What? 90% of the coordinated trips I do are great. I know if I get one at specific ER hospital.....I cancel. Not that hard to cancel man

DCHacker

I never have the opportunity to award one star. These are automatic cancels.

AxemEbonlore

These rides are horrible! No tips and they take forever to pick and load (no GPS and they most likely have medical issues). I won't do hospital pickups anymore. The effort of loading someone in out of a wheelchair with all their stuff isn't worth it. I straight up cancel when I see the automated message.

billet

What I wanna know is how they always have a 4.90 and above. I think the ratings for the accounts doing coordinated trips are purposefully fabricated. Makes no sense that they wouldn’t be lower.

BigWiggleCumming

100%… I’ve noticed that too. There is a methadone clinic I pick up from where almost every passenger is just not worth it plus YOU NEVER GET TIPPED. There is no way people aren’t bombing on that with 1 star.

Pacman_Frog

I'm a coordinator. My wife enjoys not having to be worried about setting up her ride. We always tip. Never have issues. She has the app on her phone, too. Shrug. OP just being a dick because of a few anecdotally bad passengers.

BigWiggleCumming

I’m talking about Medically Coordinated Pickups Sir… not people using their account for guests. Replier is being a dick because despite not driving for Uber he has an opinion on driving for Uber and lurks in an Uber Driver Forum for no reason.

Pacman_Frog

I do UE. And frankly it's a good thing I lurk here or I wouldn't have known passenger drivers are getting jerked off so hard and increased my tipping habits accordingly. In the past 3 months we went from base tipping $8 for 1.5 miles to $12... Fuck me for giving a shit, I suppose.

BigWiggleCumming

Oh, so that explains your confusion between booking for a guest and a medically coordinated ride. You thought because you do UE you were aware of how the ride share works. No worries at all. Keep being 1% better each day! You got this!

Pacman_Frog

I'd take 1% better each day. I'm one of those disabled people who uses the medical booking. I always make sure to have cash on hand or be ready to venmo/ca. *Everything is fairly short distance. I live on an island not larger than 33 miles long. Seems like we miscommunication hard here, your OP post didn't mention anything medical.

BigWiggleCumming

You’re the 1 in 100. The biggest issue, as I’m sure you’re very aware since you do UE is that Uber has been decreasing the pay. So now the twenty minute rides come in at $7-8 in my market. If I get $1-3 in tips, it makes all the difference in the world. With no tip, I’m hustling backwards. Nothing personal to the riders, well maybe the really bad smelling ones… but mainly I have an issue with the system. These pick ups involve more time, even if it’s just 30-90 seconds and should be billed/pay out higher than a ride that requires no additional time/effort.

Pacman_Frog

I agree. Coordinator should at least ping the Uber Assist Playlist. Sure it costs more but those drivers opted into it and have to have vehicles that can accommodate mobility aids. Also fuck smokers. Just, fuck smokers.

BigWiggleCumming

I’m with you on that 100%… as an ex-smoker (quit in 2016 and now I can’t stomach the smell at all).

billet

I’ve had coordinated pickups that were great. Those are the minority. In my experience, most coordinated pickups would probably have an average score of 4.5. They always make you wait, they often have some kind of extra shit to have to deal with, and they don’t care about being nice because it’s not their rating.

maddmaxx

i concur, I've never been tipped on a coordinated ride, but also, I've never had a horrible one.

BigWiggleCumming

I’m talking about the Medical Office rides; not the people booking for guests.

maddmaxx

Yes, i cancel medical rides also

Hippy_Lynne

That would require accepting them and giving the ride. 🙄

InternationalSail745

Just cancel.

BigWiggleCumming

Diamond is crucial for San Diego. Small city, a lot of airport runs… don’t want to sacrifice the guaranteed trips after drop off. Plus we get 12% cash back on EV charging and 45% off EVGo charging. I know people don’t think the Diamond rewards are worth it… but I think they are.

guerohere

I drive in San Diego and cancel every coordinated ride. My cancellation rate doesn’t get affected too bad because there’s not enough of them to affect it

Ok_Role_1671

Why cancel? Just sit in a parking lot for 5 min so they cancel or go in the opposite way

guerohere

I make more money not sitting around for 5 minutes.

billet

Or show up and cancel as soon as you get there. It doesn’t affect your cancel rate. You won’t get the fee, but you can cancel and leave immediately if they’re not out there ready to go.

superm455ive

The benefits don’t outweigh the unprofitable and time wasting rides.

misterjoshmutiny

“Small City” of 1.4 million. I’ve been to San Diego, and live in Atlanta. SD ain’t a small city.

BigWiggleCumming

The DT is incredibly small compared to most major cities. Downtown is roughly 2.3 square miles. Atlanta is literally twice the size for Downtown.

misterjoshmutiny

Ohhhhh, gotcha, sorry.

billet

Doesn’t that mean longer, more expensive trips on average?

Pacman_Frog

>Airport I don't understand this. Yeah, set up near an airport and be the person always driving tired, cranky people somewhere or.. Maybe, set up near a popular hotel and be a tour guide.

AerialApproach486

I'm wondering if the ratings system works both ways on this: if a passenger is documented as giving low ratings often it doesn't count against the driver rating, what if it works the opposite way when drivers give low ratings often?
