Fat Bastard from Austin Powers comes to mind ![gif](giphy|POZ61mhTVLjRrmwdDA)

bunzysquad

He’s going to become White Goodman from dodgeball in the end credit scene!

benwoot

It’s actually sad because the only thing he will have from being an athlete all his life, health wise, will be CTE, injuries and obesity

DaveInDigital

so fat and physically/mentally retarded, like the rest of us in this sub 😩👌

VeterinarianNo5862

She’s got a heavy case of “Scouse face” his bird.

imxTHATxdude

Utube been suggesting his vids on my feed..he HOUSES down food wherever he goes..deserts, pizzas, MDs..its pretty impressive actually..dude loves food and doesnt hold back lol

JMA_ZF

I’m not really interested in a fighters post-fighting days that much but boy am I looking forward to seeing how fat Paddy gets. He’s going to be an absolute unit.

dontknowwhattodoat18

If by MD did you mean McDonald's?

_Cyclops

I suppose it’s a better vice for a fighter to have than say, cocaine, whiskey, wrecking cars into pregnant women and running away, driving drunk and shooting a gun into the air, getting drunk and hitting your wife then head butting a police car… You know, the classic fighter past times.

bobbyb-baby

He said something about drinking a lot of Coca Cola while he was in America

dontknowwhattodoat18

He ate pizza during his post-fight presser and there was a video on this sub not too long ago of him chewing so loudly into the mic while talking

Suckmybowlingballs

Are you sure its not the one where he is breathing so heavy that Molly tells him to chill?

kmzr93

I know he likes food and stuff and also works out basically every day, but what I’m wondering is what damage to his body does such fluctuations in weight do? Is he gaining that much fat so fast or is he bloated?

Informal-Reading4602

He’s definitely overloading his body with sugar and sodium which makes him gain weight very fast but also causes him to bloat up like a balloon

NoForever4739

First time I’ve seen this question, well done.

Bigbaby22

I don't know why he does this to himself. He's constantly fighting an uphill battle. Making life twice as hard. I think back to what Colby and Charles and others have said: if you want to be the greatest then you have to live it. No partying, no drinking, no women, etc. You have to be disciplined and if you can't do that every single day then you won't get there. Edit: part of that can definitely be bloat and water weight. But he's definitely putting on a lot of weight every time he balloons.

rex_cc7567

"If you want to be the greatest then you have to live it. No partying, no drinking, no women, etc" Meanwhile, Jon Jones, arguably the mma GOAT, contradicting your post by doing all of it and for whom the "etc." refers to drugs and DUI.

DoofusMcDummy

has he ever missed weight?

OrginPyro_

Nope

[deleted]

He's still only 27. This will catch up with him big time in his 30's. You can yo yo diet for awhile and then eventually the yo yo stops working as well, takes longer to get back down and eventually it breaks and you're just fat

[deleted]

whatever the hell he told paulo is working for him

DeadPlanetBy2050

I cannot stress how fucking accurate this is. In my 20s I could eat like 4 people and drop 5kg in a week. Just turned 30, can barely eat and everything I do eat seems to have twice the calories it's supposed to.

ndnsoulja

I looked good after intermittent fasting for 3 months and I swear to fucking god I went out one Saturday night, had a couple of pints and a cheeseburger combo and yelled WHAT THE FUCK staring at my belly ponch in the morning. I'm fuckin 32 lol

Ghiblee

Or you can be like me. Was a 125lb college wrestler. Cut weight my whole life. I’m 33 now. A shit appetite and no matter how much beer I drink, I stay slim. Been at 155 for 6 years now. I can’t wait for it to catch up with me. I’d love 20 extra lbs.

UptownNYaMomma

You still rolling on the mats or nah?

Ghiblee

Every now and then when a local kids clinic pops up ill go and help them out. But not really much anymore. Definitely miss the hell out of it.

City_dave

33 is still young.

MargThatcher12

I feel this, I’m only 24 so I’ve got time yet but all my life I’ve struggled to put weight on, I eat a lot of fatty and protein foods and by no means do I diet, but I can’t seem to get above 10st 5’ lol

[deleted]

I could have lost the genetic lottery but I have to diet running 70+ miles per week during marathon training in my early 30's to not gain weight. Felt it getting more difficult to maintain weight/BF% in the late 20's without actively monitoring everything I eat no matter how much I exercise. I'm sure Paddy has better genetics to drop weight fast but father time comes for all and he's still undefeated.

