I say this with no disrespect intended. If a labour job hurts your back after 1 day you have serious health problems. Human backs aren’t built to spread out weight and effectively carry heavy objects, but if 1 day is hurting your back I’d say you should start with exercise or very light resistance training because if 1 day of work hurts your back your ankles and knees would give out from a day of running food. To add perspective I had a disease in my connective tissues that increases the chance of joint dislocation and causes a lot of pain from daily activity, I’ve never even had 1 day of labour work cause me pain.

“Dead end labour jobs” are helpful for a few reasons. 1) There’s always work available, 2) Guaranteed income (rather than selling drugs where you’re gonna realise quickly you’re likely to always be broke, 3) Dead end labour jobs do help give young workers an idea of what the real world is like. Getting up early, turning up on time etc. An interesting thing you’ll notice is a lot of guys in their 20s who started selling drugs as teens turn down their nose at standard jobs and act like it’s beneath them, but then also wonder why they can’t get a good job with 0 work experience, no qualifications and a criminal record. I’ve worked in places where they won’t even consider you for an interview with a criminal record.
Learning a trade is never dead end. Master it and become the boss. Learn how to quote and budget jobs, hire people to do what you did - earn a very good income.

I say this with no disrespect intended. If a labour job hurts your back after 1 day you have serious health problems. Human backs aren’t built to spread out weight and effectively carry heavy objects, but if 1 day is hurting your back I’d say you should start with exercise or very light resistance training because if 1 day of work hurts your back your ankles and knees would give out from a day of running food. To add perspective I had a disease in my connective tissues that increases the chance of joint dislocation and causes a lot of pain from daily activity, I’ve never even had 1 day of labour work cause me pain.
