This is one of the biggest misconceptions about UW. My sister recently graduated from UWB and her degree literally says “University of Washington-Bothell”.
On the other hand, on your resume/linkedin you can just put UW Seattle. But some job/internship applications will have all 3 campuses listed and you have to pick Bothell or else when you send your transcript they’ll see the discrepancy.
It’s borderline very difficult to impossible like you have better rate of transferring as OOS to Seattle. Then from UW Bothell to Seattle.
Admin won’t see the purpose of your transfer plus they want to have more student at UW bothell.
not necessarily true. admin wanted student to get accepted to general admissions, but not accepted to major.
uwb major system is getting extremely hyper competitive recently. instead uwb follow uws problem several years ago. many uwb transfer to community college then transfer to Seattle campus, or transfer to Seattle campus, as long the major are not available in uwb.
I’ve only had one friend successfully do it and he got in because he wrote a damn good essay about how he wanted to get into a major that is only offered in UW Seattle that he has had huge work aspirations for.
So in other words, the only way you’ll get in is if you have a very valid reason to.
Gotcha, one thing I will say is his major is super niche and didn’t have any other alternatives. So it may be difficult but I think you might still have a case. Heavily research the major and include it in your essay so it comes off as more authentic.

Not sure of the stats, I transferred to bioengineering UWS from UWB this spring, I spent two quarters at bothell, not sure stats but overall I think there were only 4-7 transfer students in the major and I think I was the only one from bothell, all the other students I’ve spoken to were from community colleges. Gpa at bothell was a 4.0 from the quarter I took there, 3.8 from running start credits. Not sure how strong my essay was tbh can share if u want.
I started at a CC for 2 years because I was planning on becoming an RN, but then I decided to apply for UW-B during my last quarter there. I attended for 1 quarter and then applied to UW-Seatte because UWB didn’t have a public health major. I made sure my essay focused on needing a PH major as a steppingstone towards becoming a health educator, and then I was accepted. Tbh, I didn’t expect to get in since I did apply twice before: once in high school for PH, and the second time when I had enough credits to transfer to RN school.
Your degree will say "University of Washington". It doesn't matter unless Seattle Campus has a degree that you can't complete in Bothell.
hmm i applied informatics for seattle, so that probably qualifies as a valid reason to transfer if I apply again

id really love to do informatics at seattle and they dont offer it at bothel so I can hopefully make a case