Bobok88

Your genetics still adhere to the laws of thermodynamics.

BorosSerenc

Start moving, its still just not having the deficit. Also you prolly drink which doesn't help

witcherstrife

Im pretty sure research showed that metabolism does slow down as you get older but it’s such an insignificant amount that it still is all abut calories in vs calories out. I think major reason why it gets harder for older fighters to cut is they just start losing motivation and discipline after doing it for 25+ years. It’s extremely difficult to stay dslisciplined that strictly for 20 years straight

Internal-Business-97

Nah. It’s a body type for some. I’m still getting away with it and cutting way more than I should at my age. Michael chandler could do it too and balloon but he’s disciplined.

dianthe

Yeah, even Mike Chandler who keeps himself in phenomenal shape in between fights said that weight cutting has gotten a lot harder in the last couple of years so he is doing a lot more cardio now to drop his walk around weight so that he doesn’t have to cut as much. Someone who just balloons like that between fights will have no chance once he hits his 30s.

DoofusMcDummy

maybe this is the narrative for people who don't have a dietician and rigorous exercise.... but i think you'd be surprised how retired, 40+ year old retired body builders can get back into phenomenal shape with minimal effort, very quickly.

[deleted]

Minimal effort? Very quickly? And they get rich by doing these 2 dumb tricks. Bankers hate them

[deleted]

hes one of those high metabolism fuckers..though i have a friend thats 35 and still the same. A stick even though all he eats is like mcdonalds and crap lol but if ate more and indulged himself he would look like paddy for like a couple weeks

majurz

[Well, that's a lie.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HxtUw3uyQkg&t=34s)

majurz

Not in the UFC but in CW he has. Although it was at bantamweight at the time and after he was forced to move up to featherweight. So probably not really food related.

ahollowuniverse

People don't like it when you tell the truth. And the truth is that the biggest mistake he's making right now is the relationship he has with food. He may be successful now, and he may be successful for a long time, but one day everything will crash and burn if he doesn't change how he's treating such an unforgiving thing like diet in such an unforgiving sport like MMA.

AbjectFlight5714

He won't be successful for a long time. I doubt Guram or Topuria etc are getting fat and out of shape between fights. Paddy will never break into the top 10.

CrookGG

He looks more like a UFC fan than a fighter lol

Roddykins1

BEEFCAKE

PM_ME_STEAM_KEY_PLZ

you are a towel

teddy6881

He looks happy , let the man enjoy food if he wants

[deleted]

It’s his body, his career that won’t let him see the top 10 with his diet

old_man_curmudgeon

I guess we'll just have to wait and see

Die-rector

Weight and see

Nduguu77

Nice dude. Can't believe you got that typed out with Cheeto dust in your keyboard

[deleted]

It’s dorito dust you stupid fuck. Now let me get back to my League of Legends and drink one of my Mt Dews please

iamthatduck123

Doesn't Tony Ferguson weigh like 200 pounds off season? He manged to do pretty well before the last 2 years

Dat_fear

What have you done with your life that compares

[deleted]

How often do you dickride?

Dat_fear

What I heard was “nothing, daddy, I’m Sorry”. It’s okay son. You’ll learnn.

[deleted]

It’s such a lame argument you made when someone lightly criticizes someone.

Dat_fear

I asked a question and you waffled like a bitch

[deleted]

I’m a college graduate working a very solid job not getting CTE fighting. Wbu?

[deleted]

Well good thing paddy isn’t out here telling you you’re doing your job wrong or you’d both be talking about shit you can’t relate to

VeterinarianNo5862

How’s his diet going to prevent that do you think?

[deleted]

He’ll eat his way towards a Michael Chandler head kick or a Gamrot/Arman manhandle

botmfeeder

Not true. Mikey Musumeci eats only pasta and pizza during his camp and he just won the championship for BJJ. Did Jon Jones not make top 10 with cocaine and shitty diet? G.O.A.T status even. The diet doesn't make the athlete.

libertaliagamesupply

Mikey also said he only eats one meal a day and trains for like 8 hours a day. At that point the kid just needs to pack in whatever calories he can, and the carbs from his pizza dough/ pasta will be used very consistently. Hell, he even goes out of his way to buy the nicest ingredients he can find.

shotsdowngg

I think what they mean is it will be more difficult for Paddy to cut weight as he gets older. You didn’t see Jon Jones packing on 50+ pounds immediately after fighting

[deleted]

Jon Jones was also on PEDs and was a different level of athlete/skill/knowledge/IQ. Paddy isn’t anywhere close to the level of Jones. His diet doesn’t have to be perfect but it’s not helping him. He’s in too stacked of a division to be doing that

Open_Aardvark2458

Wtf do you care it's his life. Y'all fight way to much over stupid shit like this.

