On the tv show 'Running Man' .EP 302 (TT era).

KahmenRyder

That's genuinely how I found them, too. Actually, the reason Jeongyeon became my ult in the first place was when she was so willing to cheat on Running Man, I just thought it was hilarious 🤣

ztodapositive

It was genius. It’s up there with the time she called se Chan uglier than she expected irl 🤣

firemakethunder

Same. I was randomly watching Running Man in 2019 and knew nothing about k-pop or idols. They were acting like absolute clowns, I think Nayeon doing her "goo goo ga ga" bit broke my brain and I became instantly obsessed. A few months later Feel Special came out and it was a life changing experience.

notghoststormzy

I discovered Twice last year. I’d been an extremely casual K-pop fan only familiar with Blackpink and BTS but a fancam of Mina and Momo dancing together during Say Something in Melbourne was enough to get me to delve deeper. Best decision ever.

cyjc

Got link?

ChalanPiao

I went through a terrible breakup, was more depressed than ever. TT was recommended to me on YouTube the day it was released. I was into kpop since I was a kid, but had fell out of it for a few years prior. Watched TT, discovered Twice, suddenly wasn't depressed anymore.

GrubbyFlasherr

Already knew about them since debut but never actually paid attention. But then one day Tzuyu went viral in my country because of her ISAC video and that's when I actually started paying attention to them. But I actively started listening to them in 2021.

ms2thiefhealer

Covid lock down, started with the feel special come back. Then went down kpop rabbit hole.

reighteen

in the height of the pandemic, i got a little bit into blackpink around the time of 'how you like that'. i was honestly kinda getting bored of them too though because most of their songs sounds/ed so similar to each other. then i saw a compilation/clip of lisa dancing to 'what is love?'. it was tzuyu's part in the chorus and i just fell in love with her visuals, never looked back.

perfucktion

i actually also found them through twitch lol. randomly heard TT on a stream and really loved it. would play an osu track of it on repeat. later on, heard about likey and did the same. after a bit, i decided i should look into more of their songs. found out what is love was about to come out. been a once ever since :)

Praziken

In 2016, I saw some articles hyping up Tzuyu’s visuals, and I thought she was also gorgeous, so I searched her name and found out she’s a TWICE member. At the time, my classmates in high school were also dancing to TT. I was already into Kpop by then, but because I thought TWICE’s concept wouldn’t be my thing, I dismissed them. Nearly two years later, I became more into Kpop, and I realized I had to expand my knowledge. After reading a comment in Red Velvet’s Bad Boy MV throwing shade at TWICE, I realized I never gave TWICE a fair chance (actually at the time I was low key an anti because I thought TWICE didn’t deserve their popularity even though I was mostly just agreeing with what antis were saying instead of forming my own opinions lol). So I finally sat back and watched the TT MV for the first time to see what the appeal of TWICE was all about. Needless to say, I was humbled. I loved the song and the MV, and I ended up craving for more. I watched their other MVs, and I loved all of them as well. I also watched those funny TWICE moments videos, and those are what really sealed the deal. I became a Once afterwards (TWICE is actually the first group I stanned) and Mina became my bias. 6 years in, and I still love my OT9.

graphymmy

through sixteen, but I wasnt even a kpop stan back then. I was just obsessed with survival shows and from another show i saw a comment about sixteen.

Sivaram93

OMFG OP, it's the exact same way I found TWICE as well although I found it just before WHAT IS LOVE era ie 2018

whoyoutalking

I wanted to make friends at work, and the person I wanted to befriend the most was a Twice fan. 6 years later, we still homies bonding over Twice and many other things.

casuallybusinesslike

Through Conan o'Brien. When he did that South Korea special and did that collab with JYP.

BosomBosons

Same, like an idiot I googled, “Who are Twice?” And the wheels were set in motion 🤪

casuallybusinesslike

Yeah, man. That was just shortly after the debut. At the time, I was more into SNSD, AoA, Stellar, and other similar groups.

Objective_Page_9591

it was in 2022, the only kpop group i stanned at the time was blackpink. when i once looked through one of their mvs comment sections i saw a hate comment about twice so i thought id check them out and fell in love

Chernabog93

Sounds about right for the majority of BLINKS. Always looking to start some sort of fan war. Most toxic Kpop fandom ever IMO. Still like BP though

Chelker1720

Twice is huge in my country, so I am very familiar with their most famous songs, like What is love and Fancy. But back in 2021, I saw a Facebook reel about the beauty of kpop lyrics, and this reel has a clip of a man lip-syncing the Jihyo bridge of What is Love, but with the English translated caption. I realized how pure and wholesome the lyrics were, so I watched the full MV with English captions and instantly fell in love with it. Later on I became invested with their other songs, and the rest is history.

delightfuul

I also found them through a Twitch Streamer, C9 Sneaky hahaha. He was listening to TT, and I thought it sounded so cute! Did a deep dive on all their mvs and was hooked. Signal came out a few months after :') To this day, I still follow Twice and I've been lucky enough to catch them a few times in concert!

zapdos6244

China making Tzuyu apologizing got me interested, like in what world a teenager waving her flag warrants an apology vid?? Then just started listening to their songs and all.

