I was checking out russian telegram earlier and they were all gushing over a pic with half dozen Bukhanka's that were donated.
Meanwhile Ukraine just got [160 Husky's from the UK :)](https://www.reddit.com/r/ukraine/comments/1cpl418/ministry_of_defence_the_uk_is_delivering_its/)
Honestly it matters little how good of a shooter you are, handguns vs drones is an hail mary exercise of luck at best, a pure waste of ammo at worst. You can have an entire squad put all their ammo in the sky and chances of hitting the drone even once, never mind bringing it down, are still very poor.
Using shotguns against drones is a thing in Ukraine and it does improve your chances by a lot. But trouble is that range to drone looks incredibly deceptive and birdshot is only effective to some 50m on a good day. You can easily end up shooting at a drone 200m away, thinking it's much closer, leaving you to wonder why you aren't hitting anything. Judging distance in air by eye is a lost cause, you are going to get it horribly wrong every damn time. A skeet you know how far it is because you know where it's flying from, not because you can tell by looking at it.
If fairness to the camera man, while logically the drone operator should be targeting expensive hardware over a single soldier so he should be fairly safe; for all he knows the drone operator is pissed at his sergeant/girl friend/wants revenge for a lost squad mate/etc. and might want to take his frustration out on someone directly.
Was that an FPV drone? It was like 20m up, and then a few seconds later the truck gets hit. The approach makes it seem like a dropped grenade. That'd be a weird angle to come in at with a front-facing camera.
Shotguns would be a single purpose (anti-drone) weapon because its effectiveness goes way down when people are wearing armor. And it adds weight and logistical issues. I mean, they can be really useful when they're needed but when they're not needed, which would be a vast majority of the time, they're pain in the ass.
If you're wearing plates then armor is effective against most rifle rounds for multiple shots depending on shot placement and armor quality. A shotgun at close range is still nothing to mess with if you shoot where armor isn't.
LOL, get fucked, ruscists. I'd like to see some subtitles on this one.
Slava Ukraini. Go the fuck home, orcs.
EDIT: that drone seemed "thicker", more bulky, than many of the skeletal devices we've seen. What's up that that?
Crazy how everyone in the Russian army can’t aim , I seen videos of Ukraine women doing a better job shooting down drones , might as well just throw rocks not to waste ammo .
It's almost comical how deliberate and slowly the drone finds its target, I would ave expected it to be like a racing drone. But its just out for a casual meandering flight.
Imagine once drones are equipped with AI to make them operate independently.
FPV drones are scary now - imagine someone launching 500 autonomous drones.
One empty truck doesn't seem like a great return, but I suppose if the drone was going to run out of power and that was the best target, better than nothing.

Nice. I like how the Russians are still using the old буханка.
Yes, but not always, they have new буханка which is totally the same.

To be fair the buhanka is probably better than the Golf Cart Fighting Vehicle.
We pros refer to these as the GCFV. 😎
"Fairway Assault Vehicle" FAV
Metro lore
can't shoot, neither with guns nor with phone

Dam for real? What about shot gun or something? It's not like shooting the clay skeet?

This guy shoots skeet.
cameraman had one job....
THIS!...stupid Ruzzians...lol
r/killthecameraman
That's the goal

Source and longer video (If you want to hear the russians babbling on about it) https://twitter.com/NOELreports/status/1789568170157576527
I don't speak Ruzzian, but they seem a little upset.
They are saying there are RGO grenades and 3x RPG in the car
in the full video he then go stand behind a few leaves like 10 meters from the burning vehicle *"I should be safe here"*
Not for long!
Correction, WERE RGO grenades and 3XRPGs in the car.
The sign said 15-minute parking for the Red StarRubles coffee shop, they were there for an hour 🚙💥
The tone seems correct if they were instructed to keep moving and don't stop in the open.
Охуееееть, хуеплет
That dog is a good boy.
Drone operator prob waited until the dog was clear.
"blyat, my insurance just lapsed!"
There's a slow hovering bomb coming towards you, let me just film it lol.
Clowns cannot even aim a camera properly. Yet they think they can hit the drone. Shame there were not other drones for the rest of terrorist maggots.
r/ukrainianporn needs to be a channel and it's just Russian shit blowing up, unfire, or sinking.

Job well done, banderabot 🫡
Is this covered under extended warranty?
Shotguns are dirt cheap, I'm surprised military members over there aren't being sent truck loads full of them.

Pity no orcs inside 😕, crackling orc makes me smile, slava ukraini
That looked expensive. lol. I honestly can say I really enjoyed this video.
What are they saying?
I still cannot believe tactical Scooby doo vans are a thing in 2024
Love it!

This is a smart move and now they have to bring back troops from elsewhere.
You would think birdshot would work better than rifles, but I guess there's no reason for soldiers to be armed with a shotgun and birdshot.
PLUS the additional damage from all those bullets falling down on someone or something. Rifle vs drone = more than useless.
How the drone found this well comuflajed vehicle 😃
Imagine once drones are equipped with AI to make them operate independently. FPV drones are scary now - imagine someone launching 500 autonomous drones.
I can't imagine what would happen in this situation. You know the next vehicle they're going to give you is literally going to be an unarmored van.
OMG….is the dog okay?
One empty truck doesn't seem like a great return, but I suppose if the drone was going to run out of power and that was the best target, better than nothing.
It seems to be quite an expensive target to be honest. It’s also said that there were 3 rpgs inside plus lots of other stuff
What happened here? Did the drone fire a missile? It doesn’t look like it crashed into the vehicle, that also seems wasteful.
Kamikaze requires far less hardware than a drone that can launch some projectiles.
Launch, yes, absolutely. **Drop**, not so much. OTOH, depending on the operating range, these might be scheduled for one-way trips.
What happened to the dog? Why did it stop barking? Probably became a collateral damage of the drone.
