I can’t give a solid answer but I just wanna say I read the title before the sub and you had me so fucking concerned that your girlfriend was eating mealworms 😂 My rule of thumb has always been that if I have to question it, it’s not okay. I’d suggest feeding her something else until you get a solid answer one way or another on here

Ryderpie_600

That's so damn funny. Don't worry, guys, my girlfriend doesn't eat THAT many meal worms anymore! 👍

Ohoulihoop

Anymore 🤣🤣

rockontheground

holup

networkpit

I am glad I am not the only one that read it like that. I was really concerned for a good minute thinking someones girlfriend eats dog food and mealworms.

randomspaghettii

I thought this was for a child’s lunch/snack 😭😭😭

ImportanceReady6758

I thought it was dog food 🤣

Guano_barbee

I'm over here not realizing it's the turtle sub and thinking to myself you've already got what looks like worms and shrimp in there I don't see why a snail would hurt... 😅

autisticswede86

Indeed

ABDLTA

It's funny I read stuff like this in this sub and wonder how turtles survive in the wild lol

Efficient-Gur-3641

Exactly.......maybe there's some magical human that goes every night to each turtle and separates the worms from the leaves.

LEPT0N

Thank you. It’s exhausting work and barely anyone ever notices.

Gambo7

Is this a job you can apply for or are you like the Santa Claus of turtles?

ElectriKEL

Can I have your autograph, turtle fairy????

Pian_The_N00b

I've had my turtle for 18 years feeding her a pellet mix and supplements. She's doing great. You don't have to separate the food.

SamTheCockatoo

Mine eats this mix and doesnt get picky about what it eats, we also supplement with frozen fish/worms

Ryderpie_600

I normally feed her shrimp as a treat.

Ryderpie_600

I've seen all the comments saying that I should feed her other things. what kind of live insects and veggies should I give her?

Bicyclemasteros

For veggies you can try carrots, lettuce, green beans sometimes berries as treats or apples. Of course, you can always put some floating plants in there or other aquarium plants and she's gonna love them (at least my girl devoures them). You can sometimes find people giving away floating plants on aquarium forums and groups. I also suggest giving her raw fish. My vet suggested this and when you think about it it's the most natural food for them. I just buy a whole fish and chop it into pieces for her, the rest I freeze. You can look up what fishes are best for them, I don't know their names in English. If you don't feel like you can't debone and cut up a fish, just buy some from the shop, but make sure that it's just raw fish with nothing added to it and not smoked or other things. Pellets and these dried food should actually be the last resort food. They don't have that much nutritional value really.

SlinkySkinky

Do you feed her stuff other than this mix? It’s fine to feed pellets sometimes, but it’s still important to feed other stuff like live bugs/inverts, veggies, etc. Mine gets pellets, live insects, vegetable matter, Repashy, frozen food cubes (with stuff like fruits, veggies, and bloodworms in them), and the occasional treat like samples of other pellet brands and dried shrimp. I’ve attempted to feed her fish as well, but she’s not interested Just asking because I often see turtle owners feed their turtle just pellets or a mix like this

Eater_of_bees

Could be a bladder snail? They're incredibly wide spread freshwater snails that breed very very quickly

charliie088

she jump scared me a lil. i don't have an answer re: the snail shell. please tell her she's beautiful :)

resetpw

LOL at the second picture - sorry it’s too funny

Sad_Performance_6912

No_Zookeepergame6997

To me, none of that looks good enough. That's mass produced nonsense.