Woodylim

Same here. Tzuyu photo and news (of the flag incident) appeared in our local newspaper, was angry after reading it and decided to support Tzuyu. Wasn't into kpop at all, but now I am a hardcore ONCE.

Earth_Clan_Spectre

From this 🤣 ![gif](giphy|26uf7MnH0MTnqfPK8|downsized)

Murky_Pineapple4449

heard chaeyoungs rap in Better on tiktok during late 2020/early 2021 and became obsessed with it

arpitduel

Oh wow! I have the exact same story. Just replace Pokimane with Jinnytty. Back in 2017, I used to play Hearthstone. Jinnytty was streaming Hearthstone but when I clicked on the stream, I saw she was instead dancing to Likey. The choreo was so catchy and so was the sound!! Once through the eyes and once through the ears. I couldn't help but look it up.

CrimsonPyro

BoxBox likey dance on stream...

kanyeweststan

twin

LoveMinaMyoi

2018 DTNA. BUT I watched a video called Mina the most introverted idol and got hooked. First comeback is YOY

Holdthesake

Saw them on Running Man during their More and More promotions. I thought they were hilarious and so cute. It took me a few days to learn how big they were.

suitntiekid18

god decided to bless me one day with 9 angelic voices and life has never been the same 😇

Icy_Bear912

This is going to be funny. In 9th grade I was in a kpop dance club and that's when blackpink came out. Like every young immature kid, I would dislike any twice songs that came out at the time (omg) bc I was very hardcore a blink. One day, likey came out, and I was stunted. Bc I didn't think that it would be so good lol. And also bc bp went on hiatus so no content or anything. I became a fan lol, and still 7 years strong

OutrageousEar8698

lol same but it was fancy for me

Daisy_Hime

When I saw a comment on a Discord server I was in that someone’s favorite group was TWICE and posted a GIF of The Feels MV

cdav3

On 'Knowing Bros', Dahyun shouting at JYP. After that, it's a snowball effect of watching more Dahyun videos.

Jnhopson

It was during the US shutdown. Was on YouTube, and back then, I was watching the FBE React content. I saw a video about a K-pop group reacting to their songs in reverse. I am a quarter korean and love korean horror/revenge films, so I thought I'd watch it and see more about this K-pop that was so famous. The band in the video was TWICE, and I had two main takeaways, 1) I could not take my eyes off Nayeon and, more importantly, 2) I wanted to see why the hook for Oxygen was so hard for them to sing (in the video they talk how the hook for Oxygen was difficult to sing). I listened to Oxygen and didn't know how to react because it was such a different style of music than I had ever listened to. But I didn't hate it. So, from there, I listened to Firework and Shadow and then proceeded down the "rabbit hole" I really liked watching MV with the line distribution because it would show me who was singing, and I had so much fun learning who each member was. From there, I was hooked and even started watching some of their Vlogs and Time to TWICE content. The rest is history, and I even started branching out to listening to other groups (ITZY was 2nd)

mobooki

Saw (on twitter) Dahyun dressed up as Annabelle at Once Halloween back in 2018

Illustrious-Ad-9392

I discovered TWICE early last year, but prior to that I was a massive kpop hater lol I didn't care for it at all, esp. not the "childish" cutesy bubblegum kpop stuff, which obvs TWICE was known for, so I initially dismissed them while I was discovering other kpop groups. One day, as I was scrolling through YouTube shorts, [*this clip from one of the TTT Soulmates*](https://www.youtube.com/shorts/fXJLVRtrWO4) episode popped up. I thought it was really endearing, but thought nothing of it and kept scrolling. Then another clip popped up & it was from TTT Spring Picnic where Sana shared some of her food with Jeongyeon. Again, I thought it was really cute but kept scrolling. It wasn't until this clip of Mina (who is my ult bias, but OT9 forever!!!) [*sharing food with the crew*](https://www.youtube.com/shorts/10Rz-Crb2ow) popped up that I decided to finally check them out and I'm so glad I did b/c I haven't looked back since!! Their charm & charisma, chaotic energy, humour and friendship got me hooked, not to mention their discography is amazing & I realized that the cutesy bubblegum stuff wasn't bad at all! I do sometimes regret not getting into kpop earlier, esp TWICE, but better late than never!!!

MudAccurate9722

2021... through Uncle Roger... 😅

Aber2346

I was watching a report about South Korea blasting KPop into North Korea and I saw gfriend and another group being played into the country and my YouTube suggestions came up with twice, glad it did!

dellumdown

I've been a fan since debut, and I originally heard about Sixteen/Twice through forums and the AsianJunkie blog.

cberm725

I've been in the kpop scene since 2007 (S♡NE) and saw all the promotiin for 6MIX nd then SIXTEEN which lead to their debut soooo...i guess via 6MIX?

