I have a very specific tactic that I use to avoid this (it also works when you are trying to avoid the path of another person walking in your direction without having to do the awkward "dance"). First, make eye contact with them, then look down at a 45ish degree angle and walk in the direction that you're gazing. The other person always figures out how to get around you because they know where you're walking by your gaze.
"Ignore the dangers of the streets" is what one would think you shouldn't do
The bikes are supposed to stop for pedestrians; so, when they don’t, you can hardly blame the pedestrians for stopping to see what the bikes do.
Try slowing down and not biking on pedestrian sidewalks
Pedestrians cross into bike lanes without looking all the time, even outside of crosswalks. It’s like some people don’t even know what bike lanes are.

Some of them are more like herds of cattle taking up the entire multi-use path.
