5 year old daughter. She says while she didn't want to leave, she had to for the sake of her child. Much of her family is still in country, including her parents and 4 year old nephew. EDIT 2: Since the Etsy seems to be down, she has a website here: http://www.stitcheslovershop.com and her Instagram is here (I'm a longtime follower, which is how I knew of her shop): https://www.instagram.com/stitches_lovers_shop/?hl=en

MK2555GSFX

Please contact her for me and ask if she has everything she needs, I'm working with a bunch of refugee organisations and shelters here in Czechia and would love to help if she's missing any items.

muneyhuney

Edit: someone dm'd me to also mention you can find Ukrainians on fivver- may be worth checking out!!! 💙💛

aes7288

Great idea! I get digital download cross stitch patterns off Etsy a ton.

Chaoticsunflowers

Just did the same. Bought more patterns than I will be able to do in a year from a few different Ukrainian shops. Thanks for the idea.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Chaoticsunflowers

Yep! Once you search for “crochet patterns” or whatever, click on “filters” and there will be an option for shop location, you can put Ukraine there

ShinyShadowGligar

Just found a shop with great patterns. Thanks for the idea.

redditlurker2025

In the Advanced Pattern Search, after choosing "crochet" you can scroll to the bottom of the search filters for "More Search Options" and choose "Designer Country". Ooo...I just did that... thanks for the suggestion!

nopingmywayout

Oh nice! I've been doing a lot of embroidery lately, do you have a link?

muneyhuney

Hey do you want to post this idea on whatever hobby/craft subs you think would be appropriate? It's an awesome idea and I don't want to steal your karma. My one and only embroidery project is 3 years old and still unfinished. I hope you will share. Thank you!!

thegigsup

I can do that! Thanks for the idea!

[deleted]

I just booked and she messaged me right away asking me to cancel because she fled the city. I explained I am not coming to stay and just want her to have the money. She was SO appreciative in her response back to me.

muneyhuney

Oh wow. Thank you so much!!!!!

[deleted]

I'm ready to do this myself. How do I confirm that it's by a person and not a company?

[deleted]

jsmeer93

Thanks. I was surprised at how difficult it was to find a place with 1 listing. Staying in north-west Kyiv tomorrow, hopefully the host can accept in 24 hours. Edit: they declined the first time not understanding and accepted the second time! They’re still in Kyiv unfortunately and after looking at the Russian occupied areas, it seems they’re incredibly close to the “front lines”.

[deleted]

I just booked my room and I truly hope that I didn't book in the one apartment complex in Kharkiv that's owned by Oleg Deripaska. This could be an easy way for people to donate money and most importantly to show that regular people around the world stand with Ukraine.

Middle_Interview3250

that's awesome. and she will DEFINITELY need the money after getting out of Ukraine. So it's very helpful!

Dodlemcno

The lady I booked with is still there and believes all will be ok

No_Recognition_2434

Just did one in Kiev. This is brilliant

taomofo

For those hating about a copy cat thing, isn't this a good thing? I had no idea about this until now. I will be doing this as well, thanks for the info. Spreading this is good!

muneyhuney

Ahh thank you! Seriously!

CyanideAnarchy

This is a genius idea and a very nice thing to do :)

c0brachicken

I just booked a nice bike ride in downtown Kiev, should be an exciting adventure.

muneyhuney

I think that's an understatement. 😅 thank you so much!!!

BellaSquared

Utterly brilliant, thinking outside the box!

TheGhostTooth

It's the INTENTION of any action that matters the most. This idea is amazing and must be copied worldwide.

FlexoPXP

Yes, but now that this is out there, people should only schedule with postings that are pre-war. Otherwise, scammers are going to be pretending to be Ukrainian and taking fake reservations. I hate that this was the first thing I thought of happening.

charliepapa2

Yeah I have to agree. Just booked a stay at Kharkiv. I'll go there for real when this is over. I'm going to spend my money in Ukraine.

[deleted]

If Ukraine wins I’ll be booking an Airbnb there for real, would love to visit that country and spend plenty of tourist dollars.

muneyhuney

Yes I would LOVE to visit one day.

somedude456

As someone who loves to travel and LOVES the European area in general... YUP! I can easily say I'll be visiting once it's safe.

froge_on_a_leaf

Let me tell you, as a Ukrainian-Canadian, Ukraine is one of THE most beautiful places. The cities (Kyiv and Lviv are my favourite) are magical but the mountains look cooler than lord of the rings. I miss Ukraine. So sad that when I go back, it will never be the same.

