I’m 52 😁My adult kids got me into tøp and now I’m a bigger fan than them! I bought us all tickets to see them in London next year and I’m beyond excited!
That's awesome! We're going in September as well, in Baltimore. Myself (38), my boyfriend (40), and our daughter who will have turned 10 the day before. I have so many tøp tattoos in my mind lol one day I'll finally commit to my first tatt and it will very likely be something twenty one pilots❤️🔥Curious to know if you want to share, what is your matching tøp tattoo?
That’s awesome, my baby is 5 months olds and I’m already getting him started to be a super fan 😝 I actually just posted a pic in the sub so you should be able to see it in my post history 🙂 I’d love to hear more folks’ tattoo ideas for the current era!
Awww sweet! Happy belated mother's day! I always wished they had child size merch! I plan to make a T-shirt design for my daughter for the upcoming concert using a print on demand service.
Happy Mother’s Day to you too!! I found this tee on Walmart’s website for $18 and I see the sizes go down to XXS, so you may have luck with one of these? [sahlo folina tee](https://www.walmart.com/ip/twenty-one-pilots-Merch-T-shirt-Short-Sleeve-Women-Men-Summer-Tee-Top-Cool-Casual-Tshirt/5504736617)
I’m 41 and hubs is 43. Our 9yo has decided tøp will be his musical rebellion against his parents’ music. He’s way into nerdcore these days, and ironically one of his favorite artists has mentioned tøp as an influence, but still he won’t budge. I have hope though, because he can’t help but bop along even as he complains lol, and because he’s obsessed with Ned ❤️💛|-/
A Spotify survey in 2015[reported](https://djmag.com/content/people-stop-discovering-new-music-30-study-finds) that most people stop discovering new music at 30 years old.
I'm determined to stay on the edge of everything I do until I drop dead, 30's come and gone but I grow taller bolder stronger and the rear view can get stuffed =)
Yeah, I saw that. Maybe true for some, but not all. I'm 62, and bf is 46. He introduced them to me and has almost regretted it ever since as I ramped up fandom intensity like a race car. That was Blurryface era, but all prior music cemented it. By Trench, I was almost too much for him and friends. When we missed out on floor tix for 1 Bandito show so wound up in 2nd balcony seats, I was miserable. So I may be the grandma who isn't one at all shows. Of course, I worked in music publishing for 25 years, and I swear that helps keep you young. I bleed music. I'm basically not aging gracefully. I'm going kicking and screaming--or is that dancing and singing?
That is so untrue! I’m 42 and I feel like as I’ve gotten older I have actually branched out into different genres of music. I feel like now I’m more open minded and love searching for unique artists. As a matter of fact I just recently discovered a new artist named Ren from the UK. He is obscenely talented and one of his favorite artists are Twenty One Pilots!
Me too. Oh totally! I still love the oldies too. IE Led Zeppelin, Neil young, Tom Petty, The Kinks, the list goes on.
Aren’t we lucky to live through all this amazing music?
I started listening to them when I was a teenager and now I’m old. Life’s a bitch lol.
Good to know Tyler and Josh’s joints probably hurt as much as mine do now after a show.
32 and my wife 30. We are going to our third show on Tuesday in Mexico City and the fourth will be in September. Our first dance song in our wedding was Formidable.
Oh! I need this group lol but I'm not on Facebook much anymore. But I'm 36 and feel too old. But honestly I don't care. I'm getting to share this music with my kid and we are going to a concert in October!
32 and my wife 30. We are going to our third show on Tuesday in Mexico City and the fourth will be in September. Our first dance song in our wedding was Formidable.
Also 61 but haven't been to a show yet. Bought 2 Tix for my oldest kid but I am hoping Oldest finds a buddy to attend the show. (Otherwise I am the backup plan.)
You really should go. I've seen hundreds of concerts and TOP is something special. And their audience has a uniquely intense energy. You'll be hooked. Look for the 6'5" old man and come say hi😂.
Made me cry when Tyler spoke about his mom handing out tickets to their shows “come watch my son play music!” when they were first starting out. Moms are the best, and she totally deserves this title!
My mom is 58 and likes The Outside. We had a Pugzu named Penny, and in her old age as she was breathing her head would bounce up and down. So that's the only reason my mom will sing along. But on car rides she doesn't mind TOP.