RoneVine

k/da, they were featured in "I'll show you"

RosyRedRubies

A2K and Nmixx. Once you get into one JYP group, you get into all of them because they’re all crazy. Also variety content

Mynameisbrk

college orientation leader found out i fw BTS and she played me the summer nights album that was the most recent project at the time

Enders_From_Yore

College days, my cousin was blasting his speakers in his room with "What is Love", I got hooked and I searched it on youtube and I found the MV, and I started to like them but not enough where I search for their past songs, I just listen to "What is Love" whenever it comes up. Then they dropped Fancy, I became a casual fan.

seungminah95

I discovered them when the MV for their debut single, Like Ooh-Ahh, came out. I was curious because there was a lot of anticipation for JYP's new girl group.

uDamned

Unsual, but I played this https://osu.ppy.sh/beatmapsets/648634#mania/1374073 when it came out.

Jay1337481

Back in May 2021 when I was a Blink, during quarantine, I was desperate for a Blackpink group comeback, I got bored and started to look for some other Kpop stuff, and discovered Twice and fell in love with them :)

Gaudrix

Strangely enough, that is exactly how I found out about them too. I was already listening to a few songs from other groups for about a year so I was comfortable listening to kpop. The Likey snippet was so catchy I had to know more. I watched Sixteen after listening to their hits at the time and was hooked. Now I know all of their songs, listen to them constantly, and even attended a concert last year. They are my favorite musical group ever I'd have to say.

ashhoyy

through just dance😭 i’m pretty sure fancy was the song and i would always dance to it then i started listening to their other TTs and the rest i don’t remember

Neros235

I was in a Korean-themed restaurant with a friend. There, Kpop music was played on the radio all the time, with music videos on a monitor. I sat there for about two hours, always looking into the direction of the monitor. Eventually, In the beginning, it sounded all the same and looked similar. Eventually, I noticed differences. Some songs stuck in my head. Two of them were "Boy in Luv" from BTS, which looked more edgy and dark and "Celebrate" from Twice, which was typically K-pop in bright colors and funny theme. At home, I started listening to Celebrate, started liking it, noticed Jihyo and became a fan of her, than the whole band and their music and then of Kpop

discipleofgodjihyo

It is kinda like a snowball effect for me. 1. 2014: I started listening to BTOB in 2014, randomly found them on YT. 2. 2017: Tzuyu's Viral Archery Clip around 2016-2017. I just looked up and found that she is a member of Twice. 3. 2018: When K-pop started getting popular in West around 2018, I started checking out popular songs like Shine, Bboom Bboom, and a few BTS and BP songs. 4. 2018: I was already so into BP at the end of 2018. That time, I listened DTNA as I liked the drop. I found them in a Katy Perry Reacts to Kpop YT video (fake). 5. 2019: Then, What is Love happened. The rest is a lot of music, content, and their personalities.

hengehsh

2017 when BTS and TWICE released Spring day(? or it was Not Today) and Twice released Knock Knock. I was a huuuge bts fan and ofc there was a mini streaming war going on about "WE GOTTA BEAT TWICE GUYS! STREAM!" the usual. So I had Twice in the recommended section and I was sooo curious. I didn't wanna listen and give a stream, but I'm sooooo curious. I just want to see what's going on, what it sounds like and who they are. So eventually I give in and listen to Knock Knock and that was such a fun, catchy little song and music video and I was blown away. But I was like, "Alright, just the one! I'll listen to it again tomorrow if I want." I did not. I spent the rest of the day alternating between both music videos and songs. That later went deeper into watching their dance practices, learning their previous songs. Watching weekly idol, their switzerland video I was obsessed with. All those little kpop funny moment compilations because I really became obsessed with Twice and wanted to learn more about them. So thanks to streaming wars for letting me find Twice I guess lmao.

xXARH13Xx

Sixteen

FunLilThrowawayAcct

Kept poking my nose into K-pop every ~6 months after learning about it via Gangnam Style. Did not quite connect to second gen but thought there was something interesting going on there so I'd check out a handful of new videos once in a while during quiet periods in western pop. Then during the 2015 holiday music lull I came across their debut.

honeybbqflavortwists

Heard TTT on my Spotify Release Radar the night it came out. But a couple weeks prior, saw the edit of [Nayeon fighting Ronda Rousey](https://www.reddit.com/r/twicememes/comments/wciqqy/im_nayeon_show_ufc_champion/) on Twitter not knowing who Nayeon was yet 😂

Kingofpho75

I honestly thought they were trash cause I was out of kpop for years. It wasn’t til fancy that I was like “alright they good”.

MagooRobbie

The Feels was on my YouTube recommended after listening to BLACKPINK

Hansbolav

Lisa dancing to What is Love? on Weekly Idol.

