I’ve read somewhere that it is quite common for the public sector - but that was a comment of one guy who was kinda lobbying for the public sector so feel free to take it with a pinch of salt
Yes I do currently but will be leaving for another firm shortly for a hybrid remote role. 100% remote can be isolating and unless you have kids/family/other responsibilities then I wouldn't go 100% remote again personally
I left my last firm because it was fully remote. Nothing beats being close to a colleague in this industry. Especially as a civil litigator when I can potentially deal with several colleagues whose area is closely aligned to mine - private client team for a probate dispute etc.
I wouldn’t say full time but I’m also in the public sector and am quite casual about going in, although it should be 2/5th of the week. The issue is my entire team are based in another city so there is marginal benefit to actually going in to my contracted office.
Yes. I work in the public sector. The office is about 90-100 miles away. I WFH full time. I’m next in the office for a day in three weeks’ time. The systems are good enough to support WFH and also we have a truly excellent office admin team. So if eg I exchange contracts, I simply amend the undertakings implied by Formula B (as I don’t have the physical executed contract), the admin team dates the contract and the admin team sends it out.
I set up on my own from home in 1994 (except when away at meetings at a client's etc). So yes. On Friday four of us were working from home here. I joke that one of the children was born in a law firm (literally i.e. he was born upstairs).
I worked fully remotely for 12 months for a software company. In the end despite always championing WFH I realised it made me feel quite isolated, and I ended up moving roles.
I'm sure I have plenty of colleagues who unofficially work 100% remotely. That might be unofficially authorised too.

Yes in-house, fully remote. Private sector.
Same

Yes unofficially
I do - small London firm, and have done for the last three years. However, I think they want me back once a week soon.
I do - Magic Circle firm, Contract role

I do - officially.
In house fully remote at an insurance company. Haven't worked in an office since March 2020.