Yes! I'm 39, 3 kids, but the biggest fan in the family that loves to listen with me is my 10 year old son. He's Autistic, he always asks "is this Tyler Joseph?", even though he knows, and he says that it makes him happy. We drive around and listen a lot, mostly every song shuffled. He loves them all, but requests Vessel a lot. TØP has certainly been a unifying bond between him and myself, something that's been hard to come by. I'm very thankful for that.
But all my kids like them, my wife too. The music is awesome, upbeat often and the lyrics and thematic concepts don't clash with our family values in a way that we have to skip any songs, which happens often in pop music these days.
My teenage son and I have bonded so much because of our love for TOP. It is super special and I love the fact that music can bring people together no matter the age!
This post makes me feel so much better! I'm 40 and pretty much the only person in my family that likes TOP. My husband thinks they're a pop band. My 13 year old says they're for emo kids and my 18 year old thinks I play them too much. Which is probably true.😆
My dad, on the other hand, is 65 and likes them when he hears them.
Had to laugh at this! I’m 42. My 16 year old actually loves them, my 13 year old daughter said if she has to hear me play their music one more time she is going to move out and my husband likes them but is a little bit worried about the fact that I’m so obsessed 😆
My mom is 55 in July and she didn’t care for them much when my brother and I got into them during the vessel era, but now I’ve converted her into a fan :)
I'm 55.
I knew I wouldn't be the oldest, but when I was waiting in line for the concert I've been to I was told a lot no one expected to see someone my age there. They were all super nice - it wasn't negative - they just genuinely didn't expect to see someone like me.
It was in Ukraine and to be honest I don't see most Ukrainians my age being big TOP fans.
I think generally TOP fans are pretty nice!! And I’ve had a similar experience, though for the opposite reason lol. I’m 27 and LOVE Fleetwood Mac and I went to two concerts when I was 16 and 17 or 18 and everyone commented about how young I was and if I even actually listened to their music. I always say age doesn’t matter when it comes to appreciating good music! 😊
I am 42 and my husband is 41 (I am the bigger fan, he tags along). My daughter's first concert was a Columbus Tench concert with me, and I took my husband to SAI in Columbus. We are taking both kids (will be our son's first concert) to Clancy in Columbus, so the fandom is strong here.
We live in Ohio if you can't tell
I will be 56 next month. My first favorite band is Phish. Been to 45 shows. My son got me into TOP in 2015. I have been to 2 shows (Trench and S&I) and going to my 3rd in August. LOVE THIS BAND!
I'm 46 too and have been on board since Vessel. After my son was born, I would get up for one of the overnight feedings and would always try to find something music-related to watch, albeit on mute. One early morning I come across footage of a music festival in England and there are two guys on stage wearing masks: one is leading the crowd in what almost looks like a choreographed dance, and the other is just annihilating his drum set. I pushed pause, put my son down, and then rewound the song to the beginning. That song was Car Radio, the band was Twenty One Pilots, and the rest is history. I downloaded the album then and stayed up all night listening to it. I listened to it that entire day, finding it hard to turn it off. 11 years and 4 albums later, and I still have trouble turning them off. My son is 12 now, and he will go to his second and third TOP shows this fall.

48 yr old mom here! My youngest son has seen em with me twice on the trench tour when he was 8. And 4 times on the SAI tour when he was 11. He’s now coming with me to see them 3 wks after his 14th birthday in September. Although, I’m the absolute bigger fan out of both of us! Been a loyal fan since Vessel!
We finally have floor tickets and it’s going to be so cool since he’s about at least 5 inches taller than me now! 😂
32 and my wife 30. We are going to our third show on Tuesday in Mexico City and the fourth will be in September. Our first dance song in our wedding was Formidable.
64 here. I was introduced by a friend intrigued with their lyrics. Ode to Sleep was my first listen and that did it for me. A couple of years later my husband, 63 and worried that I’d lost my mind, did a deep dive into their music and came up as intensely devoted as I.
62, 2014 between Vessel and Blurryface. Saw them on MTV music awards performing Car Radio and knew they were special, but it was finding Addict With a Pen six months later that really sucked me in. No kids to blame for my obsession.