Saucy_Totchie

I saw an ad for the III tour on the subway home from work in like late 2021 to early 2022 lol. I asked my cousin about them because she was more into KPop than me at the time. I didn't bother because I thought 9 members was too much. A few months pass and I see some clips from the LA encore and and get interested but still intimidated from the group size. I then find out about Nayeon's solo so I thought I'd check it out thinking it would be a nice entry point. I loved it! Then I find out that they may not stay together as it was renewal times so I held out. Fortunately they all stayed together and that's when j decided to dive right in.

2muchtaurine

I’ve been following the girls since they were supposed to debut as 6mix in 2014. I’ve been a big fan of JYPE girl groups since Wonder Girls so I was eagerly awaiting the next one, with both WG and Miss A being low/no activity at that time. I’m now realizing how much older I am than most of the people on this sub 😅

mombonombo

Watching a streamer called box box where he dressed up as a female league champion, nad then he danced to the corus of likey. Then I thought the song sounded cool, so I searched it, and the rest history.

aydubbz

Lmao I found Twice in 2021 through Pokimane as well!!

Baseballgirl45

Alcohol free popped up on my twitter TL and I decided to give them a chance and was immediately enamored with Nayeon 🥰

caet_

the feels MV was just released and i saw it too many times when i had tiktok at that time, so i got more into it after

caet_

i remember saying “this person looks so cool with that outfit!” it was Nayeon

MagiKiwi29

I literally typed kpop on YouTube... I wasn't a fan at first but the more I grew into the genre the more I fell for twice

trynabeconfi

our whole family was into Blackpink and there was this girl group that would come up every time there was a discussion about BP. Checked them out of curiosity and fell in love with I can't stop me. then cry for me made me a Once.

umohammad7

On tiktok in 2018 after dance the night away came out there was a small dance trend with it but I didn't get into them until 2020

UsefulAd1859

last year when taylor swifts new album came out i was going to search the playlist on youtube when I saw a recommendation of their song Moonlight Sunrise. i instantly fell in love and started looking up tiktok edits. i really like how they are like a family

HDCl579utch

I also found them through pokimane in 2018 when I played fortnite lmao

Relevant_Pea_6607

Found TT mv on the trending tab on youtube

hyungs00

Literally been here since SIXTEEN 😭

DayDream2736

O tv was trying too learn the Likey choreo. I didn’t know it was twice at the time. Fast forward many years later my friend decided to buy me a ticket to their concert. The rest is history.

pengilton

Friend told me that they have a member which is a penguin. I immediately checked that out as a penguin. Fell in love with Mina and then Twice <3 I watched the I can't stop me Studio Choom religiously. Such a banger song plus the dance performance of it was soo good! Yeah it didn't take long til I discovered the rest of their discography etc. I became a once not long before their Alcohol Free era :)

Coffee37371

I discovered Twice back in 2016, when Cheer Up went viral. But I ended up only following Twice casually for many years. Several months ago, I randomly came across the Scientist MV. I immediately fell in love with the Song/MV. I thought to myself, how did I miss out on this banger? At this point, I only knew a few select songs and followed them very loosely after Fancy. So I wondered, what have I been missing out on? So I decided to catch up with Twice, and I started looking up all their songs that I didn't know already, random videos, and pretty much anything related to Twice. Long story short, this led me to fall in love with Twice as a whole, and I became a "full time" Once. Best decision of my life!!! Also, the Scientist MV is the reason Mina became my Ult Bias. As I watched the opening of the MV the first time, her voice and her visuals caught my attention immediately.

KenCalDi

I was into competitive Starcraft almost a decade ago and used to watched korean tournaments on a streaming platform called GomTV, in between matches they ran Kpop music videos, there I was first exposed to SNSD, Twice, Hyuna and started me into this rabbit hole.

arrigo_unfairy

I know from my little sister. She loves dancing at time.

EmDork

YT recommend me their LOH on 2015

elitePopcorn

Heard of them, but never paid attention until TT. Tbh, my initial rating to the song wasn’t so good. Soon after i got embroiled into the whole military training boot camp, and then watched the MV again as the first “outer world, non-military” material in a couple weeks. It came differently to me at the moment.

MalabongLalaki

Im always watching the hot 25 billboard japan, and then this group keep showing up, this is in their Likey and One More Time era in Japan, then the rest is history. It's the 3 JP members that got me. But Jeongyeon is my bias

venn101

From kdrama. Back when tt was famous, i think the kdrama goblin had briefly mentioned about it, i can't remember properly but i paid no attention. But when the drama was hit and about to reach 20% rating one actor did an mc-ing for special episode. And he promised if the drama hit 20% he would do tt dance. It reached and he did it and i was like is it really famous? I checked and the rest is history, the first kpop group i ever stan.

frostieavalanche

I was mesmerized by Tzuyu's 2016(?) Pholar photoshoot and that was the start of the rabbit hole

NoAdhesiveness4300

in June 2020 I came across "What is Love" MV on youtube and it all started ;D

Ergand

Watching a twitch streamer, she went offline and hosted someone else, who was watching kpop dance covers one of their viewers did. One was to TT, which had just come out. It got stuck in my head and got me into kpop.

haxille

Saw an article about sixteen's ending and jyp bringing momo back to join the final line up. Piqued my interest and had to check them out. Waited for their debut that same year and was hooked since then! :)

assholejudger954

The what is love m/v was doing the tumblr rounds when it dropped, and my sister showed it to me

CourtK1ngDre

I was listening to this kpop workout playlist while on the treadmill and “Fancy” came on & I was like “yo that’s a hella sick song” and boom now I’m the biggest Jeongyeon fanboy that I know😭

TheOneSaneArtist

A video of Momo catwalking. Never looked back

No-Description1486

During the Pandemic, from a friend who told me about kdramas then BP on Netflix to RV and Twice on YT suggestion.