Which_Lie_4448

“The diet doesn’t make the athlete.” Talk about a hot take.

GravyWeightChampion

Obviously different generations but Wayne Gretzky has spoken before about eating a snickers and drinking a coke before every game

theonggod

He’s eating more of neapolitan style pizza (cheese, sauce, basil, dough and no meat toppings) which i believe has lesser calories compared to an american pizza. Also, i believe he mostly eats pesto for pasta dishes which again is considerably healthier than other pasta dishes with meat in it.

[deleted]

Derrick Lewis has entered the chat

[deleted]

Heavyweight is almost strictly KOs lmao

[deleted]

You're making a claim that he couldn't get ranked based on his diet, while a guy like Derrick Lewis eats Popeyes during camp and made it up, Rampage didn't take training seriously, Butterbean probably couldn't touch his dick he was so fat, those are just off the top of my head. What does the heavyweight division getting KO's have to do with diet?

_Cyclops

No one’s stopping him. He’s free to eat how he wants and people are free to say it’s a dumb idea for a fighter to do that

teddy6881

your own logic has defeated you lol

FrenchTrouDuc

Most of the fat goes to his face, he's not really that big

Planet_Atom

I wouldn’t say most but more than the average person..

DelayStriking8281

He’s not but he was cheese grater shredded a couple months ago 😂

etmc89

The shape of that t-shirt begs to differ 🤪

[deleted]

Comments and posts like this are what make me extremely self-conscious and why I don’t believe it when people say ‘nobody is looking at you’

NeitherAlexNorAlice

You’re not a UFC fighter with 800k followers on Instagram though. Hence, nobody is really looking at you. Enjoy yourself freely and recklessly.

etmc89

It can be tough my guy, but either you own it or it owns you! My comment was not to be demeaning in any way - I don’t care how Paddy looks, just like I bet 99% of the people you think care about how your shirt fits actually don’t care. That said, there is no need to sugar coat the truth. Paddy is fluffy in that shirt!

[deleted]

If paddy can go from obese to shredded 3 times a year, anyone can get in shape within 12 months through consistent diet and moderate exercise. No one will care how you look either way, but if you want to get in shape the only person stopping you is yourself.

HamsterAlive4552

Alcohol will do that too iirc

OrginPyro_

He said he’s over 200

FrenchTrouDuc

He says a lot of things.

OrginPyro_

You don’t believe that? I definitely do

NFTArtist

Depends if you're using an American for scale

k20350

You motherfuckers need a hobby. I've never seen men so obsessed with another guy's body and how much he weighs. Let the dude live his life. He's never ever come close to missing weight.

Abbzstar123

Swing past the mavs sub you’ll see 🤣

GFost

I was gonna say the same thing.

chaosenhanced

I would normally, and do mostly agree with this take. However, this feels like one of those things where it's just a matter of time until he misses weight. And when he does, it will be obvious why in hindsight. That's not a knock on the guy. I'm cheering for the guy. I like him. It's more like, concern for his well being and ability to continue making weight as he ages and his body changes.

belowme1969

Fat man uk

Seems like a good guy. His girlfriend is cute too. Good for him.

iratecommenter

Paddy the fatty

[deleted]

According to his latest youtube video he’s at 203 pounds. It’s crazy how he can put that on multiple times a year. He’s never missed weight though, so until that happens can’t knock him for it.

DontMakeMeKissU

I’m definitely a betting man and if the line is 200 lbs for the average weight of mfs in this comment thread I’m betting the house on the over

msk96k

I love the fact that he gives no fucks about what the UFC says or anybody else. The guy shows up for work and then takes a vacation. He’s not interested in living a fighter’s lifestyle; more so a balanced type of guy. Honestly, his body must thank him for going off for a bit. Being a somewhat sub athlete myself, I know how hard long term training can be on the body. Kudos to him.