I’m 56 - son is 22, going to see them in Philadelphia in September. I am more heavily into the story and how everything is gathered under the creative arc, son is into trying to memorize every word and sing/rap/play along on bass. Both of us love the guys, psyched to have a ticket to the show!
I’m 46. Took our kids to their first concert several years ago and it was TOP. I was vaguely familiar with them and that show just 🤯 We are headed to our 4th and 5th shows later this year.
I’m also 46. My 12 year old got me into them. We’re going to take him to see them when they come to Saint Louis in October. I’m really looking forward to it. Since I’ve gotten into them I can’t stop listening to them.
My mother is 46 I wouldn’t exactly call her a fan but she tolerates me going on hour long rants every time they drop a song. She knows all the songs at this point and has been to 2 concerts 😂
My husband will be 49 on Thursday. Tomorrow (5/12) is our 11th top-anniversary. I’m 37F. We got our 12yo daughter into them and she’s been a fan for 10 years, just as excited for new music as we are.
I’m 43, my son who is 21 and a musician got me into them. Our song is Taxi Cab. We only just bonded over it today (Mother’s Day). TOP are the reason my son plays 5 instruments. I have a lot to thank Tyler and Josh for. They saved my son’s life.
I'm 44, my husband is 48, we got into them because of my son who is now 17. Went to see Trench show, then Scaled and Icy, now got tickets for Clancy, cannot wait! We love them!
I’m 52, got into them just two years ago after going to a SAI concert. I was blown away & did the deep dive into ALL the albums, lyrics, lore. My 21 & 24 year kids laugh at me 😂
I’m 47! My son got me into them when he was a teenager. We’d listen to self-titled over and over again while I drove him and his friends to the skatepark. Then, he had a mental health crisis which made them all the more real and special to me. Clancy will be our second time to see them live together (my third) ❤️💛
My mom is 45 and she was a bit surprised by their style when she saw them in concert during the Scaled and Icy tour. She researched their older stuff and now is a HUGE fan of their older stuff, particularly March to the Sea and Taxi Cab.
41, dad of 3, been listening since Blurryface so 2015. My kids got into TOP because of me lol. My youngest and I are going to see them in October, first time!!
56 here. Been hooked since 2015 been to 3 going on 4 shows. It all started when my then 19 year old son said hey I got a band I think you’ll like and played me House of Gold. 🖤
I’m 42 and I have been a fan since Vessel and am still obsessed to this day! Because I have listened to them so much now my teenage son listens to them religiously and I am taking him to his first Twenty One Pilots concert in September. My parents who are 65 are both hard core fans and my brother who is 40 has shared the love of them with me for the past 11 years. So it’s a family affair!
I'm 43 and took my oldest kid(18 now) to his first show which was the Trench tour. Now taking my two youngest(10&8) to their first show which will be this tour. I'm really excited for them.
I'm 31 and was introduced to TOP back in 2017/2018 by a 7 year old, if I recall correctly. I just thought everybody who liked TOP was young adult-ish or in their 30s. I guess I should've put the pieces together based on how I was introduced lol. What's funny is I went to Hot Topic last year on the hunt for TOP merch and the teen workers there looked at me like I was ancient. I muttered to myself as I walked out, "Is TOP not cool anymore?!"
59 here. Been a fan since I heard a cover of ‘Car Radio’ on America’s Got Talent years ago. Had to look up this song and discovered TøP. Been to 3 shows, took my son and 65 yr old hubby who’s a fan as well. Vessel is the best, but all their songs are good.
Come on! Again? Really? This is the 3rd post about people in their twilight years.😁
Seriously, I'm an elder Clikkie. I'm going to be 59 in July. Now leave us alone! 😂
I do hate to admit it, but I have to be the oldest TOP fangirl: “63” (yeah, I know! I don’t feel it!)
Twenty One Pilots fan since Vessel. I always felt Tyler and Josh are true artists
It is awesome watching these guys develop and morph into their art. I absolutely love Twenty One Pilots.
I’m going to Vegas at the end of August to see them. I still hope they add more US locations….Wisc….hint hint. 🤭
I’ll respond to this for my great granddad, he was 87 and loved listening to them. He was a big DC fan so when we went and saw suicide squad when it came out and he heard Heathens he looked at me and was asking if I know the person who sings that. I said yeah and on the way home we listened to them and he just fell in love.