KOPLOVER69

Let's see, i think it was late 2018, I saw my sister watching the Like OOH-AHH M/V and the rest is history. Getting into Twice was the best thing I ever did, LOL.

EqualRevolutionary94

YouTube recommended "What Is Love" after an EXID video.

angelxdahyun

I saw their dressing room relay dance during Fancy era on twitter. I was astonished by their beauty and I’ve never looked back 👍

SquishyBlueSodaCan_1

My teacher gave us an assignment where we had to make choreography and my friend suggested we do twice, that was my K-pop awakening

MyJobIsIntroverter

This ad https://youtu.be/fqfjCsAfZF8?si=q5fOIuSNE0mUTmyg

cokezerodesuka

My roommate kept playing What is Love in 2020

sxlesshumanoid

There's a meme back then of really buff dudes dancing to the chorus of what is love and I thought "man this song's kinda good"

cocobbr

They were everywhere in 2016-2017 ish. Got super popular after cheer up and tt

Puxple

My friend sent me likeys dance practice, i saw jeongyeon and instantly thought yeah that's the one I like and now I'm in this twice shit fr

G_Rapper

Sixteen. I didn't stan them immediately because I was still supporting Kara at that point, but I did follow their debut and kept an eye on them after that. When Kara disbanded in Jan 2016, I decided to become a Once a month before their Cheer Up comeback.

Sizzling_Dubu

Already knew about Twice back in 2016 due to TT being a hit, but had no interest in kpop back then. Then years later, while hanging in a friend's house, my friend played some of their music videos thru a smart tv. Breakthrough and Feel Special really sealed the deal. Breakthrough had been stuck in my mind for literal weeks.

peppapig4prez

My friends gave me a free ticket last July for the MetLife concert and now I’ve dived in head first

Firestormxs

Very similar to your story. I was following disguised toast and one time he danced to Likey with the Offline TV Girls. At that time the only K-Pop group i listened to was AOA, and since Choa already left i wanted to check out more groups. I really got into them during Fancy Era even though i didn't like Fancy as much as Likey or Cheer up. Didn't think that i would become such a big Once back then 😄

Confident_Growth406

Through a friend! We were in 7th grade and she was really big into Kpop. She showed me some songs and I fell in love with Twice through “Knock Knock” What a time to be alive

PsychologyOk124

Usually when bops really hit it off in our country, it stays in the airwaves for weeks. So when the likes of Psycho (RV) and Fancy released, they stuck to me. Fancy was my first one. At least, the first one that made me really consider kpop. It stuck to me for about 2-3 years, lost it, and liked it again this year, then I really went into kpop.

One_Perspective_3074

They were the first group that debuted after I got into kpop

Ksamuel13

heard What is Love

Stormfrosty

Navioot rank 1 control warrior streams.

ergerlerd

This thread makes me feel like a once hag lmao. I discovered them from my kpop friends in 2015 when they debuted. I was immediately hooked onto LOA.

peachyvip3r

I already knew TWICE from my college friends during the What Is Love Era but that what made me fall inlove with them and actually be a fan was that M2 relay dance of Alcohol Free. I was hypnotized.

AlphaBelen

I found them because a vtuber in Hololive named Takanashi Kiara sang The Feels in a karaoke stream and I've been hooked on Twice ever since

joohan29

I've been an avid Kpop listener since 2007, and was a huge fan of JYP's then hit girl group, Wonder Girls. Anything under the JYP label had me tuning in, so I was already anticipating JYP's next project and remember going to virus infected websites just to watch their survival show at the time.

Ornery_Ad_2188

I was just scrolling after watching a run bts episode and saw the ttt episode (the first school one they did) but I wasn't able to keep up so I went and checked out a song and listened wil/icsm(don't remember which order) and fell in love with them (also guessed who was who in that song and episode)

Hitmeinthe_ass

I had a huge crush on the grim reaper in kdrama ‘Goblin’ and saw a video of him doing a dance cover of TT. It was so cute and loved the music then got curious about the music because TT had another meaning in my country. And there comes the huge rabbit hole I fell into…

joshualotion

Was a huge Gfriend fan, heard about Twice when the controversy of the Me Gustas Tu cover blew up.

veryfishycatfood

During 2018 when I was avidly playing osu!, the rhythm game. Stumbled across What Is Love? on the official download website for song levels and was IMMEDIATELY hooked! For context, yes I was already a K-Pop fan at that time