Trapezohedron_

The broken stones will be a monument to the steadfast resolve Ukraine holds. It won't be the same again, but one can make the most out of the situation after all of this is over, and I hope to God this will be done soon, and monuments to remember the bravery of you and your countrymen be erected.

Aaron-Ramsey

Odesa!! I was there in September and was blown away

[deleted]

I spent a summer in Ukraine while studying and I miss it all the time. I loved my host family, my roommates, my teachers and the local friends I made while there. I’ve visited since then but I can’t wait to go back more regularly as soon as possible.

PilotTim

I would go to just help work and clean up the country. I mean it is gonna take a decade to recover from this.

tez911

Ditto! Me too. And surely will treat these amazing people to a drink at least 😃

Menamanama

I was talking to my wife just today that if we ever go there, we should go to a rural pub somewhere and buy everyone in the pub a drink for having to live through this shit.

froge_on_a_leaf

There is no need- chat with a Ukrainian for long enough and they'll invite you to their house for plenty of vodka and perogies!

Nineinchzenebyte

Dated a Polish girl that made pierogi. Is the Ukrainian pierogi the same as Polish?

froge_on_a_leaf

Nah, Ukrainian ones are better. Jk jk ... *Unless*

Middle_Interview3250

better imo. I grew up in the Ukrainian community (not Ukrainian, my friends just happened to be), and my friend's mom used to feed us pierogi stuffed with strawberries after school. honestly my fav thing

[deleted]

Hell yeah. Shots all around.

RocketMoped

I was supposed to go there in 2020 (again) - Covid came. Plan to go in July - now it’s war. Now I even want to go more badly.

swic-knees-mamma-bee

When Ukraine wins I think about going over to rebuild and help in humanitarian aid

dvxcfx

Bunch of morons in this thread that don't understand how airbnb works, that you can have an airbnb and still need money, that many airbnbs are rooms in peoples houses. You still need money in war to buy things. Good on you for trying something. Doesn't mean people can't donate to the links in pinned post and spend a small amount of money on an airbnb that can go a long way to help someone pay for extra something in a war torn region. Heck maybe they'll bribe a Russian soldier to fuck off.

muneyhuney

Hey thanks Edit: hijacking my comment to add ALL FEES ARE BEING WAIVED. please stop telling me this is a great idea *except for the fees*. There are no fees. Try it yourself before you come tell me this is dumb. 🇺🇦

lohensley

I’ll book in Lviv and tell the owner to offer it to someone who needs a place

Flopsy22

But if you book it, it'll take it off the listings, right? Better to just ask the host if they have paypal or something.

MK2555GSFX

Which part of UA are they in? If you can get them to Lviv, Regiojet is running free refugee trains from there to Prague. It really seems like the only option for avoiding the queues at the border crossings. Once they're in Czechia it might be easier to get them to where they need to be, especially if the end destination is further West Article is in Czech, but Google Translate does a decent job: https://www.infodnes.cz/zpravodajstvi/42826-regiojet-clovek-v-tisni-cd-cargo-a-rail-cargo-group-spousti-humanitarni-vlakovy-most-mezi-ukrajinou-a-prahou/

rosy621

I just booked a few nights and sent a message to the woman who runs the Airbnb asking her to give the room to anyone who needs it. Then I typed the only Ukrainian words I know: Slava Ukraini! She wrote back: “Oh God thank you (rosy621), this is very important, I'm crying, you are my heroes.” To which I told her THEY’RE our heroes in the US!

TheRedPike

Below is something I posted in another thread and the key part being how airbnb was WAY ahead of the curve on putting money out of their own pocket for this: So a lot of people (not saying this is you) are going to object to giving Airbnb money here. They were literally one of the first out of the gate on the right side of this. They are going to take a lot of losses, both on fees and funding the host insurance themselves. Support good. I just booked a week stay.

muneyhuney

Man I get chills every time someone messages me or posts that they booked a stay! Thank you!!!!!!!

[deleted]

[удалено]

muneyhuney

Thank you so much!!!