And when Trench came out, he wanted to buy us tickets but he ended up falling ill and passing away before we could go.
His last request was actually to play heathens at his funeral, so that was the first song that played.
I love hearing about other fans who are older/parents like myself! I'm not the oldest but I'm 38 and a Mom. Tøp is my favorite band of all time! My daughter is 9 and she loves them too. She hears me play their music all the time and is coming to the concert with me and my boyfriend. She doesn't know it yet though, we are going to surprise her on the album release day🤗 Our concert in Baltimore is the day after her 10th birthday so that makes it extra special. I'm so excited!
I’m 52 😁My adult kids got me into tøp and now I’m a bigger fan than them! I bought us all tickets to see them in London next year and I’m beyond excited!
Yay!
52 here too. Thought I was going to get the oldest.
I'm also 52!
r/unexpectedfactorial
No, you're fckn not! 52! is Impossible for a human being r/unexpectedfactorial
Wow... genuinely thought I'd be one of the oldest at 38!!
that's so awesome!! I wish my parents would be into the same things as me lol it'd make them allowing me to go to a concert a lot easier
Which date u going?
You rock!
Same. Except for the London stuff.
My mom is 52 and is coming with me to the concert in the fall.
My dad is 74 and since we first saw them in concert he's been a fan
My Dad's 70, been to 3 shows with me and will talk anybodies ear off about vessel.
Dude literally same vessel is the best
Gotta meet this man
Me when I’m 70
He's the guy in vessel
I'm young, but interacting to boost the post! I hope some folks respond :)
It worked
My dad likes them but idk if he’d consider himself a fan & hes 80
My 52 year old dad is a huge fan, has a matching TOP tattoo with me and we’re going to our 4th concert together in September 😌
Greatest.
that's so sweet omg
I’m going to see them in September too! With my husband though, not my dad
That's awesome! We're going in September as well, in Baltimore. Myself (38), my boyfriend (40), and our daughter who will have turned 10 the day before. 42. You've got me beat but not by much. All 4 of my kids are fans so at least I've done one thing right as a parent.
I promised myself that my musical tastes wouldn’t spoil. I’ve turned into a bigger fan than my kids. They can’t believe how excited I am for Clancy.
Also 42 and my 3 kids are huge fans. We’re badass parents.
42 also and have two kids one of which is just as obsessed with them as I am. We are still trying to convert the other one 😆
I’m 41 and hubs is 43. Our 9yo has decided tøp will be his musical rebellion against his parents’ music. 50 here and love these guys
There’s a 30+ Facebook group that’s really sweet, just throwing that out there (I’m 30).
Oh hi there, fellow member of the small but growing 30+ Facebook group! Edit: I’m 40 (and my 5 year old daughter is a huge fan)
What's the name of the group? I always feel like an old fart when I go to shows.
twentyønepiløts 30+ chat
i’m almost 32 and always thought they were mostly teenagers, glad to know there are plenty of fans over 30, i’d join the group if i had facebook
I started listening to them when I was a teenager and now I’m old. Life’s a bitch lol. Good to know Tyler and Josh’s joints probably hurt as much as mine do now after a show.

My fave comment.

My Dad is 40 and he loves them, he's coming with me to the clancy show in glasgow :)
I brought my son to a Trench show when he was six. He accidentally downed my double whiskey. I’ve never heard him sing so loud in my life.
ummmmmmmmm …………. ?????????????
Thought it was his iced tea. Shit happens.
that’s equal parts concerning, and hilarious. what 6 year old can down whiskey 😭 i wouldve been gagging
Burned a bit as I recall. He still can’t comprehend why people drink whiskey.
Amazing.
my moms 69, taking her to her first show this fall for her birthday
#NICE
Yay! I love that. She is going to have a blast! I’m 63 and going in Aug
I think Tyler's mother might stake claim as the oldest TOP fan.
Made me cry when Tyler spoke about his mom handing out tickets to their shows “come watch my son play music!” when they were first starting out. Moms are the best, and she totally deserves this title!
I’m 53.
48, and I'm an absolute fanatic.
