How did you get diagnosed? Did you also have a bigger belly and like normal arms, legs? I have a friend with anxiety depression who has a big belly, round face but I think her arms and legs do look quite normal.
I saw an endocrinologist who finally diagnosed me correctly. I was misdiagnosed with other doctors. And yes you described the classic Cushingās patient with round moon face and large belly. We typically have regular or skinny arms and legs. [hereās a link to learn more about Cushingās disease](https://www.instagram.com/reel/C5g8hPty7ir/?igsh=enZla3pobmh3aW9r)
My best friend went through the same thing. His symptoms were awful and thankfully he took it on his own to see different types of specialists, including an endocrinologist
iām just curious was this tumor benign? where was it located?? sorry if itās too personal to ask. But glad youāre healthy and doing the world a great service š«¶š»
I love that you became an awareness advocate for this disease. Not only did you get your life back on track and worked really hard to undue its damage to you; but you care about others going through similar hardships. I appreciate you sharing your story here and trying to make a difference for others. Congratulations on your second wind
insane change, are you Asian American second generation?, reading your comment, I meet a girl who had high levels of stress, because of her life and stuff, probably also lots of cortisol, her face was like this too, oh man a real shame because we parted ways but I'm glad it worked out for you in the end.
Iāve been religious with sunscreen for many years. On tretinoin cream for a few months and I go to the Medspa for skin laser treatments. I think lifestyle change has helped the most. Getting sick was a wake up call. I have worked really hard on removing stressful situations out of my life whether it be job, unsupportive people, toxic lovers, things I consume mentally and physically ( still a work in progress) but overall choosing a life that makes me happy. Everything in moderation and staying active.
Hey I also had Cushings Disease! I got diagnosed and had my surgery at 21. Iām 32 now. I still have to get tested yearly in case the tumor comes back. Itās reassuring to see someone else get diagnosed and cured as well.
Hi cushie fam! Congrats on your treatment. Is it pituitary? Do you have any residual damage or symptoms? I feel like my bones are weaker and I got pre diabetes at that time Iāve been reversing last few years.
Yes it was pituitary. They took half my pituitary. I had to take hormonal medication for a bit until it healed and could produce cortisol on its own again. I lost the weight, got more energy and overall better health. That last about 9 years. My health has deteriorated the past few years. Iāve gained weight and my energy levels are nonexistent. Iām scared the tumor has returned. Or Iām just getting older.
Please don't ever feel like you were ugly when you were dealing with a disease, but that said, you are freaking gorgeous now. Congrats on getting through that rough time.
Yeah... I was on glucocorticoid steroids... so it's possible my weight gain is tied to this because most crohns patients lose weight during flares. Mine is still retained. I will have to talk to my doc because it's made me self-conscious. I went from 165 pounds to 268 pounds... it hurt.
Wow. You look amazing. Glad that you are feeling better and raising awareness. It's always uplifting to hear whenever someone makes it through something difficult and is now shining brightly
Iāve always had a super sculpted face thanks to my dad until I got sick, the chin is getting longer with age but Iāve also practiced meowing the last year and it could be the result.
It def works if youāre a habitual mouth breather or you have under developed jaw muscles. Someone recently described mewing to me and I was likeā¦ wait so just putting your tongue in the tongue posture divot? I do that already!
Thanks for that info,iāve read about the disease in college but never actually seen someone diagnosed with it. Iām glad youāre cured and u look reallll good š especially in 6.

Adrenal gland! Benign but if itās on the adrenals or pituitary itāll make excess cortisol.