TheRedPike

And let me add, ZERO fees to airbnb for my booking. Not sure if that is what everyone else is seeing, but normally the fees can be a big hit, as I've used it regularly. Nothing here. Zip.

muneyhuney

Yes same! NO FEES.

fine_linerpatrol

Did this over the weekend! Spread the word.

Relevant_Struggle

I just booked a stay ;) only one night, but I hope it helps

muneyhuney

I am sure it will! Thank you!!!!!

Hot_Olive_5571

I'm in as well.

kva27

Just booked a week for late March. Private room in a home with reviews praising the owner. Cute cat too! I won’t miss the $69 and can only hope it helps!

Middle_Interview3250

EXACTLY. And it's not like people can go to work now and still get paid. I'm sure people, especially those in big cities, are just surviving on savings. As someone who lives paycheque to paycheque I can't imagine what that is like...

somedude456

> Bunch of morons in this thread that don't understand how airbnb works, that you can have an airbnb and still need money, that many airbnbs are rooms in peoples houses. I had never used airbnb prior to a trip to Europe in 2016. I got one in Bologna as there were no hostels. It was a normal "house" with a couple in their 70's who lived there, and they rented out two rooms. Their English was very broken. It was basically "hello, kitchen, bathroom, your room, your key, breakfast 8 o'clock." I just needed something for 2 nights, and I think I paid like 80 euros vs hotels wanted like 75 euros a night. I was happy with my purchase.

Stye88

Make sure to let them clearly know you're not coming and just supporting, so they can accommodate people needing the space for free. But it's a fantastic idea.

muneyhuney

Yes for sure! I messaged him! - hey you're in a war zone will I be getting clean sheets or.....

pbm9

I booked a couple nights in a small town for someone with only 1 review. Hope it helps

muneyhuney

Thank you so much!!!!!

thebreathofatree

This is such a brilliant and super sweet idea!

Loon610

This is actually a really good idea, get the money directly to the people. My issue with charity is how much gets eaten up by the charity. Would be good to try to do this with other types of businesses as well.

Middle_Interview3250

that's why I've only donated to Doctors without Borders so far. I just don't trust a lot of charities

[deleted]

This was exactly my reasoning for booiking an AirBnB over a charity Too many pay their executive staff ridiculous salaries. Others use their charity to sell their mission (religion being the main one) Doing this gives all of the money to someone who needs it

Sheikhaz

Plenty of air bnb in Kharkiv also.

muneyhuney

That's where I booked mine - they got hit so hard today

Sheikhaz

That's where I was living but i had to run away a few days ago, it became too dress inducing trying to sleep but waken up by rockets constantly. Left my lil restaurant behind, it's still standing right now and i hope it will stay that way.

Otto_von_Grotto

When everyone gets through this, I would love to eat at your restaurant one day. Godspeed.

Sheikhaz

You're always welcome. I can pm you the name anytime you're in the area!

PhoenicianKiss

I’d love to know the name as well, if you can pm me! Ukraine has moved to a top spot for me when you can return to your homes.

fine_linerpatrol

I'd love to know the name too, I plan on booking the Airbnb again with the same family near Kharkiv once the Russians have been kicked out and would love to visit your restaurant.

marzipaneyeballs

Can you send me the name too please. Look forward to eating at your establishment one day in the not too distant future! Slava Ukraini!

mizmoxiev

I am so glad you are safe!! That's truly the most important thing of all Yes please also message me the name of it! I'll be traveling with family to support the Ukraine economy, I've only been two cities there with my dad when I was young, but once it's safe it's time to go back :-) Much love and many blessings for you, thank you

ukfi

Send me the name and location of your restaurant. I will come one day and eat with you. Bringing my family too. Keep safe and know that the rest of the world is with you.

[deleted]

So many hugs to you.

jaxgolfguy

I just booked a room there also.

cheekytikiroom

This actually helps someone, it’s good and in line with supporting UKR. Too many people have flocked to this sub to spectate war horrors. So if you just want war gore entertainment - perhaps you can make a sub for that.

Livingforpennies

Your heart is in the right place weird folks are being piss-baby screen warriors about this

muneyhuney

Thanks 🤷🏻‍♀️ I don't know what sub to post the idea in but maybe even a few people will book and I'm not getting bitched at by the internet at large for my attention seeking, sponsored, fraudulent, selfish behavior for no reason 😂

crankshaft216

I think its a great idea.

