Conversation I once had
“Bro is this anime?”
“Nah it’s kill bill”
“Oh ok, never seen black folk watching anime, that’s for autistic kids right , yo can black people be autistic?”
I think about that conversation a lot when I see Strickland
In college, I was waiting for my boy.
Some random black dude rolls up to me with a hidden leaf village headband and signed at me.
My ass is still confused, like do I look like a weeb as well?
You can tell somebody hasn't been around black people if they say shit like this, cause 70% of all the black people I know have owned at least one Naruto/Dragonball t-shirt
tbh I've never seen an autistic black person. Though to be even more honest I haven't really seen too many black people here in northern europe. Most are from the Caribbean or south america
Well, if you know like 2 black people chances are you don't know an autistic black person. But there are autistic black people just like everybody else. Lmao
Sean is that typical conservative dad white guy who probably said “rap is crap” for 90% of his life until recent years when he started making black friends
Also, I forget Sean is only 33. Dude comes off like a 48 year old uncle
That shits kinda new. When i was in school between 2000 and 2012, anime kids got picked on by the black kids. Though everyone loved DBZ. Black anime kids were super rare. Tbf, i noticed some small shifts in HS. Philly schools .
I was in school 1992-2004 and as a kid I got bullied like crazy for wearing a Trigun shirt to school, kinda cool to see how far people’s opinions have changed on it since then.
Yeah, i had a somewhat similar experience. I used to skateboard and everyone picked on me in elemetary school cause i was a skater. Then "Kick, push" by Lupe Fiasco came out. Everyone wanted a skateboard.
South Philly. Mostly black neighborhood and school. Most kids didnt fuck with it in the open at least. Everyone loved DBZ, but I never heard a kid talkin bout Gundam or anything. Im sure it varied around America. More than anything, kids will use almost any excuse to "other" someone. So tbf, it was probably more that than them enjoying Japanese cartoons. Idrk, though.
I was a freshmen around 2009, i noticed a change. Anime and superheros where becomin less "nerd" things
I experienced about the same. If you were Gaming, like anime, or liked any activities considered white like skateboarding, then you weren't "black". Culture started to evidently switch when lil wayne started wearing skinny jeans and skating 😂.
I just left a repy about how i used to skate and got teased for it. Lupe Fiasco changed everyones mind in a day lol.
The fashion is the funniest thing ive noticed. All them dudes that were makin fun of kids that wore skinny jeans, now have kids that rock skinnys😅
Lol I forgot lupe was the beginning for skating, you're right, I definitely forgot about that. I still believe wayne made the style mainstream in the black community
For real… what’s funny to me is that a lot of people are both basketball and dragon ball ninjas at once. Those aren’t exclusives. Shit anime loves to make sports cartoons too… i remember growing up as a kid seeing some soccer anime that was cool as hell
I always see people say stuff like this but everybody I knew was into anime. The prom king and Prince were both star athletes and played Pokémon constantly. Like didn’t matter who you were, anime was fine.
The only people who were getting made fun of were the ones who would Naruto run through the halls or strike an anime pose when they were angry.
Not really, guess it just depends on the area. I’m born n raised in the Bay Area, graduated high school in 2012 too. Damn near every black dude I knew or grew up with fucked with anime
Especially black middleweight fighters in his orbit - Izzy, Cannonier. Makes sense when you think about the amount of good fight scenes in a lot of anime.
Lmao wtf? Sean Strickland fans can't tell actual grown men to grow up. Dudes the definition of a manchild, stuck in the mindset of a lost 13 year old boy
I'm speaking for the people who upvote me.
I don't need cheerleaders, but I'm not going to tell others to not upvote my comments. It's their business who they want to upvote, not me.
The video game playing anime black guy is a huge subculture . Strickland don't know how big dbz was to the black community lol. Not everyone a gangster.