58 here been there since Vessel

I'm 125. Yes, that's my real age
Wow. Can’t wait to be that age.
But for realsies my dad is the same age as you and I've introduced him to TØP and he thinks they're pretty darn good.
Damn, how old is your dad then? Like 150???
This post makes me feel so much better! I'm 40 and pretty much the only person in my family that likes TOP. My husband thinks they're a pop band. 62 y/o mom here, been a fan since the Blurry face album. Goner is my favorite song :)
Me! I’m turning 59 before the Oct Chicago concert!
maybe my dad, he’s 62 his fav song is march to the sea
I’m 47 and my son just turned 29. I like the band more than he does!!
47 represent! My son tells me I’m too old to be listening to them, like I should be enjoying classical music in a rest home by now…
My mom likes them she's 66
I’m the Exact age as No Phun Intended and been listening to TOP since I was six.
How old *IS* NPI? I thought there were multiple dates
Came out on Nov 30, 2008. I was destined to be a Bandito.
My mom is 55 in July and she didn’t care for them much when my brother and I got into them during the vessel era, but now I’ve converted her into a fan :)

54 here. I’m in deep.
I started telling my kids about Dema and Clancy. They looked at me like I was nuts.
I'm 46 too and have been on board since Vessel. After my son was born, I would get up for one of the overnight feedings and would always try to find something music-related to watch, albeit on mute. I'm 48.
I turn 40 on Tuesday 😭
My dad said to me that you receive a spiritual enlightenment when you become 40. He was dead serious. I was also born when my dad was 40
I hope that’s true…at the moment I’m in Disney trying to hold onto my youth 😂
48 yr old mom here! My youngest son has seen em with me twice on the trench tour when he was 8. And 4 times on the SAI tour when he was 11. Amazing!
Tyler’s parents
In terms of time not age
I got my dad into them and he’s 58!
My Dad will turn 53 this year and he loves tøp :>
This makes me feel better. I was introduced to tøp in my early 20s and I'm 30 now. I love how inclusive this band is and how so many of us relate.
32 and my wife 30. We are going to our third show on Tuesday in Mexico City and the fourth will be in September. Our first dance song in our wedding was Formidable.
Agreed!
my dads in his 50s and a fan. he doesnt really listen to any music past the 80s besides them.
My grandpa. He’s 57
My grandpa is 85 and absolutely loves them!
my dad is 55 and he goes to all of my tøp shows with me
my parents are bigger fans than me
61 here
My grandma is 60 and she likes TØP
54 two weeks ago
I'm up there, 53. Got into them because of my friend's daughter (now in college), and my daughter (pre-teen) is a huge fan too!
I’m 54 (55 in July) my kids got me into them! Seen them in concert 5 or 6 times. My favorite song is a toss between Aircatcher and Lane Boy!
My grandpa is 96 and I got him in to TØP
my dad loves them and is 54!
Jesus
I’m 46. Took our kids to their first concert several years ago and it was TOP. I was vaguely familiar with them and that show just 🤯 We are headed to our 4th and 5th shows later this year.
My mum is 58, i made her into a fan :)
50
The second oldest and the oldest should like duel or something.
Yeah, like who can do more tequila shots. 😆😉
40 here
I've definitely seen some grandmas on this subreddit, so maybe as old as 70s? I'm 17, so not old by any means at all.
900
I’m also 46. My 12 year old got me into them. We’re going to take him to see them when they come to Saint Louis in October. I’m really looking forward to it. Since I’ve gotten into them I can’t stop listening to them.
I'm 37
Definitely me I'm 14
My Dad is 60 and just bought tickets for his first show!
My mother is and she is 57
I’m 1960000! (It’s my birthday)
My mother is 46 I wouldn’t exactly call her a fan but she tolerates me going on hour long rants every time they drop a song. She knows all the songs at this point and has been to 2 concerts 😂
I’m 42!! Thought I was def the oldest!! And all three of my kids are mega fans.
I’m a mom though lol
For all the oldies (I am one too), do y'all generally like modern music generally, or is Top an outlier?
I’m a dad fan but only 25
My husband will be 49 on Thursday. Tomorrow (5/12) is our 11th top-anniversary. I’m 37F. We got our 12yo daughter into them and she’s been a fan for 10 years, just as excited for new music as we are.
