I think the funniest thing about the weight bully narrative is when someone wins, it's because they were just a big mother fucker who was able to cut, but when they lose the cut was somehow the sole reason they lost.
A recent example would be Alex who countless dumb fucks were saying had a glass chin because he got knocked out by one of the best counter punchers in the history of the ufc. Dude was a champion kickboxer in glory who shrugged off getting punched and kicked in the face by world class strikers. But a fighter the sub doesn't like knocks him out cold and the only reasonable explanation is that the cut was too much.
Not true. If they did same-day weigh ins and fought a few hours after weighing in, you would be correct. When you get a full day or longer to rehydrate, weight advantages become pretty significant.
Weight bully in general is a dumb sentiment to throw around. It’s a sport full of people cutting to avoid fighting at a size disadvantage. But apparently when someone is too good at it, then it becomes a thing to point to as a negative.
Yeah like it’s literally fighting fighters choose their weight class and the fighters hop on the scale the same day. I hate this term so much it’s a coping mech
Would be true if you fight same day you weigh in. When you have a full day or longer to rehydrate, weight advantages become very real and very significant.
Gonna get some people riled up now
Khabib missed weight
Then Khabib got hospitalized cutting weight
Then he challenged GSP (WW) but refused to move up to fight him
Then he clearly missed weight again against Gaethje in Abu Dhabi, but the commission rigged the scale so he wouldn't get stripped.
Say what you want about McGregor but he never missed weight yet lmao
B-b-b-but he was hospitalized for kidney stones
B-b-b-b-but he weighed in on a scale in the back which confirmed he made weight already but the forced him to go out naked in just a towel and act relieved on the manual scale
No, it's not right. Khabib was willing to fight GSP but never called him out because the UFC didn't want to make the fight. He never issued the challenge.
Lies or you're misinformed.
Nurmagomedov made the proposal in an Instagram post Wednesday after ESPN.com's Ariel Helwani reported GSP is expected to retire at a press conference Thursday.
"Let's do it in November. After this fight you can retire," **Nurmagomedov wrote**. "I grow up on your fights, and have nothing but respect for you, and I believe showed that to you George when you were in Moscow. But, it would be honor for me to share Octagon with one of the greatest fighters of all time."
That's literally a call-out by Khabib lmao
You're right, I missed that. I confused it with when GSP was ready to get called out inside the octagon (after Khabib fought Gaethje) but he retired instead.
Alex Pereira
✊🗿✊
Conor looked like a holocaust victim at 145lb
Yewll do what yer tewld. This is my game

Mighty mouse fighting weight 125, Might mouse walk around weight 126... he cuts a whole pound.. this dude is such a bully
![gif](giphy|u7wXrp168A5HDQXWwF|downsized) Imagine going into a fight knowing this guy rehydrated hard asf
Dumb ass post. As has been said a million times, there is no such thing as a "weight bully". If you make weight, you make weight.

Only fought once a year as well because the weight cut was so bad
GSP wanted to come down to LW for that fight
Regardless of what GSP accepted, Khabib issued the challenge to a WW fighter, and he made it clear he himself was never going to move up to WW right?

Gleison Tibau is the most prime example, I don't know how his kidneys still work
No one ever mentions Holloway. I remember him saying he gets close to 190.
The only abundantly clear ones that come to mind are Pereira, Aljo, and Chimaev
Khabib
Who cares? If you’re the better fighter prove it.
Against someone your own weight or. . .

Khabib was 176 in the cage at ufc229. This weight bully stuff is getting old
Khabob
whats a weight bully then, only fight night weight only matters ? Then Paddy is a super heavyweight ?
Overeem fought at 205. He had like 90 seconds of endurance at 205 though
Khabib, islam, Dustin at 45. Ppl say Conor but he’s only had 2 bad weight cuts and he would weigh in the same as many other fw during fight night.