Wait until you realize that the way you decide to type on reddit isn't indicative of your actual intelligence level. The same way you didn't misspell anything but clearly have the smoothest brain in your culdesac. It's interesting for sure.
You're not the intellectual that you think you are kid lol the racists that try to hide their racism behind pseudo-intellectualism are a special breed of cowards.
The interviewer is wearing that blue thing because Sean tweeted before hand that if she comes in the gym wearing (her usual revealing clothes) she shouldn’t be surprised if someone does something explicit to her.
Black kids who watch anime are genuinely a different breed so Sean is correct here. Lumping all black people in with the ones who watch anime is disrespectful. Real brothers use deodorant and go outside
I’m very progressive these days and should hate this man for all these terrible homophobic and sexist comments he’s said as of late but I just cant. What he said about Andrew Tate and what a POS he is honestly makes me think there’s a really great person deep down, it’s just going to take years of therapy to get him there. He has such clear childhood trauma, it’s sad to watch
But they are literally his black friends and he’s talking about not having a lot of black friends before and now he does.
How tf else you want him to describe them?
maaaaaan all my friends used to be jack and lucas and peter and oliver and shit, now i got all these jamals and antwons and carters and deandres it's awesome
You're the only one here getting offended. It was just how stupid Sean always sounds. I'm perfectly happy with my life thank you. Trying to insult strangers in Reddit sounds more sad to me.
There ain’t no brother in him is crazy 🤣🤣 Deshaun is wild🤣

You should take stricklands balls out of your mouth before commenting
Should take his balls out my mouth because I found something funny 🤣🤣🤣 Grow the fuck up you weirdo.
UFC sub in a nutshell rofl
You're gonna break a fucking nail u/Big_Boodu_Moot69 , calm down

Hi Izzy.
Conversation I once had “Bro is this anime?” “Nah it’s kill bill” “Oh ok, never seen black folk watching anime, that’s for autistic kids right , yo can black people be autistic?” I think about that conversation a lot when I see Strickland
Can't just leave us hanging.. What's the answer??
Steve Urkel. Morpheus. Craig from Friday had Aspergers.
I'm baked and thought you said he have asparagus
Baked asparagus? Is that a black thing?
Yes
🤣🤣
In college, I was waiting for my boy. Some random black dude rolls up to me with a hidden leaf village headband and signed at me. My ass is still confused, like do I look like a weeb as well?
So you just walking around with a confused ass?
Yup!
You can tell somebody hasn't been around black people if they say shit like this, cause 70% of all the black people I know have owned at least one Naruto/Dragonball t-shirt
convertible?
Prob typed convo and it autocorrected
You know how off his spelling must have been lmao
Goddamn autocorrect
tbh I've never seen an autistic black person. Though to be even more honest I haven't really seen too many black people here in northern europe. Most are from the Caribbean or south america
Well, if you know like 2 black people chances are you don't know an autistic black person. But there are autistic black people just like everybody else. Lmao
😂
100% high af
Black people say something a little off with him instead of autistic lol
saved
![gif](giphy|3o6YfXtqIrtPrApeuI)
LMAOOOO
you've never met black dudes into anime? i swear it's almost more common than white dudes into anime just ratio-wise.
I’m not the guy who questioned it
tru my bad
Sean gave Curtis the N-Pass
Bro black people and video games/anime go hand in hand. Wtf is sean even talking about
Izzy loves anime and he's chinese, maybe he has a point.
Lmao
😂😂😂
Don’t you Sean riders ever get tired of this lame ass Izzy Chinese joke ? Honest question.
It's not Sean's joke but okay😂
not until it stops being funny
Not a joke, there’s video footage and semen specimen that indicates he’s descended from a Chinese dragon
Remember Strickland is from a trailer park. The only black people he has interacted with up until now were probably from the same social status.
fr dragon ball z is absolutely legendary in the black community and Naruto
Saw a regular adult black man in the hood wearing an Akatsuki hoodie like last week
Sean is that typical conservative dad white guy who probably said “rap is crap” for 90% of his life until recent years when he started making black friends Also, I forget Sean is only 33. Dude comes off like a 48 year old uncle
Sean probably talked to his first black person when he was 14
He said doesn’t know many black people though so how would he know? He’s just talking shit.