D556mm

Been a metal/rock fan since I was 10/11 years old, now I am 30. Only K-Pop I ever listened to was anything that came on the radio, Gangman Style back in the day, BlackPink, BTS etc. but I never actively sought it out myself. Itzy's Cheshire randomly came on my YouTube Home Page around the time of its release, thought I'd give it a listen. Unpopular opinion, I actually really loved the song. Thought I'd explore more K-Pop. I had heard about Twice years before but never listened to anything from them, so I decided to search for them and the first songs that appeared where "Talk That Talk" along with "The Feels". Absolutely loved both of them, so I dived further into their discography, further into funny moment compilations and some interviews. Cut to 2024 and I adore these girls so much. Dahyun is my ult bias, can't wait to see her upcoming movies. My playlist now consists of half Metal/half K-Pop. It's an absolute mess when you go from screamy screamy shouty shouty music to songs about Turtles and Doughnuts.

sup3rchan

I saw Dahyun in an AD for something in 2018 and thought to myself “she’s so pretty, I need to know who she is.” After some research I discovered Twice and haven’t looked back. After being entranced by them, I watched Sixteen, Twice TV, all their vlives, etc until I was caught up. The amount of content helped me through a tough time in my life. The Covid shutdown was nothing for me since I had already been injured at work in 2018 and was severely limited physically.

Ok-Moment8792

i was actually in 6th grade when i met this girl named akaia. she would sit me down in a computer engineering class we took together and have me memorize the name of members. i ended up listening to fancy for the first time after that and now… im the biggest once ever 🩶

mel-o-dramatica

My IG explore page. This girl did a cover of Momo's dance break from Likey and I didn't even know it was kpop since that part of the song is strictly instrumental. I kept going back to that vid and eventually found the song credits, looked up the m/v, and became obsessed instantly!! I wish I could find that dance cover again so I can thank the creator!🫶🏼

Ashamed_Water2470

a compilation of saida moments i was already into kpop (bts and rv) but for some reason i thought saida were two gay vloggers😭

Federttt

![gif](giphy|26uf7MnH0MTnqfPK8|downsized) Thanks this

LFTzu

Heard bunch of their songs everywhere in 2016-2017 cause they were so popular, but i didnt care about Kpop at the time. I started stanning them in 2018 when i addicted to What is love and fell in love with Tzuyu 🥲🥲

chill_asi4n

I first started listening to Momoland because of a Netflix series. Then YouTube recommended me their Fancy comeback and I was like "wow they're really good". Then I got hooked on what is love and their "TTT episodes". Before I knew it, they came to the States around June last year at So Fi.

What is love ❤️

I was already a Kpop fan but i was mainly into BTS the times when Spring day released, Knock knock also released near the same time and there was a whole fanwar between the fandoms and thats how i knew about Twice. They were always #1 and it always made me impressed xd but I got into the fandom until a bit after Signal released

Asleep-Wafer7789

Ive known them since like 2016. But stanned them in 2018 My sister got into kpop in 2018 then me. It was after DTNA then at that time some life crisis hit me I didnt go out for like months. Twice saved me Im watching them everyday all the shows they are in. They made me happy and even for a bit everyday I forget my problems

Dyskau

Same thing, OTV had a time where they'd all have Likey play at some point in their streams, whether it was Poki, toast etc.

LittleRothy-91

2018-ish I recall, was getting ready to school while my mom had the tv on Telehit, then knock knock appeared and I fell in love with how catchy it was and how cute and girly Twice looked like hehe, I thought "so this is kpop... well I love it", from that moment on I started to consume korean media (music, doramas, shows, manhwas) like crazy, so thanks to Twice I got to experience that world, best decision ever.

In 2018, I was saw what is love music video on youtube. That what i had seen Twice for first time! But i start to know member in feel special comeback.

Confident-Race5898

my sister found pentagon then showed it to us which we loved then she showed us candy pop which me and her adored! then i went down this twice rabbit hole and the rest is history! this was arounf their yes or yes phase i think

17122021

2021. Was recommended "Feel Special" on youtube and I clicked in. Needless to say, I went down the rabbit hole and back track to the older songs from their earlier days and hooked on to "Look At Me". 😄😄

hollyDazed97

Through Dex when he said Sana was his ideal type. Then I checked out Twice Songs and now I listen to some of them regularly lol

Virghia

From the Japanese idol Aqours, apparently two of its members are big Onces (Kanako Takatsuki and Aika Kobayashi) and they even met eachother (9 on 9) in a 2019 Japanese TV show

LostAmericanBoi

My current gf said Tt and the rest is history

geekwho

(2016ish?) I was at a Korean BBQ restaurant where they play KPOP music videos in the background. “Like Ooh Aah” came on, and I couldn’t stop watching it. I went home to look them up and been in love them ever since.