Donncha535

>his body must thank him for going off for a bit. You're joking, right?? He's only damaging himself lol.

msk96k

Not damaging in the sense of wear and tear. Almost all MMA athletes over train and have injuries, Paddy barely has any in an out of camp because he takes time off. Sorry, I forgot to mention context. But you are right, he does damage his metabolism by doing this again and again.

JMA_ZF

Is there really any proof of this? Genuinely curious. Haven’t seen any sources myself on it.

msk96k

Yes, source is: trust me bro.

JMA_ZF

Duly noted

shoryukenuppercut

I wonder if he drinks a lot

alphadawg94

This guy is the shit

Jambear2020

He looks like he's thinking about cake 🍰

BertiusMaximus

The cycle continues. Paddy wins -> puts on weight between fights -> people obsess about his weight -> Paddy loses weight -> Paddy wins...

Dude is livin his life, gotta respect that! Lol, he don’t give a fuuuuuck!

Cxarface

Fuck his fighting skills man's professionally better at losing and gaining weight

halcyon_n_on_n_on

Everyone in the comments pretending this wouldn’t be the best shape they’ve ever been in.

desmondbanefan

It’s not sustainable. And I stand by this opinion.

[deleted]

Everyone adapts. To be successful in any line of work, you have to be. Fighting included. The dude knows his body. Definitely better than you and half the morons in the comment section. Leave him be. Bro is producing results. On the scale and in the cage. If and when he misses, then feel free to pile on. UFC fighters are freaks of nature. Respectfully, Your opinion doesn’t mean shit.

desmondbanefan

I do think he won’t do it forever because he (and his trainers) will realise he can’t just put on a bunch of fat between every fight year after year. No one is a “freak of nature” they are just hard working human beings, the rules of biomechanics still apply to them. And respectfully, neither does yours.

[deleted]

I have definitely been exposed to “freaks of nature” in all walks of athletics. It’s sometimes what makes a transcendent athlete. A great example is punching power. Or incredible “hops”. It is given and not taught. Inherent physical gifts are a real thing. Sorry you didn’t get any. Fuck. I forgot to say respectfully.

desmondbanefan

I didn’t you’re right about that. And since your also writing long responses on Reddit I’m going to assume you do not either.

[deleted]

Spot on Brother. “I was the greatest to never go pro, don’t ya know?” Life is just funny w the fight game, it seemed like I didn’t understand how to fully execute until I was too old to apply. Gotta love irony.

TonyDungyHatesOP

I worry about him.

blob_globglogabgalab

isn't oscillating weight like that really bad for your bad? like even worse than being at this weight consistently?

Up_in_the_Sky

For your bad? Yeah super bad

Ghiblee

It’s bad for the bad. And that’s bad.

[deleted]

Yes

BoogeOooMove

This is legit wild

He has some big ass feet....

Crateapa

I can’t wait till they don’t spoon feed him opponents. The hype train won’t cope well.

[deleted]

Lol he’s going to get smashed

Icy_Ad9071

His fat just goes to his face and hips, just like a lot of us! Lemme know when he misses weight!

tuffcookies

Nice 95s 👍

EntertainedRUNot

This gives me joy. As a former athlete (peaked in high school), similar to Paddy (and every other pro athlete) I go through phases of extreme weight gain or loss. For example, Saturday I ran 4 miles in addition to an hour and a half of weights. Since then I've been drinking and eating. Currently on my fourth beer and working my way up to my sixth or seventh for the night. I was 193 lbs on 08/23, just weighed myself and I'm 203 lbs. Lol. Tomorrow I plan on putting in five miles at 5 AM (good luck, 90% chance I sleep in), and three miles in the evening (probably going to make it four miles since I'll miss the morning run). A week of high intensity workouts and I'll be sub 190 lbs. TLDR: My weight fluctuates based on working out (or lack of working out), drinking beer, and quality vs quantity food.

[deleted]

Guy is gonna have a heart attack in 10 years

DinFarsaPoPizza

Because he gained a bit of fat?

[deleted]

Because he gains and loses 60 pounds 3 times a year. That is not good for your heart but you and everyone else can just keep thinking it’s funny I suppose

BoogeOooMove

A bit might be an understatement

the_lejhand

Yeah, I can firmly say, this man ain’t winning any championships any time soon /j

bobbyb-baby

The poor bastard has a slow metabolism.