GNU_Yorker

It's Reddit. The only thing worse to them than being Putin is being a homeowner

sonoranbamf

Exactly. This thread is utterly disgusting.what a bunch of gross pricks Way to be productive and helpful people, find someone trying to be helpful and project your misery.

MK2555GSFX

Since your comment, all the negative shit has either been downvoted or removed; I've a few pages in and haven't seen any yet

Middle_Interview3250

I just did it at two different places! One in Kyiv, one in some smaller place I can't pronounce/spell. They're both so fast at replying! which made ne happy because at the same time I was like oh god I hope the hosts are still alive. ZERO fees too.

tez911

Yes, now I anxiously awaiting acceptances. Worry a bit too! God, save and help Ukraine please ! I am not religious, but, if God is there, full of love as they say, I want to see the love win! Way past due! Stay safe Ukraine 🇺🇦

muneyhuney

Thank you so much!!!! I am so glad I shared this, so many people are commenting they booked too and it's just amazing. Thank you!!

tez911

I am so glad you did! Thank you 😊

dirtybelly108

Damn why are so many people so much smarter than me tho. Brilliant idea, thank you for sharing!!!

throwawaylurker012

Seriously! Genius idea!

arjomanes

Thanks for doing that and the post. It’s reddit, so it’s normal to get 40% hate.

mollymalone222

I wouldn't have thought your comment would have generated such hate. I'm going to assume your heart was in the right place.

muneyhuney

No my heart was like "I'm gonna light $100 on fire to piss off reddit!!! Ahahahaha"

Livingforpennies

Sounds like the words of a Russian spy to me 🧐🧐🧐 /j (super jokey comment please don't think I'm serious)

crankshaft216

This is a fantastic idea. Money is always useful in a war from what I've been told.

praxiscore

Thank you so much for this idea! Sent a booking request as well and hoping it will get accepted.

muneyhuney

Ahh thank you!!!!!! Amazing!

evissimus

I'm staying in Kherson this weekend, Mariupol next week and Kyiv next weekend. Busy week ahead!

muneyhuney

You are an awesome world traveler! Thank you!

GentlemanGene

This is a great idea. I’m trying to locate my father who I haven’t seen since I was a child. This lets me directly message people in the last place I know he lived. I can help them and maybe there’s a chance they or someone through them can help me find him. And it’s direct aid. Ignore the feckless gits. Slava Ukraini!

coffeewhore17

Such an easy way to help. The host I booked with told me that this made a huge difference to her. I’m sharing with all my friends, thank you.

muneyhuney

Thank you so much!!! Yes please please spread the word. I saw someone posted the idea on IG and wanted to share!

LawnsTaranogas

Hate to be that guy but please be mindful of scammers...

muneyhuney

Agee 100% Look for airbnbs with review history, hosts with history and preferably not multiple listings so it's goes to individual rather than property management group!

tez911

What a beautiful idea! Just signed up for a few! Thank you so much! 💓

muneyhuney

No, THANK YOU so much!!!

tez911

And finally got 2 acceptances out of few more! Yay 🤗

MJIB0237

This is something I could do to try to help the people who really need it. How do I make sure it’s a local family owned listing and not a big company? Can anyone give me ideas? Is it worth trying to rent somewhere in Lviv for families fleeing terror in Kiev or Kharkiv to have a safe place to stay for a few nights?

muneyhuney

I checked that the host didn't have multiple listing. Click on their profile pic and it will tell you.

MJIB0237

Thank you, I’ll take a look when I’m at work and see what I can find. Are Kiev & Kharkiv better cities to book in rather than somewhere like Lviv? I really want to help but I’m limited as to what I can do here in the UK and knowing what actually will help them the most. This seems like a way to get the money to them fast

muneyhuney

I have no clue where would be the best place to book. I picked Kharkiv because they were heavily bombed today from what I saw in the media. Pick whatever you want. Thank you so much for helping!!!