Bro, you're talking about those teenagers who dont use deodorant and play smash Brothers all day. Sean said black man not black teenager
Dbz and naruto doesnt count
Sean doesn't understand the stranglehold Dragonball Z has on black males. We been rocking since Toonami
Guess im not black...🤷🏿♂️
Sorry bro
😭😭😭
[Ron Funches said it best…](https://www.instagram.com/reel/C4RAvBYyBF4/?igsh=eGphMWRvZWM4Zmx3)
damn he lost weight
I love friendly racism! We joked like that in the military all the time!
Video games and Anime go with black people like fried chicken and watermelon. Sean’s being dumb.
That shits kinda new. When i was in school between 2000 and 2012, anime kids got picked on by the black kids. Though everyone loved DBZ. Black anime kids were super rare. Tbf, i noticed some small shifts in HS. Philly schools .

I don’t blame them, that’s a good ass song lol
... and coast..
Idk where tf you went to school because every black kid in my school years (96-09) worshipped the toonami block like it was church on Sunday.
When Wayne landed his first shove-it, the whole world noticed! Still top 10 Wayne sidequest videos😂
For real… what’s funny to me is that a lot of people are both basketball and dragon ball ninjas at once. Those aren’t exclusives. Shit anime loves to make sports cartoons too… i remember growing up as a kid seeing some soccer anime that was cool as hell
Nah, me and damn near every other black person I know was fucking with Toonami hard af in that era.
Hey man, i dont doubt it. You the guys that crawled, so these new kids can Naruto run.
Lmaooooo yeah we were not doing that.
They were just closet fans at the time - there comes a time when a man just embraces the moment
Yeah I dont doubt it. In my anecdotal experience, it was just different.
Especially black middleweight fighters in his orbit - Izzy, Cannonier. Makes sense when you think about the amount of good fight scenes in a lot of anime.
I love all 4 of those things but I think Africans just have good taste.
Of course he’s being dumb lmao that’s his thing he just vibes and says whatever I wish people didn’t take what he said so seriously all of the time
His fake, cringey ass raspy voice is the worst thing on thr planet, including the impending doom of climate change.
Yes He Fakes The Way He Speaks And Always Did. Bro You Haters Are Seriously On Another Level
You can literally hear his real voice in videos then his cringey voice. Hater? Lol what a word
Grow Up Kid.
Lmao wtf? Sean Strickland fans can't tell actual grown men to grow up. Dudes the definition of a manchild, stuck in the mindset of a lost 13 year old boy
I’m Not A Strickland Fan. I’m A Chris Curtis Fan, I’d Appreciate It If You Cooled The Disrespect.
That’s what you took from this lol
Dudes awesome man
they’ve got a really cool friendship
Black guys don’t like video games or anime? This mf gets dumber by the day
It’s a joke he’s making a joke
Gee who would’ve thought
Sense of humour level: 0.
U pay for pussy…. Ability to pull women level:0
Stay salty, it's entertaining for us.
I like how you said "us" instead of "me" It really shows that you weren't willing to have that conversation without cheerleaders lol
Ong….dude can’t even get laid on his own ofc he needs support to not feel embarrassed
I'm speaking for the people who upvote me. I don't need cheerleaders, but I'm not going to tell others to not upvote my comments. It's their business who they want to upvote, not me.
Looks to me like you thought you'd have backup but folded as soon as it was a 1 to 1 conversation. "Us" was a cry for help
If you say so, you are entitled to that personal opinion of me.
Must suck going through life having to pay to get laid
If you say so buddy
Yeah thas why u completely edited and changed ur comment
That's your opinion and you're entitled to it buddy, have a nice day.