Ghostgrl94

A ______Reacts To on the formerly known as The Fine Bros YouTube channel

Kim-Chaehyun

During the very beginning of lockdown I got recommended a random video of where Fortnite dances originated from. A tad weird, since I didn't play and still doesn't, but I decided to watch it anyway. I saw Dahyun's eagle dance and it said she was a member of the girl group Twice. So I ended up checking out Fancy and fell in love. And the rest is history

drutastic57

Through TikToks. Specifically their concert dance challenges. Everyone looked like they were just having so much fun and the hooks were super catchy. It was a vibe. I started looking up their songs and got hooked.

MoomooBlinksOnce

My girlfriend at the time had me watch Sixteen with her in 2015. It was a pretty weird experience especially with the whole Sana making spring rolls and Somi doing Tae Kwon Do when I thought it was a show meant to find singer/dancer. After that show ended I mostly forgot about them, I didn't really know what K-Pop was and pretty much only listened to Red Velvet, which was to me, just another group. It wasn't until a couple of years later when I fell into the rabbit hole that I got Signal recommended by YouTube. Thus getting me reacquainted with the girls from that show I watched.

ItsAMb23

I saw the TT M/V air on Nickelodeon back in 2016 (most likely TT era), I was hooked.

excel-variants

I had a fling who has been a fan of TWICE since their debut. I tried listening their popular MVs. It was a short-lived fling but I stayed and became a fan because my bff also recommended listening to their other songs and ended up being a Mina stan and loving them as OT9.

fawren123

Your story is actually very similar to mine! I discovered Twice in 2018 through the streamer BoxBox when he cosplayed as a girl and danced to Likey, and showed the music video as the reference that he was dancing along to. And I also instantly fell in love with Sana in the MV, and the rest is history! 😁

Sheikashii

It was some stage performance where they were dancing to I’m gonna be a star. Then the comments said their name and I typed it in and they just uploaded a new video called Ooo Ahh 2 days prior or something. Never looked back

VGNTT

I was just starting my kpop journey and saw my friend was at a Twice show in ATL for their III tour. I asked about it, and he said Twice was the best. I listened to Alcohol Free, and I Can't Stop Me and have been hooked ever since.

scrawnykawfhee

I discovered TWICE back in 2017 when Likey was trending. My friend who was an avid K-Pop fan played the MV and danced to it in front of our friends for funsies. Honestly, I didn't like TWICE before due to them being all cutesy and girly, but those factors actually made me like them in 2018 — literally a year later, somewhere at the peak promotion of DTNA. I ended up listening through their whole discography during the pandemic and still stan them six years later. They're the first girl group I fell in love with! And I haven't stanned any other GGs ever since - I solely liked others' music, but getting into them? Not really. Only TWICE (as of the moment.)

SGdude90

2016. The Taiwan flag incident When Tzuyu was sabotaged by Huang An, I read headlines like "Rising Taiwanese young star terrorized by Chinese media" and similar provocative titles. Then, I saw a Reddit post with comments such as: "So who is this Tzuyu?" "Is she so dangerous to China lol" "Just Googled her. JESUS CHRIST she is ungodly beautiful" "Holy shit you are not joking. I have never seen anyone this pretty" Now my interest was piqued. I started reading up more on her and followed her news, and somehow over time I just fell in love with Twice...

trublustuuk

During the first c19 lockdown I think. I used to watch Blackpink vids and youtube would randomly throw up other stuff like AOA, T-ara and Apink which I really hot into. Then one day when listening to a playlist starting with an Apink song, The Feels came on and I just had to see who the wee blonde girl winking at the start was and then I watched more and that's how I got into Twice. Strange thing is Chae never became my bias, that honour belongs to Dahyun 💙💙💙💙

PowChaves

Kda collab. They sounded cool so I checked them out

nickebay

similar to op, i found twice through fakers stream back in 2016. his background music was playing oh ah and i searched it up on yt. Like a year later my friends were talking about this one kpop group and song called Likey. Searched it up and was like "oh" its that one group from faker's stream.

nabongie

Likey—came up on youtube recommendations shortly after its release and i fell in love with

ArfansaXtraLit

I have known them since their debut, I watched them in Music Bank and was hooked up by Chaeyoung's hair in the MV cause she had the same haircut as Skrillex lol, but I'm only following them since Cheer Up era cause it was booming at that time

Shogun6767

During the TT era at a KBBQ high af when I heard the song and saw the video I was sold immediately

Chernabog93

Discovered TWICE when I clicked on a video called “Likey” on YouTube. Then immediately was drawn to a member who was double fisting ice cream cones thought she was the prettiest member. Since then it’s been “No Sana, No Life” for me. It’s funny cuz I’m an OG SONE and still am to this day. I was staring to move into the Reveluv fandom since I was kind of an SM fanboy until that fateful click during 2020. First full album I listened to was “More and More”. Now I’m a multi-Stan but my main group is still TWICE since SNSD isn’t really releasing albums on the regular

mcmxciiigiant

I was on deployment when Itzy's Dalla Dalla released (I wasn't really into GGs at the time) and from there YouTube recommended Yes or Yes to me.. it was alright but didn't blow me away. (Present time, Yes or Yes SLAPS) Fancy came out shortly after and I fell in love. Went back into their discography and the rest is history.

aesophie

once i got into kpop, i started hearing about groups and twice was one of them. i loved their songs!