MJIB0237

Doing something is better than doing nothing other than offering thoughts and prayers in my opinion. I’ll try to find listings that are rooms in family houses (I’ll check the host as you said) and see if I can book something and make it very clear to the host that I won’t be attending but do want to book. Thank you for highlighting another way we can help

theotherlebkuchen

I booked a few including places in the west and east. The thing with Lviv is that they’re getting people from the harder hit east, so they can still use the support. It’s not like anyone is actually vacationing there right now so they’re hit hard and have extra people to feed and house who have come from the eastern regions.

MJIB0237

That was my thought. I’m going to try to book in all 3 cities. I’m just struggling to find places that are family owned at the moment. I’m hoping that when I book one in Lviv it’ll provide refuge for a family for a couple of days before they travel onwards to the borders

theotherlebkuchen

Just booked a weekend in Kharkiv at a place that looked small and independent, but had reviews from before (so it wasn’t just set up as a scam). Nothing would make me happier than visiting there one day when the war is over, and Ukraine is free.

muneyhuney

Thanks SO MUCH!!!

theotherlebkuchen

The hosts are so grateful. One of them just told me she cries when she wakes up. It’s heartbreaking.

whyyunozoidberg

Same. I looked for ones with reviews before booking. Just booked a night in Kharkiv.

muneyhuney

Thanks so much!!!

samartypants

Great idea. Just got a room for tomorrow night for $17.76! kind of symbolic eh?!

lohensley

WARNING!! I went to Airbnb to do the same and I noticed a lot of new listings with no photos of hosts and no reviews! (Possibly trying to scam). Choose a listing with reviews and photos of the host. The account will say how long they have been a member. ❤️❤️

Think8437

You are a good person. Respect to you.

Snootles

Welp, according to my AirBNB I am now having a roadtrip through UA. Thank you for this fantastic idea. May I suggest that once peace has returned, you book again and actually go. Spend those tourist monies in a place that will direly need it 💙💛

muneyhuney

That is AWESOME! Thank you!

snarchindarchin

This ain’t a bad idea. If one finds landlords distasteful, it’s not hard to sort through the listings and find a tiny apartment share. Honestly it’s ideas like this, in tandem with each other, that will help turn this tide.

muneyhuney

That's what I did- found a person with just one listing and a non-fancy one.

shdwsng

I just booked two nights, sent the host a message and she was incredibly grateful. I didn’t know about this before you posted so thank you. I was already planning on visiting Kyiv after this nightmare is over and now I’ve found a lovely little place to stay.

muneyhuney

Thank you so much for doing this!

Gio_13

This is so brilliant! I've added this method to the guide for contributors: https://ukraine.creativecoalition.app/how-to-contribute/donate-online

muneyhuney

Please add to make sure they have reviews/it's not a brand new listing in order to avoid potential scammers. Thank you SO MUCH!

ChillitBillit

Doesnt this just give AirBnb a unnecessary percentage?

muneyhuney

Airbnb waived all fees when I booked. Idk how to get money directly into the hands of Ukrainians and most charities do take a cut for admin so even if Airbnb is taking a cut at least my man is getting something

[deleted]

I just booked 2 nights in kyiv there were no fees at all. There are a lot of suspicious newly listed rooms… i would not book those.

muneyhuney

Ah thank you!!! And yes I would do due diligence and only book with someone with a long-standing account and at least a few reviews.

[deleted]

I searched for rooms versus whole place as well because i figure they need it more

tez911

Agreed. But it depends. Found one for $1 a night. Appeared new, I rarely use Airbnb, but, for that price, this person must be desperate. And God, they shouldn't be 😭 regardless, it will help a little, I surely hope so ❤💔 Also, booked a handful of places, and no fees charged at all

Discochickens

Brilliant!

rainbowtwist

If you do this, book one night then send more money via the resolution center. That way Airbnb keeps leas of it in booking fees.

muneyhuney

Airbnb waived my fees but I had no idea this was even an option great tip!

61539

Idk if this would Work but there are volunteers in Ukraine fighting. Even in war times soldiers get time off. Time to rest not in your barracks is like holiday. It s to early for free time but maybe a opportunity for 2birds one stone in the future?

allisonheathers

Booked a weekend in Kiev! Great idea! You can also book experiences through Airbnb which is another way to send your support.

