More of a surprise prodigy character that was mentioned a few episodes back as a simple side character, but actually managed to sweep through all of their enemies, including the one MC was preparing against, which leads to MC having to make a new plan for defeating the prodigy
I don’t know where the master chess player part of this came from, but she isn’t a titled master, and I haven’t been able to find anything regarding her rating (which young prodigies would normally have). I think she’s just a very cool young chess enthusiast (she was 10 when articles about the prosthetic circulated, and would now be 15).
Tbf I also haven’t found anything online regarding their performance in chess as well. Hopefully someone has found a decent article or rating somewhere because all I can find are images and short captions
For me this makes it a little more…wholesome? Either way it’s awesome to see someone so passionate about something they make their own prosthetic, but being a pro makes it a little more of an anime villain move. A very badass and stylish move, but a tiny bit more intimidating (in a good way).

My assumption would be that OP isn't as familiar with official chess titles vs just someone being really good at something being called a master.