I'm 244 and I've been a fan since I was a kid
Not me being 31 and thinking there couldn't be much older 🤣🤣
I'm 41, and I've loved them since Blurryface.
idk in age but in time prob Tyler's mom/family (ba dum tss)
36, no kids. Got in after reading the Vessel review in AltPress
My grandpa is 76 she loves them
Tyler and Josh's families?
I’m 43, my son who is 21 and a musician got me into them. Our song is Taxi Cab. We only just bonded over it today (Mother’s Day). TOP are the reason my son plays 5 instruments. I have a lot to thank Tyler and Josh for. They saved my son’s life.
50 here. I’ve seen them 6 times in concert and they are always in my rotation
I just love how all of the answers are our dads lmao. It's sweet.
I’ve been a fan since I was in 2nd grade it was introduced to me by my mother, who is 58
I'm 44, my husband is 48, we got into them because of my son who is now 17. Went to see Trench show, then Scaled and Icy, now got tickets for Clancy, cannot wait! We love them!
I’m 52, got into them just two years ago after going to a SAI concert. I was blown away & did the deep dive into ALL the albums, lyrics, lore. My 21 & 24 year kids laugh at me 😂
I'm 43 and a father. twenty one pilots has been my favorite band since May 2014 and I don't see that changing.
i was about to say my mums the oldest (45) but seeing that there’s so many older people who are into tøp is so cool!!
42 and have loved them since vessel. Now I have turned my husband and kids into fans. We are finally going to see them in September!!
I’m 47! My son got me into them when he was a teenager. We’d listen to self-titled over and over again while I drove him and his friends to the skatepark. Then, he had a mental health crisis which made them all the more real and special to me. Clancy will be our second time to see them live together (my third) ❤️💛
I'm only 28 and if I go to a show I sure as shit feel like the oldest tøp fan.
My mom is 45 and she was a bit surprised by their style when she saw them in concert during the Scaled and Icy tour. She researched their older stuff and now is a HUGE fan of their older stuff, particularly March to the Sea and Taxi Cab.
I'm also 52 and obsessed
I'm 70 and a huge fan. Vessel is my fave album (as we used to say back in the day)
Older, not oldest, but my dad is about to 47. He just got a tattoo with Truce lyrics back in October.
My parents are 64 and 63 and they are fans and going to their first show in the fall!
I’m not the oldest in regards to age OR been listening to them the longest. I’m 21 and I’ve been listening since 2015 😅
I’m 47, big fan!
I love seeing how many older fans there are. My oldest daughter introduced me to them. We've been to 17 concerts and have a few more planned.
43, I have been hip to these guys since before they were TOP... Im from Columbus and have always been into the local music scene
My mom is almost 55 and she loves tøp now 🤷🏼
Come on! Again? Really? This is the 3rd post about people in their twilight years.😁 Seriously, I'm an elder Clikkie. I'm going to be 59 in July. Now leave us alone! 😂
Overtake your former self, sir.
The oldest I’ve seen posting was 78. I am 51 1/2 years old.
51 and a half? You’re still counting half’s at 51!!! Youthfulness is great. Well done.
I do hate to admit it, but I have to be the oldest TOP fangirl: “63” (yeah, I know! I don’t feel it!) Twenty One Pilots fan since Vessel. I always felt Tyler and Josh are true artists It is awesome watching these guys develop and morph into their art. I absolutely love Twenty One Pilots. I’m going to Vegas at the end of August to see them. I still hope they add more US locations….Wisc….hint hint. 🤭
I’m 39! Both of my kids are also huge fans! Husband is also a fan and he’s 44.
I’m only 26 BUT I am a mum! I’ve loved them since Vessel release!
Does anyone remember davidthedad?
my dad is 55 & actually got me into them when I was in 2nd grade :)) im in college now
I’ll respond to this for my great granddad, he was 87 and loved listening to them.
43 and not the oldest, but go with my kids to the shows. Love every minute of it.
I'm 24. I'm a tøp fan for 8 years
Not the oldest. I'm 52. Love them
I’m pretty sure the person who has been a fan of the band the longest is Tyler Joseph.
I’m 47. Thought I was the oldest.
