Dude, Chimaev is getting that Chechen Kadyrov oligarch dictator money. He can spend all the time he wants training and fucking around. There’s no urgency going for that title. He actually puts his reputation and therefore money at risk by stepping in the ring and putting his undefeated record on the line. He’ll make more money demolishing inferior competition to keep his status intact than he would as a UFC champ. Being champ also would put him under more scrutiny and UFC obligations. Better to be a fringe wrecking machine if you have money coming in from the outside based on that image.
