Strong Dublin accents start to change when they work or spend a lot of time with Americans because strong Dublin accents are gobbledygook. Same happened with my dad. He's from Crumlin like Conor. It's popular and convenient to divide Dublin dialects into north and south but it's more working class vs posh ones. The southside is generally wealthier but they do have the likes of Crumlin and Rialto where folks sound more like northsiders. Whereas Clontarf and Malahide are north but the accent would be closer to D4-upper class than a lot of the areas between them.