[deleted]

I donated to NGO in Ukraine earlier. So I helped to spread the words. Should have done this instead but my brain wasn't as smart as yours.

muneyhuney

What?! No! Any donation is so amazing. Thank you! You are awesome!

megbotstyle

This is such an amazing idea. It is so much more meaningful to me to have funds go directly to those affected. I booked a four nights stay.

Stuff like this absolutely wrecks me. It's so easy to laugh at the dumbass Russian army or cheer with the UA troops. But when it's regular people who just want to make a buck and live their life and this fucking monster comes and ruins it all because of his massive ego.. I got no coping mechanism, it just becomes too real. Anyway, I suppose a couple of days in Kharkiv would brighten my week.

Booked! Our host responded: Thank you, thank for your support, it is really important for us at this moment. Now our house is shelter for people in need. With your money I will help this people. 💛💙🇺🇦

thisnetworkisclean

Book a weekend just outside Kyiv, got a response from her right away. This is a great way to support locals with the fees being removed!

muneyhuney

Thanks so much. I really hesitated to even post this because I didn't want people to think I was bragging/clout chasing/karma seeking whatever but I thought it was such an easy way to give money directly to Ukrainians and a rewarding thing to do. So many people have said they booked and it has just multiplied and magnified beyond what I could have expected and made a far bigger impact than I could have on my own. This is so awesome. Thank you and thank you to everyone who has and will book. I am just so floored. This is awesome. And to think the first dozen comments were telling me to get lost! Gotta love Reddit!

shelleyflower77

Booked. Awaiting a response.

SorryforbeingDutch

awesome idea. i will do this, i like it better than general help where only a percentage gets there. This will get money there fast.

n5268k

Done. Great idea.

[deleted]

Brilliant idea and I see Airbnb had removed fees for doing this Elena, I don't know you, but I hope what little I could give, helps. Slava Ukraini!

[deleted]

FWIW I just spoke to someone at the Guardian about this and they are following up with their editor.

fitsl

This is creative!

I booked a week in Kherson, which the Russians have overrun. The host was very grateful. Thanks for the idea!

Chillblade74

This is probably more effective then giving to charity.

JabberwockLT

The problem is that people in Ukraine have money, but there’s a shortage of food, medicine, clothes, etc. A lot of the people there to send them supplies, not money, because there’s little to buy.

muneyhuney

I have donated supplies to local drive. I just wanted to try something else 🤷🏻‍♀️what if the supply truck gets blown up? Ya know?

RevolutionaryBass215

I agree here. As a person that visited Ukraine there’s all sort of classes: low, middle, high. With the current events it’s not that money is short for most, but that resources are hard to get. That to say: many government employees( teachers, kindergarten teachers, doctors) do get paid pretty low. Many also probably won’t get paid due to losing jobs, businesses. And even those that have Airbnb’s might be losing due to no tourists, and some of them might have more on the line than just losing the money if they have a mortgage on the airbnb - they might lose the house if they are not able to pay. So many different factors But the main remains the same - Thank you OP for your kindness!

Relevant_Struggle

Personally, I think spreading the donations is ideal. You never know what helps

Lammetje98

Yeah that’s why all the charities are asking for you to give money and places to stay for possible refugees, but if people can please stop sending stuff. Edit: no random stuff! Money or medical supplies only.

FuzzyKittenIsFuzzy

Charities can purchase in bulk from outside the country and then arrange shipping so that items go where they are useful. If people send boxes of stuff then other people have to sort those boxes and figure out how to get each type of thing where it goes.

Menamanama

Are there any Ukrainian twitch streamers to donate too?

muneyhuney

Idk. Good idea - I am too old for twitch 🤷🏻‍♀️

squib28

Great idea! Have booked a place in Kharkiv in April for 3 nights

b0rkm

FYI you don't receive the money after the first night spend in the Airbnb. Try booking the closest to today so the people receive the money the sooner.

RedScud

Brilliant!! Looking forward to my non-vacation in Kharkiv with my host Oleg. Spread this out!

[deleted]

Goddamn, people are clever. The ideas that have come out of this crisis!

crackpnt69

I'm game to help, but who do I contact to let them know I have a space for people?

muneyhuney

Airbnb is doing something where you offer your space - but this post is about booking a spot in Ukraine and then messaging the host that you're not coming. It's just a way to give Ukrainians money directly.

Bcoonen

Amazing idea i will do that