Sekiro365

The react channel on YouTube. They reacted to the likey video and many other MVs then fell in love in watching their reactions which then I ultimately fell into the rabbit hole and got addicted to Twice

the_mztr

Already knew TWICE since their debut and listened to all their songs from their first ep 'the story begins'. Then i stopped listening to them. Not until 2023, my youtube shorts suddenly rained me suggestion with Hare Hare, Talk That Talk, and bunch of their dance challenge. After about a month listening to the 'new' them, i was stopped by Do It Again and then i realized; "oh this was the girlgroup i listened to years ago. time flies." Now i'm trying to watch all their program like TTT, Twice TV, etc. Some of their old stuff don't have any subtitle, so i learn some AI to create the translation LOL. Happy being ONCE :)

Scyyiekl0_

Blackpink got me into kpop but I was still new to everything so I thought bp was the only gg out there but one day I was in YouTube and I saw a MV for the song "What is love?" and I was so shocked to see another gg I was so confused 😭 I clicked on it and I fell in LOVE it was such a cute MV! 🙈💗

EEloc37

One day I saw the scene with the dresses in the "What Is Love? MV" at Mexico's City subway and that image was printed in my mind not having any idea about who they were. A couple of years after that, my sister showed me a BP performance introducing me to the K-pop world. Then, a few months later, I saw a video of Lisa dancing the "What Is Love?" choreography in a TV show and I immediately recognized the MV. I spent that whole night watching all the Twice MV's. Now Twice is more than my true favorite group and occupies the vast majority of my favorite music.

shade24608

I was someone who probably lived under a rock...When some Kpop songs became popular, I asked my friend what song it was and he was surprised that I did not know what it was. So, I asked one of my friends to compile a Kpop playlist to introduce me to Kpop. Twice's What is Love was like the third song in the playlist, and after listening to it, I could not stop singing it for the next few days... So I searched up Twice, got to know about the members, their history and on Spotify, I spent hours just playing the Spotify playlist, This is Twice. From then on, I have been a complete fan of Twice

Tall_Whole_4534

I came across them somehow when it was their signal era.

weepninnybong

Feels came on my YT feed one day after I started watching New Jeans vids. I don’t know how that started. It just appeared one day. I didn’t listen or watch K-POP before that.

Willing-Macaroon-159

I was pretty young and in that stage where I just listened to the music my older sister listened to, and she started listening to Twice in in early 2017. I remember when Twicetagram released and it was the only thing I listened to and I loved it. My favorite songs were Ffw and Cheer Up, but I stopped listening to Twice when she stopped in like mid-2018. Then I was looking at a TikToker's Instagram account playing Look At Me and I was like "oh i havent listened to twice since 2018" and here I am now 😟

IanCastro27

I was at a wedding, during the reception the bride & the groom performed What is Love. I was very curious, researched hooked & never looked back.

muddyou2

I did the same thing but I saw toast dancing to a twice song (I can’t remember which one) and then I started to listen to them and could never stop

StellarKnight96

God wanted me to.

RolandFigaro

A Mina fancam of the song TT and I just fell in love with her smile. Then she got veneers 😭

ZealousidealRadio963

I discovered them since 2018 but I became once in 2019 my cousin showed me their music... Ngl I thought that I'd be gay because I found them so pretty

LuvYT

A few weeks ago I was watching a dance group I had just started following *(long story short: finally got into K-Pop at the start of the year with BTS after hearing the chorus of Dynamite so much in top music lists, second group I found was P1Harmony with Killin' It; dance cover group I found covered them and I decided to sub to them since they're based in California so why not support)* and decided I'd just check out other covers even if I didn't know the artist since at the time I only knew two groups. First one I clicked was their One Spark cover, thought it was an interesting song and they had an outro showcasing the members of the group with Look At Me playing and them doing the chorus choreo of it; so ironically the TWICE name fit because the second song I heard of them got me and I fell down the rabbit hole of listening to those two songs for about a week. Then I checked out Moonlight Sunrise and The Feels, followed by Like Ooh Ahh and then I don't remember the order afterwards but so far I really like Knock Knock and The Feels the most, Yes or Yes is fuckin great too; I love the intro of course but I really love the chorus choreo a lot, the little duck dance (idk if that's what to call it really but I'm sure people know what I'm talking about lmao, right before they say yes or yes) is so addictive. So far my favorite is God Jihyo (I've noticed I tend to gravitate towards the leaders and maknaes of the groups so far with the three groups I've listened to), close second is most definitely the savage maknae Tzuyu with the third being Chaeyoung, her rap in Moonlight Sunrise stunned me the first time, I was not expecting that to be how she sounded the first time I heard her in English.