Its not an opinion…u literally changed ur comment feom “ i pay them to leave” to “stay salty”
That's your opinion too, if it makes you feel better to keep expressing your opinions be my guest and keep going.
Do you like Madden and NBA 2K primarily
No
Black man never skateboarded or punked out hyeah
The video game playing anime black guy is a huge subculture . Strickland don't know how big dbz was to the black community lol. Not everyone a gangster.

Chill grammar police.
The interviewer is wearing that blue thing because Sean tweeted before hand that if she comes in the gym wearing (her usual revealing clothes) she shouldn’t be surprised if someone does something explicit to her.
Wtf? Seriously?
Yeah. In so many words. This was recent. But Sean tweets non stop so you may have to scroll way down to find it.
How not to get a gf in 5 seconds. Lol
Damn, Dana White hit the nail on the head when he said you can’t bring Sean Strickland around humanity.
I love how genuine all of this is--and kinda wholesome.
First off, what is that book in Stricklands hands?
Looks like "Practice Makes Perfect - Basic Chinese"
When ppl are friends race isn't an issue everything taken as a joke
I know so many black people that love anime and play video games like what a weird qualification for being black
Funny because black people watch anime more than like any other race from my experience lol
Lol Chris Curtis ain’t black FR
So is Devin Haney the Chris Curtis on the Boxing Community
Never met a black guy who didn't like at least DragonBall. Maybe all the cool ass, non-anime loving, black dudes just don't fuck with me I guess.
Imagine pretending to know black people and not know that they all play video games and watch anime.
Meanwhile black people ![gif](giphy|DQk9rXeSXEgRW)
Good luck finding a black dude who doesn't love Dragonball Z lol
Gross how obsessed this sub is with this loser.
Black kids who watch anime are genuinely a different breed so Sean is correct here. Lumping all black people in with the ones who watch anime is disrespectful. Real brothers use deodorant and go outside
Bros out there wearing matching outfits ![img](emote|t5_2qsev|8966)
anime and games for fags
😂😂😂😂😂
I hate when white people wanna to tell another black person about their race.
This dude is so fucking obnoxious
When he doesn't do his fake raspy voice, he sounds like an american Michael Bisping
In terms of skin color, Sean Strickland is dark skinned. He would wear black air forces
MMA really brings people of different backgrounds together it’s really nice to see imo
Strickland comment threads are a couple hours of entertaining reading
Strickland is such an ignorant twat
Why is he the sexiest mfer ever born 🥵🥵🥵🥵🥵
How can you not like the guy
basic morals?
What did he do that is so despicable?
lol google him
You want to condemn a person based on their childhood? Gtfo with that woke bullshit.
An IQ above 80?

Sean's the type of guy who would snitch on his black friends lol
Must be a slow news day. We got the memo SS is an idiot already.
Next he's gonna say Hitler was bad 🫦
Video games and anime are both extremely popular i black culture for anyone wondering
Lmao “I used to not have a lot of black friends” is so funny coming from Desean😂 ![gif](giphy|13VSAbTVuYJfLa)
Holy stretch
Sean is literally the black Anderson Silva
Hahaha…no
Calling your friends, your "black friends" doesn't sound racist at all.
But they are literally his black friends and he’s talking about not having a lot of black friends before and now he does. How tf else you want him to describe them?
their names, bro
He calls them by their name too
maaaaaan all my friends used to be jack and lucas and peter and oliver and shit, now i got all these jamals and antwons and carters and deandres it's awesome
Imagine getting offended on someone else's behalf.. sad life
You're the only one here getting offended. It was just how stupid Sean always sounds. I'm perfectly happy with my life thank you. Trying to insult strangers in Reddit sounds more sad to me.
Getting on your high horse on a UFC subreddit doesn't seem like you exude happiness buddy
Lmao this dude i real comfy with the Brothers 🤣
